    Joey Styles: “In just a few moments, the WWE Intercontinental Championship is about to be decided, and like the challenger AJ Styles told the world last week on SUPERAW: Night of the Grudges, he wasn’t coming for a wrestling match, he was coming for a fight.”

    John Bradshaw Layfield: “Every time you get into the ring with Samoa Joe, you put your career on the line, somehow AJ Styles needs to match that intensity, but at the same time, he can’t be drawn into a brawl with Samoa Joe, because that is a fight he cannot win.”


    A video package plays showing the intense rivalry between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe that dates back all the way to last year. It shows various highlights of Samoa Joe dominating WWE superstars including Edge, AJ Styles, Bryan Danielson, Paul London and Rob Van Dam in his journey to the top. Then it shows highlights of the mini-tournament between Rob Van Dam, AJ Styles, CM Punk and Bryan Danielson. It shows AJ Styles defeating Rob Van Dam with a Super Styles Clash, and Bryan Danielson defeating CM Punk thanks to a distraction from Samoa Joe. Then it shows Danielson and Styles facing off and some highlights from the match only to have Samoa Joe attack both men viciously. It shows the meeting between Samoa Joe and Mick Foley announcing that Bryan Danielson was not medically cleared to compete, but AJ Styles was and then it shows the interview with AJ Styles, telling Joe not to expect a wrestling match, but a fight. It then shows some altercations between the two in the past before the video package ends.

    ‘Burn In My Light’ by Mercy Drive hits the speakers and AJ Styles appears on the stage to a huge pop from the crowd. AJ Styles removes his hood, revealing a bandage on his forehead where he was busted open two weeks ago, and then walks down to the ringside, clapping hands with the fans on his way down before he slides into the ring and continues his signature entrance, which is cut off as ‘I Stand Alone’ by Godsmack hits the speakers and the dominant WWE Intercontinental Champion, Samoa Joe appears on the stage to a chorus of boos from the crowd. He has a towel wrapped around his neck and he walks down to the ring, but Styles wastes no time running into the entrance aisle to greet him and the fight is on.

    Styles starts the match in complete control and pummels Joe with right hands on his back, bringing him to one knee. Styles then delivers a vicious kick to the side of Jo’s head which knocks him down to the floor. Styles lifts up Joe and throws him into the barricade and charges in but Joe gets his foot up. Joe then charges at Styles who ducks down and takes Joe over with a back body drop and Joe lands on the entrance ramp. AJ lifts Joe up by the head and then drags him to the ring side area before smashing Joe’s head against the ring apron and then throwing him into the ring.

    AJ has the advantage and doesn’t even allow Joe time to breathe before he is on the attack again, with no strategy or grace, just viciously mauling Joe with rights and lefts, Joe tries to block, but the onslaught is too much and Styles traps Joe in the corner and begins to drive the wind out of Joe with shoulder after shoulder into the ribs of Samoa Joe. Styles doesn’t let up for a second as he pulls Joe out of the corner and hits a suplex. AJ quickly covers but Joe kicks out. AJ doesn’t even wait for Joe to get to his feet as he attacks him with a couple of kicks to the body, AJ then snaps Joe over with a snapmare and then delivers a stiff kick to the back of Samoa Joe as the crowd echoes the stiffness of the kick. AJ continues the assault, standing above Joe stomping his head face first into the mat.

    AJ lifts Joe to his feet and catches him with a knife edge chop, suddenly something inside Joe snaps and he fires back with a quick flurry of chops and slaps to the face. Joe then runs off the ropes, but Styles sees him coming and leaps over him, then ducks down as Joe leaps over and connects with a dropkick and Joe is badly stunned. AJ gets fired up by the crowd as Joe struggles to his feet, AJ then looks for a kick to the side of the face but Joe ducks it, however AJ then turns his body and connects with a spinning wheel kick that takes Joe down. Styles covers…1…2…kickout.

    AJ wastes no time in continuing the attack on Joe, he lifts Joe to his feet then slaps Joe around twice, Joe looks for a slap of his own but Styles ducks it and then leaps into the air with a hurricanrana! AJ hooks the legs…1….2….kickout. Styles gets to his feet first and waits for Joe to get up, AJ then knocks Joe back into the corner with a dropkick. AJ then gets the crowd involved as he climbs to the top rope and begins to punch away at the forehead of Samoa Joe….1…2…3….4….5…6…7…8…9…10 as the crowd chants along to each one, when Samoa Joe pushes AJ off of him. AJ gets right back up and mounts Joe again but Samoa Joe pushes him off again, AJ again charges in but Joe charges right back and surprises him with a hard clothesline. Samoa Joe takes a moment to recover himself, but just as he stands over AJ, Styles surprises him with a kip up Hurricanrana from the ground, shifting the momentum back to AJ Styles.

    Samoa Joe is in serious trouble, not once in his entire time in SUPERAW has he been someone taken the fight to him like this. Styles continues his relentless assault as Joe struggles back to his feet, AJ runs off the ropes and springboards into a backflip behind Joe, catching him by the neck and dropping him with an Inverted DDT! Styles covers…1…2…kickout! AJ is fast to his feet while Joe is still reeling from this assault as AJ picks up speed and runs off the ropes, catching Joe with a modified swinging neckbreaker! Styles covers again but Joe kicks out. AJ then mounts Joe, punching him with unblocked shots to the face of Joe until the referee forces some degree of separation. AJ then goes back on the attack, he sits Joe up and delivers another kick to the back of Joe before trapping the Samoan in a headlock.

    AJ Styles has Samoa Joe grounded on the canvas as a sign of frustration begins to show on the face of Samoa Joe and he forces his way back to a vertical base.. Joe begins to elbow away at Styles to break the grip and then seeing an opening opens up on Styles with a series of open handed palm strikes and kicks. Joe continues the attack with a couple of really stiff kicks to Styles and then a running dropkick to that knocks Styles out to the ground. Joe slides out of the ring to continue the attack on Styles, he lifts AJ to his feet on the outside and hits a couple chops but then AJ strikes back with the Pele Kick, and both men are down on the floor. AJ has taken the less damage of the two and is the first to his feet, he climbs to the apron as Joe gets to a vertical base, Joe then swings his leg at AJ’s legs, taking AJ’s feet from under him as AJ crashes face first on the apron. Joe then grabs AJ and swings him around before throwing him head and shoulder first into the barricade on the outside.

