  • The Cannabis History Thread.Have You Tried It? Do You Hate It? Post Here Irregardless

This has been a long time coming...With everything that's been going on around the planet at the moment and people always worried about healthcare plans, etc I chose to make this thread about cannabis-A plant which has been used for well over 30,000 years(at the very least) by humans for all sorts of things, whether by shamans in order to help heal patients or go through out-of-body journeys, by everyday people to heal themselves, by numerous non human animal species (including deer and grasshoppers) and the list goes on...

I just want everyone's opinions on cannabis overall, whether you use it, want to use it, hate it, whatever..Just contribute to the thread and post any interesting links, whether it's articles, videos or anything else you can scrounge up. I also want to hear about how cannabis is treated in different countries, seeing as how PW has people from a number of different continents.

Personally, I've been using cannabis as my healthcare plan in conjunction with Chinese medicine consistently since 2000(and inconsistently before then) by eating, drinking(cannabis is in some drinks you can buy at certain cannabis clubs), smoking, vaporizing, using Rick Simpson Oil, which is highly concentrated cannabis oil inside a syringe and a good starting dose would be 1 rice-grain sized dose under your tongue(which I'll get into later), tinctures(think of a small bottle full of liquid cannabis with an eyedropper in it and 1-2 drops under your tongue is a good starting dose), cannabis massage creams, along with hash, wax and shatter(2 types of highly concentrated, extremely potent forms of cannabis)..What I've yet to try is cannabis epson salt bath soaks and juicing cannabis(put stems, buds, leaves, etc into a blender and drink the juice).

    Here's more info on wax-

    http://www.caregiversforlife.net/blo...ow-is-it-used/

Here's some info on shatter(Which, by the way can be very sticky. Just put it in the freezer for a few hours, take it out and it'll break apart into pieces)

    http://www.cannabis.info/USA/library...-concentrates/

Word of advice-Put wax/shatter in a vaporizer. It works better than smoking it.

Now, certain tribes have used cannabis for centuries on end..The San, also known as Bushmen, who communicate through multiple types of tongue clicks) of the Kalahari Desert in South Africa are a prime example of this. For many thousands of years before slave-traders came to Africa, these southern tribes, along with northern tribes used cannabis(sometimes called "dagga". It would be eaten or smoked for the most part. The Zulu have been known to smoke dagga before going into battle.-

Another link concerning tribal cannabis use-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entheog...se_of_cannabis

Here's a link about Chinese medicine and cannabis-http://www.thenorthwestleaf.com/page...-for-centuries

    Yet another link-http://www.globalhemp.com/2014/03/th...-medicine.html

Now about cannabis and non-human animals..Basically, animals such as deer have been eating cannabis for centuries and for good reason...If a non-human animal is sick, they know which plants to eat in order to get healthy again..Below is a link to a site which has cannabis for pets. Now, keep in mind that no matter what kind of animal, whether it's the human animal, hammerhead sharks, crows, plankton, frogs, barracudas, polar bears, whales, platypus, deer, komodo dragons..They ALL have cannabinoid receptors in their bodies, just like humans do, hence my point about numerous species using cannabis to heal themselves. Also, an interesting fact for anyone who lives in a state which has cannabis clubs-A cannabis club in Oakland has Cannabickies dog treats, which has 1-2 milligrams of THC baked into each dog treat. It's for dogs that have cancer, hip dysplasia, arthritis, etc

    http://canna-pet.com/

Now to get into juicing cannabis, which I mentioned earlier...This is shown through the video below-

Here is Run From The Cure, which details the Rick Simpson Oil I mentioned earlier-

1 very influential person whom most Americans have never even heard of is Dr. Raphael Mechoulam. He helped to first isolate THC back in 1964, along with Drs Yehiel Gaoni and Haviv Edery. Mechoulam is 84 years old and still researching cannabis in Israel. Speaking of Israel, a good amount of their hospitals have patients (from kids to geriatrics) using cannabis as the main medicine of choice.

    Raphael's wiki page-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raphael_Mechoulam

Now to get into the research which countries such as Israel, Chile, Spain, India, The Czech Republic, Canada, Portugal, Jamaica, Germany, The Netherlands and others are actively doing-

Israel's cannabis research is highly commendable..

    Here's a link-http://www.vosizneias.com/193464/201...uana-research/

In that article, it mentions they're making a particular strain to help epileptic kids called "Rafael" which would have way more CBD than THC, hence the kids would get buzzed at the most.

Another interesting Israeli article and at the bottom of the article, by all means listen to the radio discussion-

    http://www.israel21c.org/headlines/i...draws-a-crowd/

Uruguay, a country which has legalized cannabis-

    Short but informative article-

    Another one-

    http://panampost.com/panam-staff/201...ning-mid-2015/

Now into Chile..Chile is slowly but surely going towards legalizing cannabis

    http://panampost.com/panam-staff/201...na-production/

Even though it's from 2014, another short, good article.

    http://www.cannabisnewscenter.com/ch...annabis-seeds/

Now, onto Spain. Spain, along with Germany(and possibly other countries which I MIGHT be leaving out) have cannabis social clubs, which are different from cannabis clubs in the US. It varies, but cannabis social club members generally grow their own plants at the club and pick up increments of them every few weeks.

