  • The Worst Year for the WWE Title?

This is what we have so far:

CM Punk: January 1st- January 27th
    The Rock: January 27th - April 7th
John Cena: April 7th -August 18th
    Daniel Bryan: August 18th - August 18th
    Randy Orton: August 18th - September 15th
    Daniel Bryan: September 15th - September 16th
    Randy Orton: October 27th -

I'm not saying this has been the worst year because of the people holding the title, I'm saying this may be the worst year in terms of the title's importance and the feuds.

This year it seems the title is definitely a distant second to the feud. Rock-Cena and The Authority angle had the WWE title as a part of a larger story, not the actual story itself.

Throw in the horrid feud between Cena-Ryback and the fact that the belt remained vacant for a month, I'd say the WWE title may be at an all-time low of importance.

they're claiming that who holds the WWE title is the face of the WWE Universe right now. don't see how it's at an all time low importance. I can see how the way they're using it can lead to an all time high frustration though for this year.

I think the exact opposite. Unlike last year when the WWE Title was treated as the second most important match on every card - this year the WWE Title is involved in the main angle on every show. It is a massive year in terms of making it look important.

I'm afraid I've got to side with PB. The angle surrounding the belt for the past few months has made it seem immensely important. "The face of the company" seems like a pretty important role in a company with "Entertainment" in its name.

1995 is the worst year, boring ass Diesel holding it almost all year. Top that off with a summer feud with Mabel of all people. It will never be that lame ever again.
I fear no man, no beast or evil, brother.

They can repeat the same lines all they like about the importance of the title but actions speak louder than words and shitty PPV finishes negate all of that.

Completely agree with the OP. Last year with Punk vs Jericho/Bryan/Cena was obviously much better. They could have done a similar thing this year from Summerslam, but chose not to.

The year Diesel had the strap is the undisputed #1 of Worst Year for the WWE Championship.
