Re: 2017 Match of the Year Thread

    Kenny Omega vs. Kazuchika Okada
    IWGP Heavyweight Championship
    Wrestle Kingdom 11

Odds are will be my final answer. One of the best matches I ever seen.
    Flowers gathered in the morning,
    Afternoon they blossom on,
Still are withered by the evening:
You can be me when I'm gone.

I said the same thing about Zayn/Nakamura last year, and it ended up not being my top match of the year, so I won't say Omega/Okada is will be my #1 all year, but damn that was incredible to watch.

If it gets beat, it gets beat. Not sure what not will beat it though. Right now this is my pick for best big event singles match. Meltzer's first six star rating. He teased some matches may be higher than 5 stars before but not often.

Omega vs Okada is the only match I'd consider for my MOTY list so far. The other WK 11 matches weren't bad. They were pretty good. I just know that if I add any of them to my list they'll eventually end up being pushed out by other matches throughout the year. Omega vs Okada though... holy hell. The final 3 seconds of the match were a massive disappointment because after all the false finishes after the 100th Rainmaker that Okada hit, and Omega not getting to hit his finisher once, I thought they were building up to Omega winning. Still an amazing match. It's going to take something incredible to beat it.

Isn't it too early to start this thread?

                        It's January, and it's a consideration thread.

It's quite handy for me. I watch Raw and SD and WWE PPV's, and catch NJPW when I can but often dip in and out of that tbh. If some indie matches or anything I've missed elsewhere gets put in here, I'll make sure to catch it not long after the event.

                                Dukezilla still thinks it's 2016.
