  • PPV Betting Thread for 2013 Elimination Chamber

I'm sure we all know how this works by now. It's been a fun time so far I think. Just a couple quick notes this time. Firstly, only those with a positive balance can participate in this betting thread as there is no add'l money being added this month i.e. only returning players this month. There will be another open invite for the next betting thread which will be Wrestlemania.

This will be our second to last match of the season, with the season ending after Mania, at which time we will begin a new season which will run until WM 30. So bet accordingly as after this ppv you only have one more chance to be the big winner for the season. Remember, you can only bet once and cannot exceed your balance in bets. And of course you must place your bet before 7pm EST on Sunday of the PPV. Below are rules and current money totals. Good luck to everyone.

    Rules
    1. This is for fun only, there is obviously no real money changing hands
    2. Each player/forum member that wishes to play is welcome to do so
    3. Each player will start with $100. Each member will be given an additional $100 before each of the four major PPV ( Rumble, Mania, Summer Slam, Survivor Series) so if you lose all your money you will be able to join back in after a major PPV
    4. Odds are as basic as I could make them, in all whole numbers. Payouts are in simple denominations also.
---1/1 odds mean if you bet $100, the payout is $100, 2/1 odds means $100 pays out $200, 3/1 $100 bet pays $300, and etc
    5. You can bet in any whole number dollar amount you wish
    6. You can bet on as many or as few of the matches as you wish, Place a lot on one match, or spread it out among all matches
    7. You do not have to bet all your money. Bet as little or as much as you want
    8. I encourage you to keep track of your winnings, but I will also keep a running tally which will be updated after every PPV
    9. Very important rule here. Your bet MUST be placed and forum timestamped by 7:30 PM EST on the Sunday of the PPV
    9. Other important rule. You may only bet one time. So please make sure you are sure you bet the correct amount.
    10. If you bet money you do not have, your entire bet will be voided so make sure you know how much money you have to spend
    11. Lastly, any suggestions on how to make this more fun, easier, whatever are always welcome

Because of the match stipulation, this probably shouldn't be an option I'd think?

I'll address Rule #11. I saw this thread, the game looks fun, but I can't play because I'm not a returning player. My one suggestion would be to change that. Why not allow anyone new to play with an automatic default of $100? What's the point of having a limited open invite time period?
I hope to just continue to be healthy and happy while calling professional wrestling my job. I also hope to use my platform to educate and transform people's perceptions on plant based diets, what plant based athletes look like, and can achieve, and to just encourage everyone, no matter what your lifestyle is, to be more mindful of the choices we have when it comes to diet and the impact those choices have on ourselves, our culture, and the environment.

That is how it works I think, actually. Anyone can join and starts with $100. Rule 3 says with 'All players start with $100'.

I think it means Rock retains via Punk getting DQ'ed or counted out.

However, with all due respect, those WHC odds are terrible. Kane absolutely does not have a greater chance of winning that than Jericho or Henry.

Also agreed that the "new players can't join certain months" rule is lame.

                    Bender

This will remain in my sig until The Rock gets his WWE World Heavyweight Championship rematch.

That rule might be lame, but that is how it has always been. It was that way when the last person ran it too.

I for one am fine with the rule.

Oops...that's what I get for not reading the start of the post. Well, I agree that it is a lame rule, especially since it would make the culmination of this season (WrestleMania) more fun and competition if new people joined this month and gained some fake money for WM betting.

And agreed about Kane's odds, he and Bryan both have the least chance of winning it would seem.

Just because something has "always been that way" doesn't exactly make it worth supporting. Why would you be fine with something that you even admit to as being 'lame'? If i was on vacation in Las Vegas and the dealer at the table said, "I'm sorry, we're not allowing anyone new to bet until next week". I'd leave town, because it's a rule that doesn't make any sense. What kind of a game actively works against bringing in people to play?

Why not just say, here's $100 virtual dollars for any new players. There, that's pretty easy. Just sayin'.