Below is an interesting site concerning Spain and cannabis

    http://www.cannabis-spain.com/

    Another good article-
    http://csglobe.com/spain-study-confi...-side-effects/

Dr. Manuel Guzman from Spain has been actively researching cannabis for a long time. Below is an article written by him.

    Article-

    http://cannabis-med.org/index.php?tp...&id=274&lng=en

Barcelona has had Spannabis(a cannabis festival) for many years

    http://www.spannabis.com/barcelona/index.php/en

Onto India and its many thousands of years spent with cannabis and how it's used in Ayruvedic medicine. In certain cities in India(such as Varanasi) you can buy cannabis in many forms from various government-run shops..It's usually called bhang(pronounced "vaang"). It can be in drinks, sold as hash(which I'll get into), buds, edibles, etc. In India, cannabis has been used to cure dysentery, fever, among many other things..

    http://antiquecannabisbook.com/chap2B/India/India.htm

    Bhang's wiki link-

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhang

Concerning The Czech Republic, the link below has a few interesting articles-

    http://www.hemp.org/news/category/ca...czech-republic

Even though this is from 2013, it's still pertinent.

    http://the420times.com/2013/04/czech...ical-cannabis/

As far as The Netherlands goes, I've found a few things. The article below is about a new CBD dominant strain called Bedrolite.

    http://www.hightimes.com/read/new-cb...tch-pharmacies

    Great article-

    http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...300021763.html

Germany is advancing when it comes to cannabis..

    http://www.dw.de/high-time-for-medic...any/a-18231922

Germany research shows how cannabis can make cancer cells burst-

    http://ireadculture.com/article-5046...ppression.html

Fuck it..That's it for now. I'll add more news as it comes along. As I stated at the beginning of the thread, everyone's encouraged to add news, feedback, comments, etc

I'm pro-weed all the way. Weed was a huge help to me. It might sound absolutely crazy, but even if it was for a brief hour or two, it was one of my biggest helps to get through my issues. It didn't erase my issues, it just helped calm me down until I found a solution to my issues.

The cures are always an interesting and amazing read for me. The fact that it's illegal is complete insanity. Does it kill brain cells? Probably. Did it make me have to think a second or two harder on math problems? Yes. Do I feel like I can solve any puzzle on it? Absolutely. This shit is genius seeds. I'm all in for legalization.

I used to smoke weed regularly when I was a teenager and then went through another phase when I was about 19 (by regularly, I don't mean every day...more like once every couple of weeks). I used to like getting stoned, but I could feel myself becoming more lazy and I was worried about it affecting my school grades so I stopped. I haven't smoked weed in about 5 years now...I much prefer alcohol anyway.

I do think it should be legalised though.

I completely agree with both LF and OGK on legalization..Just get it over with already. It's the safest plant on the planet, hence everyone should have access to it if they choose to..

All my life i was 100% drug free. i didnt take my first drink until my 21st birthday. Yeah i'm that much of a dork.

I met my fiance and he is a serious pot head....as are most of his friends. i was curious so i tried with him and his friends once or twice. it made me really paranoid and i had a nightmare. the second time I was really really turned on and we had marathon sex.

after that i never tried it again. My fiance and I have come to the agreement he isnt allowed to smoke around the kids or anywhere except our bedroom...or his car (like when he's at work. his coworkers are pot heads)

Overall I dont smoke except once in a blue moon i might take a hit off his bowl so he doesnt feel so bad smoking alone.

I support legalization because my fiance has rheumatoid arthritis in both his knees..as well as back troubles from being shot (then having surgery) in the military. I've watched him struggle to get out of bed due to that pain. But when he has something to smoke, it eases the pain and he can move a lot easier. (He doesnt like taking pain pills anyway...at one point in his life he tried to kill himself with them so he'd rather not take pain meds ever again)

                        that's my 2 cents...

                        Thank you Surrender!!!

One of the first times I smoked marijuana, I got such a bad high that I got the spins and started vomiting. I thought to myself, at that young age, that I would never do it again. Fortunately, I was young and never gave up! I quit for like two years a few years ago, but got back into it and haven't looked back ever since. I literally smoke at least a joint a day. Sometimes 2-3. Smoking alone has kind of become my thing as I only roll a small amount. To be honest, I don't get high like I used to, but the feeling of relief is still worth it. I would love to get blazed off my face again, though. However, that only happens at parties with multiple joints and blunts associated.

I'm still not an extreme pot head, because I haven't bothered to learn the craft of rolling blunts. I've stuck to joints and have been happy enough rolling that. Blunts is what gets you fried up, though. It just seems like too much messy effort to get to that.