    The referee comes to the outside of the ring to demand some separation and Joe slides back into the ring. The referee begins his count on Styles as the Phenomenal One slowly gets to his feet. Joe sees AJ begin to recover so he charges at Styles and lunges through the middle rope, taking out Styles with a Suicide Dive and both men are down on the outside! Joe gets to his feet slowly as Styles is still down, Joe walks over to the time keeper and grabs a Steel Chair. Joe sets it up as the referee comes outside to abmonish Joe. The Samoan Submission Machine places Styles on the chair and then creates some distance for the Ole Kick. The referee yells at Joe but Joe pushes him aside and then charges but AJ Styles recovers and surprises Joe with a clothesline. AJ takes a couple of moments to recover and then leaps over the barricade to the crowd side. He waits for Joe to get to his feet, and then AJ leaps to the barricade and then off with a Flying Forearm to the face of Joe knocking him down.

    AJ is in control and looks over at the steel chair and nods his head. AJ grabs Joe from the ground and sits him up on the chair before signaling for his own Ole Kick, he charges at Joe but like AJ, Joe sets up quickly and scores with a kick to the face, knocking down Styles. Joe then grabs AJ and sits him on the chair, slapping him a few times before creating some distance. Joe charges in and connects with the Ole Kick as Styles is dazed on the ground, Joe then slides into the ring to break up the referee’s count and then back out again. Joe notices that Styles is slowly getting to his feet so he signals for something big, the crowd tries to warn Styles as Joe charges at him from behind, AJ turns around and Joe leaps at him with a flying dropkick.

    Styles is in a bad way on the outside as Joe has turned the physicality up a notch. Joe slides AJ back into the ring and then traps him in the corner. Joe places his foot on the face of Styles and then tries to humiliate him with a pair of face washes using his boot. Something in Joe snaps as he then charges off the ropes and drives his knee into the head of AJ Styles, sandwiching it with his knee and the turnbuckle. Joe then takes a moment to recover himself as the crowd gets all over him and Joe just smiles, knowing that he is in complete control. Joe walks back over to AJ and lifts him to his feet, delivers a couple slaps and then throws him into the opposite corner. Joe then charges in as AJ gets his foot up and Joe runs into it, stunning him. AJ then charges at Joe but the champion recovers and takes AJ inside out with a vicious clothesline. Joe covers….1….2…kickout!

    Joe hears the sigh of relief from the crowd as Styles kicks out. Joe smiles and points to each side of the crowd, mocking them before he locks AJ Styles into a Boston Crab. Joe continues to apply the pressure to the back of AJ Styles as he pulls back the legs and AJ screams in pain. First AJ tries to battle out of the move by pushing upwards, however the weight of Samoa Joe is too much and Styles collapses. The referee checks on Styles to see if he wants to give up but he answers an emphatic no and then he pulls himself to the ropes slowly, Joe tries to pull him back but the resolve of AJ Styles is too much and he grabs the bottom rope and breaks the hold.

    Joe gets to his feet first and he stands over AJ Styles as the Phenomenal One slowly fights his way to his feet, and Joe delivers a stiff kick to the ribs of Styles and he goes into air, and then lands on all fours and Joe delivers another kick and Styles crashes stomach first on the canvas again. Joe then lifts Styles to his feet and gives him a few humiliating slaps before grabbing him by the neck, he snaps him with a snapmare and then chops him in the back, before delivering a stiff kick to the chest of AJ Styles. Samoa Joe then runs off the ropes and leaps into the air, dropping a knee to the neck of AJ Styles, taking out his wind.

    Joe waits for Styles to get to his knees and then he helps him to his feet, however AJ gets a burst of energy and fires back at Joe with a couple of forearms. AJ has an opening and he runs off the ropes and leaps into the air but Joe catches him in mid air and drops him with a flapjack! Joe covers…1…2…kickout! AJ struggles to his feet and Joe is on him fast, lifting him up to the top rope. Joe delivers a couple of shots and then climbs to the top ropes, looking for a Super-Plex, but AJ blocks it and then manages to push Joe off the top rope. Styles doesn’t waste any time, he leaps off the top rope and catches Joe with a Missile Dropkick! AJ struggles to get a shoulder on top of Joe and the referee counts…1…2…kickout!

    AJ slowly gets to his feet first and he challenges Joe to get up, finally Joe gets to his feet and Styles is on the attack with a couple of forearm shots. Styles then delivers a kick to the leg and then runs off the ropes but Joe is ready for him and he blocks a clothesline with a sidewalk slam. Joe doesn’t even wait for Styles to get to his feet before he delivers a sick stiff kick to the kidney of AJ Styles as he screams out in pain. Joe lifts AJ to his feet as the challenger fights back with a few more forearm shots but Joe counters with a leg sweep and AJ lands face first on the mat. Joe drops a knee to the back of AJ’s head and then covers but AJ kicks out.

    Joe then signals for the end and he gets behind AJ Styles and locks him in the Coquina Clutch. Joe reaches back in the choke and Styles scrambles around stuck in the hold, the referee goes to check on Styles and raises one hand, but it falls. The referee raises another one but it falls again, finally the referee raises the third one and Styles gets his arm up. Styles then manages to drag Joe a few feet and places his leg on the bottom rope, managing to break up the hold, Joe holds the Clutch for a few more seconds until the referee forces Samoa Joe to break up the hold.

    Joe gets to his feet and pulls AJ back to his feet, Styles is barely standing on his own as Joe goes on the attack a snapmare and a kick to the back. Joe then runs off the ropes and drops his entire body weight on AJ with a Senton Splash. Joe covers and the referee counts….1…2…AJ GETS HIS FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE! Joe gets up and argues with the referees as Styles slowly uses the ropes to get to his feet. Joe charges at Styles who lowers his head and manages to take Joe over the top rope to the floor as AJ collapses in the ring. Joe is down on the outside and AJ is the first to his feet, he notices that Joe is down and he charges at the ropes, leaping over them and landing on Samoa Joe with the Foxberry Flop and both men are down on the outside of the ring, as the battle begins to take its toll on both men.

