Just finished episode seven really liking this show so far real shame there's only ten episodes in a season but atleast it got picked up for a second season....Anyways really liking the Ned Stark character same with Jon Snow (The Bastard) oh and the blondish chick that marries Khal (sp) she's not bad either plus she's hot and other stuff (namely her tits) although I kind of felt bad for her brother what with being.

    Spoiler

Anyways anyone else watch this show and if so which characters do you like and what do you think of the show so far.

I am a huge fan of the show. I found it very confusing at first as I couldn't keep track of the large amount of characters and how they were all related, but I have a handle on pretty much everything now. Very entertaining show, and I love all the violence. Especially the beheading of the horse. One of the most badass things I've ever seen. The story has really started to pick up over the last couple of weeks. I can't wait to see what happens tonight (the seventh episode airs tonight in the UK).

My favourite characters are Tyrion and Robert. They are both hilarious when they want to be. Arya is a really cool character as well.

Actually just started watching this weekend. I watched all 7 episodes in 2 days. I think they got me hooked. Still not to good with all the names of the characters but I enjoy the show very much.

Ned's youngest daughter yeah she's pretty cool as well definitely like her interaction with the swordsman instructor thats training her it's just so adorable in an otherwise violent and sexual show.

            Re: Game of Thrones

Started reading the books at the same time as I started watching the show, and am loving both. Fave characters, in no particular order, have to be Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, Arya Stark, Daenarys Targaeryen, and, of course... Samwell Tarly.

I have seen a couple episodes of this show and it's my favorite thing going right now. But I don't have HBO. So, if anyone here happens to know of a way to watch this show without HBO, perhaps via the internet in some perfectly legal way, that person should PM me immediately.

                Read the books.

The show is incredible - my friends and my wife are all obsessed with it. Totally love it and am so happy it got picked up for a second season already.

I do very much intend to read the books. I'm a sucker for a compelling sword and sandal story.

To this point, we've had the White Walkers, and lots of literal references to dragons, as well as a few other supernatural seeming occurances. Without spoilers, precisely how far out does the fantasy element get? I have to say I'm more intrigued by the politics of it all and the individual interactions than I would be if they were always fighting dragons and minotaurs.

Oh, and so far, my favorite character is far and away Tyrion. I've loved everything that Dinklage has done, but this is his best work in my opinion.

The story is definitely more about the politics than any fantasy elements. I'm sure the White Walkers and Dragons will become more significant later on, but judging on what I've seen so far, I think the politics and feuds between the characters/families will always take priority. Note that this is just speculation, I haven't read the book.

                      Re: Game of Thrones

i tried numerous times to whatch the show but it seemed too big and too much to get my head around right outta the gate.

then one boring off day i sat down w/ my HBO on demand and the first 4 episodes and a six pack and watched...i'm now totally hooked.

still havent gotten all the names straight but loving it none the less. and the end of the episode "a golden crown" was fucking insane! saw it coming. but still fucking crazy!

I also loved last week's crowning. That little fop had it coming!

                          Re: Game of Thrones

This show is for fantasy what The Sopranos was for the mafia, what Deadwood was for the western, and what The Wire was to police work and the urban environment. I especially love the long exposition-laden monologues during gratuitously sexual scenes. The legacy of Deadwood lives on.

I just started watching OnDemand and I'm having a hard time following it because I'm also playing Dragon Age 2 and in the midst of reading Ken Follett's "The Pillars of Earth" which takes place in 12th century England.

But I like what I've seen so far.