    The referee begins his count on the outside as both men struggle to their feet. AJ is the first to his feet and he throws Joe into the ring as the count hits 8 and AJ stands on the apron and the referee breaks the count. AJ then springboards into the ring and drives a forearm into the back of Samoa Joe as he struggles to his feet, knocking him back down. AJ quickly tries a cover but Joe kicks out. Styles seems to have his second wind as he fights through the pain and he gets to his feet. Joe gets to his feet and Joe gets up as Styles attacks with a few forearm shots. AJ then looks for the discus punch but Joe slaps him in the face. AJ then stumbles around as Joe lifts him and catches him with a Samoan Drop. Joe covers…1…2…KICKOUT!

    Both men are winded and they struggle to get to their feet, but Joe is the first to his feet and he begins striking Styles with a couple of kicks that backs Styles into the corner. Styles’s eyes are glazed over as Joe catches his breath, Joe then charges in with a Splash but Styles moves at the last possible second. Joe stumbles out of the corner and AJ runs off the ropes but Joe recovers fast and catches AJ with an impossibly fast snap power-slam. Joe covers…1…2…kickout! AJ Styles kicked out and Joe can’t believe it, he grabs the referee and warns him that he had better count to three next time as AJ gets to his feet.

    AJ is back on his feet and Joe turns around and Styles catches him with a spinning heel kick. Joe gets to his feet quickly and Styles takes him down with a Standing Spin Kick, Joe is stunned, but AJ knows that its not enough and doesn’t bother going for the cover, instead he waits for Joe to get to a vertical base and then climbs to the second rope. Joe turns around and Styles leaps off with a Tornado DDT! Styles covers but somehow JOE KICKS OUT! Styles can’t believe that Joe kicked out and the Samoan Submission Machine is damaged on the canvas. Styles notices that Joe isn’t getting to his feet, he then stands over Joe and hits a Standing Shooting Styles Press! Styles then covers….1….2….KICKOUT!

    Joe gets to his feet slowly and AJ senses that he might be able to finish off the champion. AJ steps out to the apron and then waits for Joe to get to his feet. Styles springboards off the top rope but Joe sees him coming and catches him with a powerbomb! Joe is stunned and troubles to make the count, but at the last moment Joe hooks the leg…1…2…KICKOUT! AJ is in serious trouble as Joe gets to his feet, AJ hasn’t moved and Joe signals for the end and lifts AJ to his feet, Joe runs off the ropes but Styles surprises EVERYONE with a Pele Kick, nearly knocking Joe unconscious. AJ fights to his feet and then covers….1….2….FOOT ON THE ROPE!

    AJ fights to his feet, but then stumbles, however he notices Joe down on the mat and gets the extra surge of energy necessary to get to his feet. AJ looks over and sees Joe on his feet, stumbling around, unable to maintain his balance fully. AJ sees the opportunity and runs at the ropes and springboards into an Inverted DDT, but Joe catches him in mid air and drives him to the mat with an ISLAND DRIVER! Joe puts his arm over AJ and the crowd senses this is the end, the referee counts…1…2…KICKOUT! AJ continues to fight on. Joe is becoming incredibly frustrated as he lifts AJ to his feet and yells at him to stay down but AJ fights back with another PELE KICK! And both men are down in the center of the ring, and the referee begins the standing 10 count.

    AJ is slow to get to his feet, but he is the first one. He waits for Joe to get to his feet and as he does, Joe collapses into the corner, AJ charges in and leaps, driving his knee into the face of Samoa Joe. Joe stumbles out of the corner and Styles kicks him and sets up for the Styles Clash, he tries to get him up but can’t so instead he hits a Power Bomb! Joe is down, undefeated streak is over…1….2…KICKOUT! AJ can’t believe it and argues with the referee, but this gives time and AJ turns around, Joe is on his feet and he hits him with a standing enziguri, nearly knocking AJ out cold. Joe is down, AJ is down, its gutcheck time for both men.

    Both men get to their knees and are face to face when Joe slaps AJ, and AJ fires back with a slap of his own to Joe, the two men exchange slaps and right hands while battling to their feet, AJ hits a forearm shot with staggers Joe, and then goes all out with several right hands, but Joe comes back with a series of quick strikes, he slaps Styles and AJ turns around with the DISCUS CLOTHESLINE! Joe is down and AJ lifts Joe up, signaling for the Styles Clash, he lifts him up and connects with his finisher! Joe is down, this is it….1….2….

    KICKOUT! Joe kicked out of the Styles Clash! AJ doesn’t know what else to do, but he continues the assault none-the less. AJ climbs to the top rope, hoping to hit a high risk move to finish the match, but Joe pushes the referee into the ropes, which knocks AJ off balance. Joe struggles to his feet and then leaps into the air with a jump kick that connects with the back of Styles head. Joe senses the match is finished as he grabs AJ, lifting him up and then driving him down with the Muscle Buster! Joe covers…1….2…..

    KICKOUT! AJ just kicked out of the Muscle Buster. Joe can’t believe it and doesn’tk know what its going to take to keep AJ down. AJ struggles to his feet and Joe again hits him with open strikes, punishing Styles but AJ fights back with forearm shots and the two go toe to toe, Styles gets the advantage then hits an Enziguri, it staggers Joe and AJ hits another one which knocks Joe down. Joe’s eyes are glossy and AJ has to take advantage of it now. He goes to the corner and then charges at Joe but Samoa Joe is ready and catches him with a Belly to Belly Suplex and Styles crashes into the corner, his leg hitting the turnbuckle.

    Joe doesn’t know what else to do, so he places AJ’s head on the turnbuckle, he runs off the ropes and drives his knee into the head of AJ, sandwiching it between his knee and the turnbuckle. Joe is winded and he struggles to his feet, and he sees the glossy look in the face of AJ, so he runs off the ropes and again sandwiches AJ’s head with his knee and the turnbuckle. Joe is now relentless as he runs off the ropes and knees him in the face again, and again, and finally a 5th time, Joe sandwiches AJ’s head between his knee and the turnbuckle and AJ collapses to the canvas. Joe collapses down to one knee, having expelled nearly all his energy, the referee goes to check on AJ, but AJ is completely knocked out and the referee has no choice but to call for the bell.

    Spoiler
    The referee raises Joe’s hand in the air, and Joe is so exhausted that he can barely stand to his feet, the referee hands him his belt and the exhausted Joe just slides out of the ring and limps to the isleway. The referee again checks on AJ Styles who apparently has regained consciousness in the ring, but hasn’t been able to get to his feet yet.

    Joey Styles: “I don’t think we have ever seen a more courageous fight than what AJ Styles gave tonight, he layed everything down and took it to Samoa Joe, he refused to lose”

    John Bradshaw Layfield: “I have tremendous respect for AJ Styles, but at the sametime, Samoa Joe was willing to do anything necessary, including knock AJ Styles out cold so he couldn’t compete, to retain that title, the question now, is knowing what Samoa Joe is willing to do to retain that title, who the hell is going to take it from him?”


    The crowd goes silent as AJ slowly struggles to his feet and then erupts with thunderous applause as AJ is able to stand alone on his own two feet as AJ’s music plays and the cameras shift again.

    The cameras shift backstage again to Mick Foley and Jessica Alba in the Royal Rumble lottery room and the two are chatting away when David Flair and the Nature Boy Ric Flair enter the arena. Ric Flair walks up to Jessica Alba and kisses her on the hand.

    Ric Flair: “Wow, aren’t you something, tell you what after this show is over, the Nature Boy will take out on a limousine ride, and then we can go back to his five star hotel, order some champagne and take an all night ride on Space Mountain…WOO”

    Alba laughs at the WOO, but doesn’t quite understand the context of Space Mountain and Foley does his best to change the subject real fast.

    Mick Foley: “The two of you here for your Royal Rumble lottery numbers tonight?”

    Ric Flair: “Just David tonight, tonight it’s his turn to be the jet flying, limousine riding….”

    Mick Foley: “I think I know the rest”


    Jessica Alba reaches her hand into the lottery and hands David Flair his number, both he and his father look at it, David looks uncertain but his father gives a reassuring WOOO” David returns the WOOO and then leaves as Ric watches him leave. Once Ric sees his son leave, he takes a look back at the Royal Rumble lottery and quickly takes a number, holding his finger up to silence Mick Foley.

    Jessica Alba: “What’s Space Mountain?”

    Mick Foley rolls this eyes and shakes his head as the cameras shift and ‘Attack’ once again plays as Joey Styles and John Bradshaw Layfield recognize it as the official theme song of the Royal Rumble.

    A pre-recorded video package begins to play with several WWE superstars sharing their feelings about the upcoming Royal Rumble match later tonight.

    Brent Albright: “30 men, one dream the chance of a lifetime, while I know I may not be the odds on favorite, that works for me just fine, because when the dust settles, Brent Albright is heading to Wrestlemania”

    Kurt Angle: “Just like in the Olympics, everyone is out there for the same prize, and just like the Olympics, it will be Kurt Angle who receives the ultimate prize.”

    Rob Van Dam: “There is gonna be 30 men in that ring, bodies flying, careers changing and when the dust settles, the last man standing in that ring will be ROB VAN DAM”

    Rey Mysterio: “The odds are stacked against me once again, but I wouldn’t have it any other way, I may be the smallest man in the Royal Rumble match, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

    John Cena: “For the chance to Main Event at Wrestlemania, I would kill for the opportunity, I feel sorry for the 29 other men who dare to get in my way”

    The cameras shift back to Mick Foley and Jessica Alba who are standing around chatting when they are interrupted as Edge comes into the office to draw his number for the Royal Rumble. Jessica spins the lottery as Edge reaches his hand inside.

    Jessica Alba: “Good luck Edge”

    Edge: “Thanks”


    Edge opens the capsule and looks inside at his number and suddenly the smile disappears from his face, he shakes his head and then turns around and runs straight into the monster ABYSS. Edge walks around him and Abyss walks over and stares down Alba, making her extremely uncomfortable. Mitchell tells Abyss to back off and Abyss reaches his large hand into the lottery and grabs a ball. Mitchell opens the capsule and then smiles at Abyss and starts laughing.

    Father James Mitchell: “Victory is at hand”

    Abyss once again starts standing over Jessica Alba when Father James Mitchell signals for their exit and the two men leave and Alba looks at Foley who reassures her that everything is ok, before a video package begins highlighting the buildup to America’s Most Wanted vs. Generation Next.

    A video package plays highlighting the lead into the WWE Tag Team Championship Match, it shows AMW winning the WWE Tag Team Championship at Summerslam and then Foley announcing the Best 2/3 Series between Generation Next and the WGTT. It shows WGTT win the first match, and Gen Next win the second and third to earn a Tag Team Title Shot at America’s Most Wanted.

    ‘Generation Next Ain’t Nothin To Fuck With’ hits the speakers as Austin Aries and Alex Shelley appear on the stage to a chorus of pops from the crowd. Aries and Shelley make their way down to the ring, getting involved with the crowd as they do, they slide into the ring as ‘Guilty’ hits the speakers and the WWE Tag Team Champions, America’s Most Wanted appears on the stage to a mixed reaction, mostly cheers from the crowd. AMW comes down to the ring and steps into the ring. Both teams talk strategy and decide who is going to start the match.

    Austin Aries and Chris Harris begin the match for their respective teams and lock up in the center of the ring, Aries does a go behind into a waist lock and tries to maneuver but Harris quickly blocks it with an elbow. Harris runs off the ropes and Aries catches him with an arm drag takedown. Harris gets up and Aries is quickly on the attack with a dropkick, followed by a second drop kick. Aries gets to his feet and he throws Harris into the ropes and he lowers his head, and Harris slows down and kicks him in the face, stunning him. Aries turns around and Harris knocks him with clothesline and then makes the tag to James Storm.

    James Storm gets to his feet and goes on the attack with a couple right hands, he then sends Aries into the ropes and plants Aries with a reverse elbow. Storm waits for Aries to get to his feet and he delivers a side kick which knocks Aries back into the corner. Storm throws Aries into the opposite corner and he crashes in, but Aries uses the top rope to slingshot over him. Storm turns around and Aries tries a standing dropkick but Storm catches him and slingshots him into the top rope. Aries manages to land on his feet and turns around as Storm charges at him with a standing dropkick that knocks him off balance on the top rope.

    Storm makes the tag to Harris who comes into the ring. Harris immediately climbs to the top rope and tries to lift up Aries with a super-plex but Aries fights it and pushes Harris off. Aries then stands on the top rope and leaps off with a Flying Crossbody and connects, crashing into Chris Harris. Aries gets to his feet and he makes the tag to Alex Shelley. Shelley comes into the ring and takes down Harris with a clothesline. Storm comes in and Shelley takes him down with a dropkick and then a clothesline which takes Storm over the top rope. Shelley turns around and Harris catches him with an atomic drop, he then runs off the ropes and scores with a clothesline!

    Storm fights back to the apron and tags in, he climbs to the second rope as Harris twists the arm of Shelley and Storm comes off with a axe handle, knocking down Shelley. Storm lifts up Shelley and hits a backbreaker and covers, but the referee only gets to a count of 2. Storm slams Shelley down with a body slam and then makes the tag back into Chris Harris. Harris comes into the ring and lifts Shelleyto his feet, delivering multiple shots to the back of Alex Shelley before hooking the arm, lifting him into the air and holding him for a couple of moments, Harris walks around the ring and then drops Shelley with a Vertical Suplex and covers…1…2…kickout.

    Harris gets to his feet and he tags in James Storm as the two men keep the fresh man in at all times. Storm grabs Shelley and charges with a running bulldog and he drops him Shelley’s head on Harris’s knee. Storm goes for the cover but Shelley manages to kick out at 2. Storm picks up Shelley and throws him into the AMW corner. Storm then charges at Shelley and drives his knee into the head of Alex Shelley. Shelley staggers out of the ring and Storm lifts him up and connects with a flapjack. Storm covers….1….2….Aries breaks up the count.

    Storm grounds Alex Shelley with a headlock as Shelley tries to battle out of it, Shelley fights to his feet with the crowd behind him and elbows his way out of it, he runs off the ropes but Storm fires back with a clothesline, killing the momentum before tagging in Harris. Storm then lifts up Shelley for a Powerbomb as Harris grabs him and they hit the Power-Plex! Harris covers and Austin Aries breaks up the count again! Chris Harris continues the assault, he lifts up Alex Shelley in a fireman’s carry and then launches him into the air before sticking out his knee as Shelley’s face lands on his knee and Shelley rebounds off in pain. Harris then instantly turns around and knocks down Aries with a right hand. Harris then covers Shelley….1…2…kickout!

    Harris waits for Shelley to get to his feet and the Gen Next member is slow to his feet as Harris charges in with a flying shoulderblock that knocks Shelley back into the AMW corner. Harris then tags in Storm and the Tennessee Cowboy traps him in the corner with a series of stiff boots. Storm tags in Harris and the two men continue their double team, throwing Shelley into the ropes and then vaulting him into the air with a double flapjack and Shelley lands face first again. Harris covers but once again Aries comes in and breaks up the count.

    Alex Shelley is in trouble as America’s Most Wanted continues their double team as Harris tags Storm back into the ring. Storm waits for Shelley to get to his feet as he charges at him with a swinging neckbreaker. Storm doesn’t even bother covering, instead he sits Shelley up and drives his knee into the back of Shelley while pulling back at his neck, applying more pressure to the neck of Alex Shelley. Aries tries to get the crowd into it on the other side of the ring as Shelley begins to react as he fights back to his feet, he delivers some elbows to Harris to break the hold, Shelley then grabs Harris and takes him over with an arm drag and floats over into a standing dropkick and both men are down.

    Shelley and Harris are both down in the center of the ring and Harris gets to his feet first and dives to make a tag to Storm. The Tennessee Cowboy runs over and catches Shelley by the foot and drags him back before Aries can make the tag. Storm then waits for Shelley to get to his feet, forcing him to use even more energy each time, Shelley gets to his feet and Storm grabs him for a bulldog and swings around with the EIGHT SECOND RIDE. Storm covers but once again Austin Aries breaks up the count.

    Harris and Storm begin to get a little frustrated and Storm turns and attacks Aries. Austin comes into the ring but the referee cuts him off and AMW double teams Shelley in the corner, stomping him around, The referee comes over, so Harris leaves the ring and then Harris tags right back in. Harris climbs to the top rope as Storm lifts him up in a Power Bomb as Harris comes off the top rope with a dropkick at the same time with a Powerbomb/Dropkick combination. Harris covers and again Aries breaks up the count.

    Aries is really determined to get into the match as Shelley struggles under the AMW onslaught. Harris lifts up Shelley and throws him into the ropes, Harris tries a clothesline but Shelley ducks it and springboards off the second rope into a Flying Crossbody and both men are down. Shelley has been put through hell and he is slow to get to his feet. He drags himself over to the corner as Harris tags in Storm and James tries to grab Shelley, but he makes the tag and Austin Aries comes in. Aries lifts up Storm with an atomic drop, then hits a kick to the knee of Storm, which brings him to one knee, before he delivers an Enziguri Kick to the side of his head.

    Harris comes into the ring and attacks Aries from behind, he throws Aries into the ropes and tries a dropkick, but Aries grabs the ropes and puts on the break. Harris sits up and Aries delivers a standing dropkick. Aries then turns over to Storm and goes for a Hurricanrana, Storm blocks it, but Aries fights back with a few right hands, knocking Storm back into the ropes and then Aries completes the hurricanrana, taking Storm over the top rope and Aries lands on the apron. Harris gets to his feet on the inside of the ring and he sees Aries on the apron and so he charges at him with a suicide dive, but Aries ducks and Harris flies through the ropes and crashes into his partner. Aries fights to his feet and then turns springboards off the top rope into a corkscrew moonsault and all three men are down.

    Both members of America’s Most Wanted manage to get to their feet at the same time as Austin Aries and the two men double team him on the outside but Alex Shelley is in the ring and he sees it, so he runs off the ropes and leaps over with a No Hands Somersault Plancha taking out all three men and everybody is down on the outside of the ring. Alex Shelley is the first one to his feet and he grabs Chris Harris and throws him into the ring. Shelley slides into the ring and goats Harris into a clothesline, Shelley ducks it and then connects with the BACKCRACKER! Shelley then turns around as James Storm is on his feet and he runs at him, taking him out with a baseball slide.

    Austin Aries is back on his feet and he climbs to the apron and then notices that Harris is down in the ring so he climbs all the way to the top rope and prepares to finish the match, he leaps off with a 450 Splash but at the last moment Harris gets his knees up and Aries crashes to the canvas. Harris fights to his feet and looks to end it, he grabs Aries and connects with the CATATONIC! Harris covers as Shelley climbs to the top rope and leaps off with a Guillotine Leg Drop on Harris which breaks up the count. Shelley gets to his feet and feels an adrenaline rush but he turns around and Storm nearly takes his head off with a Superkick.

    Storm lifts up Harris and points to the top rope as he grabs Shelley in a bearhug as Harris climbs. Harris leaps off and AMW hit the DEATH SENTENCE on Alex Shelley. Storm covers…1…2…ARIES BREAKS UP THE COUNT! Aries gets to his feet as AMW double team him, they throw him into the ropes and both men lower their head as Aries flips over both of them. Aries then suckers both of them into charging at him as he low bridges both of them out of the ring. Aries sees his opportunity and he climbs to the top rope, and then begins WALKING THE TOP ROPE! Aries gets to the middle and then leaps off with a Standing Shooting Star Press and all three men are out on the floor.

    Alex Shelley is still down in the center of the ring as the three men battle to their feet on the outside. Both members of AMW get to their feet first, Harris slides into the ring while Storm tries to get into the ring but Aries grabs him and pulls him back, scoring a knockdown. Suddenly the crowd makes noise as NIGEL MCGUINNESS leaps over the barricade and grabs Austin Aries, hitting him in the face with brass knucks! Aries is out on the outside as Harris slides back into the ring. Storm looks at Harris and then lifts up Shelley in a Tilt-A-Whirl and then positions him near Harris as they hit the HIGH NOON (Storm: Flapjack/Harris: Stunner). Shelley is out and Aries is out on the outside. Harris hooks the leg…1…2..3!

    AMW celebrate their victory in the ring as the referee hands the WWE Tag Team Titles to Chris Harris and James Storm. AMW turn around to the entrance ramp and see Nigel McGuinness standing on the stage staring down Alex Shelley in the middle of the ring while Austin Aries remains knocked out on the outside.

    Joey Styles: “What the hell was that, why is Nigel McGuinness even here?”

    John Bradshaw Layfield: “Why is he here, and why did he attack Generation Next, I do know one thing, he is a tough son of a bitch, and AMW are still the Tag Team Champions”

    Joey Styles: “Indeed they are, but after a match like that, you wanna see it end clean, the better team winning, not in controversy like that”

    The camera then shifts to the interview area where Maria Kanellis is standing by with the evil enigma, Sting.

    Maria Kanellis: “Sting, tonight 30 men one ring, what are your thoughts?”

    Sting: “My thoughts are simple, I see 29 men, all with their dreams, their fears and their insecurities, you see tonight they wont realize their dreams, but they will come face to face with their darkest fear, their deepest insecurities. Tonight, I break the hearts of 29 men, there 29 casualties that are waiting for their dreams to turn into nightmares, tonight there will be blood shed, tears cried, dreams broken, and one man left at the end, amongst the ruins of tortured souls and dreams, I will stand victorious in their pain”

    The cameras shift back to the main arena at the announcers table with Joey Styles and John Bradshaw Layfield.

    Joey Styles: “Ladies and Gentlemen, in just a few moments the WWE Championship will be on the line, it is the most prestigious title this industry has to offer, and many have devoted their lives to the pursuit of this title,.”

    John Bradshaw Layfield: “No question about it, that’s what the Royal Rumble is all about, the chase for the championship!”

    Joey Styles: “Lets take a look at how the champion Brock Lesnar, and the challenger Chris Benoit have spent the last two weeks, preparing for this moment!”


    A video package is shown highlighting the recent training sessions that both Brock Lesnar and Chris Benoit have endured in preparation for this encounter. It shows Brock Lesnar running up the stairs of an empty stadium, it shows Benoit lifting weights in a gym It shows Brock doing chin-ups in a gym, shows Benoit wrestling on the mat with a trainer and various other aerobics while discussing the importance of the match.

    The cameras then shift backstage where AJ Styles is sitting with the WWE trainer in the locker-room.

    Trainer: “AJ your in pretty bad shape, its tough to say but I wouldn’t recommend going out there again tonight, you might have a concussion.”

    AJ Styles: “Look, I don’t care if I have a broken leg, nothing is going to keep me from the Royal Rumble tonight, now just give me a shot so I can get back out there!”

    Trainer: Alright, but let it be known that I highly recommend you sit the night out.

    AJ Styles: “I heard you the first time, just do it!”


    The trainer gives AJ a shot of something and the camera shifts again and we see Samoa Joe walking through the halls when he bumps into CM PUNK!

    Samoa Joe: “Get out of my way”

    CM Punk: “But of course, but just so you know tonight, in the Royal Rumble there is no place that you can hide, you can’t run away and hide under your undefeated streak”

    Samoa Joe: “You like to run your mouth, watch your back tonight, or I am gonna shove your teeth down your throat.”


    Joe lunges at Punk to punk him out but Punk just stands there and smiles, completely unphased by the Samoan. Punk then walks right by him and Joe turns around and watches him leave as the camera shifts again.

    The camera shifts back to Mick Foley and Jessica Alba in the RAW GM office when Kurt Angle enters the room to select his number.

    Jessica Alba: “Good luck Kurt”

    Kurt Angle: “Luck, I don’t need luck, don’t you know who I am”

    Jessica Alba: “Uhhh”

    Kurt Angle: “I’m Kurt Angle, I won an Olympic Gold Medal with a broken freakin neck, and now that I am completely healthy, winning the Royal Rumble will be easy, in fact it doesn’t matter what number I draw, so pick it for me”


    Jessica reaches into the lottery machine and grabs a ball and hands it to Kurt Angle, Angle opens it and his face goes stone cold for a second before handing the ball back to Jessica Alba.

    Kurt Angle: “I’m gonna win the Royal Rumble tonight, its true, its…..

    Kurt Angle feels a presence behind him and stops in mid sentence. He turns around and sees Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas of the World’s Greatest Tag Team.

    Shelton Benjamin: “Make no mistake Kurt, if either of us get the opportunity, we won’t think twice about throwing you over the top rope”

    Charlie Haas: “And that my friend (sarcastic), is TRUE!”


    Angle starts intensely at Benjamin & Haas as the cameras shift as a video package begins highlighting the feud between Brock Lesnar and Chris Benoit.

    JUDGMENT DAY 2005 – Brock Lesnar reverses the Crossface into the F-5 inside the Elimination Chamber to win the WWE Championship. Chris Benoit does not receive a re-match after assaulting owner Vince McMahon. EDDIE GUERRERO TRIBUTE SHOW – Chris Benoit faces off against Brock Lesnar and wins with a Crossface/rollup. HIGH STAKES – Benoit and Cena face off in a #1 contenders match, Benoit wins with the Crossface, Lesnar punks out Benoit post match. NIGHT OF THE GRUDGES – Benoit/Lesnar team up against the Rottweilers, Lesnar keeps breaking up the count but refuses to tag in, ensuring Benoit gets beaten down. Lesnar & Benoit win, and Benoit locks Lesnar in the Crossface until the refs pull him off.

    The camera returns to the ring where Lilian Garcia is in the middle of the ring with a microphone.

    Lilian Garcia: “Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the moment that you have all been waiting for, for the biggest prize in the industry. The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the WWE CHAMPIONSHIP!”

    ‘Whatever’ by Our Lady Peace hits the speakers and Chris Benoit appears on the stage to a great pop from the crowd. Benoit salutes them by pounding his chest and then walks to the ring to a great reception from the crowd. Benoit slides into the ring and his music fades as the sounds of Godzilla thunder over the speakers before ‘The Champ Is Here’ blasts over the speakers and the WWE CHAMPION, BROCK LESNAR appears on the stage to an equal pop from the crowd. Lesnar stays on the stage and bounces around as explosions rock the stage behind him. Lesnar is ready for war and he walks down to the ring as the crowd chants along to the song around him. Lesnar approaches the ring and leaps to the apron, the two men meet in the middle of the ring with a stare down before both men back off to their corners and the referee starts the bell.


    WWE Championship Match
    Brock Lesnar (champion) vs. Chris Benoit


    The match begins with a collar and elbow tieup and Lesnar is the first to gain an advantage with a hammerlock on Chris Benoit, the Rabid Wolverine turns so the leverage is altered but Lesnar grabs him in a side headlock, Benoit looks for an out but Lesnar grabs him by the hand, Benoit rolls through the pressure and surprises Lesnar with an arm drag takedown, and both men stare each other down again. They lock up again in the middle of the ring and Benoit tries to force Lesnar back to the corner, but Lesnar just overpowers him and throws him back towards the center of the ring. Benoit backs off slowly as Lesnar’s confidence begins to rise and he calls the challenger to him.

    Both men lock up in the middle of the ring again and once again Lesnar overpowers him and sends him back towards the corner. This time Lesnar charges in and lifts up Benoit, driving him into the corner turnbuckle. Lesnar has Benoit trapped in the corner and he begins to drive the shoulder into Benoit’s ribs. Lesnar throws Benoit into the opposite corner and charges in but Benoit moves out fo the way and Lesnar hits the turnbuckle sternum first, Benoit then takes Lesnar down with a headlock. Lesnar quickly gets to his feet and elbows out of it. Lesnar than runs off the ropes and takes Benoit down with a shoulder tackle. Lesnar then runs off the ropes as Benoit sits up and Lesnar delivers a kick to the side of Benoit’s head, knocking him down.

    Benoit rolls out of the ring and Lesnar looks to join him but the referee cuts him off, allowing Chris Benoit the chance to recover in the early goings of the match. Benoit slides back into the ring and the two men wait for a second before locking up, Lesnar uses his power again to push Benoit into the corner, Benoit looks for a way out but Lesnar refuses to break the tieup so Benoit maneuvers around and then both men go through the ropes to the floor. Both men get to their feet and slide back into the ring at the same time.

    Both men lock up again, Lesnar uses his power to put Benoit on the mat, but Benoit is faster and he moves out of it on top of Lesnar with a waist lock, but Lesnar maneuvers out of it and gets on top of Benoit, who looks for an escape but Lesnar locks in the waist lock so when Benoit rolls through Lesnar retains the grip, Benoit realizes this and rolls so that Lesnar is beneath him with his shoulder down but Lesnar maneuvers out of it before the referee can get a good count, Lesnar gets on top of Benoit again, but Benoit maneuvers out of it and then grabs Lesnar by the arm and pulls him into the Crossface, but Lesnar’s legs are right by the ropes and he easily reaches them so the referee forces Benoit to release the hold.

    Lesnar gets back to his feet and the two men lock up again, this time Lesnar pushes Benoit back into the corner. Lesnar charges in but Benoit moves and traps Lesnar in the corner with knife edge chops. Benoit throws Lesnar into the opposite corner but Lesnar counters and throws Benoit into the corner, the challenger hits hard against the turnbuckle and Lesnar grabs him and takes him over with a Belly to Belly Suplex. Benoit gets back to his feet and Lesnar grabs him in a headlock and spins him down to the ground. Benoit tries to fight his way out of it and then slips behind into a hammerlock, Benoit tries to hold on but Lesnar gets back to his feet and elbows his way out of it. Lesnar then charges at Benoit who executes a simple drop-toe hold and goes back to the headlock, keeping Lesnar on the ground. However Lesnar gets to his feet quickly and pushes Benoit into the ropes and knocks him down with a shoulder.

    Lesnar gets back to his feet and runs off the ropes, Benoit sees him coming so he drops down and Lesnar leaps over him, Lesnar runs at him again and Benoit sees him coming and takes him over with a hiptoss back into a headlock and the champion begins to show some signs of frustration. Lesnar fights back to one knee and then powers his way out of the headlock by lifting Benoit’s arms above his head, Lesnar then swings at Benoit who ducks it and then takes him right back down with a headlock, keeping Lesnar on the mat and frustrating him even more. Lesnar powers his way back to his feet again, and pushes Benoit into the corner, he lowers his head and Benoit connects with a kick to the face and then runs off the ropes and Lesnar lifts him into the air with a Gorilla Press and then throws him to the outside of the ring over the top rope and Benoit crashes hard on the outside.

    Lesnar’s frustration once again begins to take control of him as he slides to the outside of the ring and lifts up Chris Benoit, and throws him into the steel steps. Lesnar then stands on top of Benoit’s neck, using the barricade as support as the referee yells at him to get back into the ring. Lesnar has the advantage now and he throws Benoit back into the ring, Lesnar delivers a shot to the back of the head of Chris Benoit with a kick and then lifts him to his feet before throwing him over with a standing belly to belly suplex. Lesnar goes for the cover but Benoit kicks out at 2.

    Lesnar doesn’t get frustrated this time, instead he stays on the attack with a kick to the ribs of Chris Benoit. Benoit is down and Lesnar lifts him back up, he then tries another Gorilla Press Slam but Benoit lands behind him and pushes him into the ropes, looking for a rollup…1…2….kickout. Lesnar gets to his feet and catches Benoit running in with a Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker, ending the momentum of Chris Benoit. Lesnar attempts another pin, but Benoit kicks out. Benoit is in trouble and Lesnar begins to wear him down, grapevining the legs around Benoit’s waist and then locking him in a sleeperhold on the ground and Benoit begins to fade. Benoit manages to break the sleeper, but Lesnar maintains the bodyscissors and begins to wear down the ribs of Chris Benoit!

    The crowd starts to get behind Chris Benoit as he fights his way to his feet, breaking the body scissors and then elbowing at the ribs of Brock Lesnar, trying to create some separation, Benoit then gets some momentum behind him, but Lesnar is ready and drives the knee into the ribs of Chris Benoit and Lesnar has the opening that he needed. Lesnar lifts Benoit up and drops him down on the knee with a rib-breaker, however Lesnar doesn’t drop him, instead he lifts him back up for a second rib-breaker and then drops him on the mat. Lesnar covers…1…2…kickout! Lesnar then traps Benoit in the corner with several kicks to the ribs of Chris Benoit, who fights to his feet, but that just allows Lesnar to drive his shoulder into the ribs of Chris Benoit in the corner multiple times as the air is slowly driven out of Chris Benoit which each shoulder of Lesnar.

    Benoit collapses in the corner and Lesnar continues to punish him in the corner with kick after kick, well placed into the ribs of Chris Benoit who can’t even get to his feet on his own. Lesnar lifts Benoit back to his feet and Benoit catches him by surprise with a couple knife edge chops, but Lesnar just powers through him with a clothesline, retaking momentum again. Lesnar then decides to toy with Chris Benoit, he lifts him to his feet and then takes him into the air with a suplex and holds him there for a few seconds, the crowd goes silent as Benoit is held upside down and the blood flows to his head before Lesnar drops him with a suplex. Lesnar covers, but Benoit manages to kick out at 2 once again.
    Frustration begins to build on the face of Brock Lesnar and he throws Chris Benoit into the corner and once again begins to pick apart the ribs of Chris Benoit with shoulder after shoulder, trapping Benoit in the corner, driving the air out of the challenger. Benoit tries to fight out of the corner with chops and forearms but Lesnar picks him up and charges at the turnbuckle, driving Benoit’s back into the turnbuckle with tremendous velocity. Lesnar then charges towards Benoit and once again drives his shoulder into the ribs of Chris Benoit. Lesnar throws Benoit into the opposite corner and charges in but Benoit moves at the last second and Lesnar crashes shoulder first into the steel ring post!

    Lesnar is down but the damage done to Benoit is severe as he takes precious time to recover, as Lesnar gets to his feet, Benoit digs down and charges at Lesnar hitting him with a shoulder tackle, Lesnar staggers and Benoit hits him again with a shoulder tackle, and a third time, finally Benoit connects with a dropkick to the knee, which takes the champion off his feet. Benoit gets to his feet first and grabs Lesnar who fires back with a knee to the ribs, Lesnar then runs off the ropes and Benoit explodes with a clothesline knocking him down. Lesnar is stunned and gets to his feet, he swings at Benoit but the Rabid Wolverine ducks and then locks his hands in a waist lock and hits a German Suplex! Benoit holds on and forces Lesnar back to his feet, before hitting another German Suplex, adjusting it so Lesnar lands on his shoulder, Benoit holds on again and hits a third German Suplex dropping Lesnar on his shoulder and the champion is in trouble. Benoit covers but Lesnar manages to kick out at 2.

    Benoit gets to his feet first and stomps away at Brock Lesnar, he lifts him to his feet and delivers a couple of chops and then shoots him into the ropes, but Lesnar reverses and catches Benoit with an Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex! Lesnar waits for Benoit to get to his feet and looks for another Belly to Belly, but Benoit grabs Lesnar by the shoulder and looks for the Crossface, however he can’t bring Lesnar down to the ground and Lesnar stays on his feet and pushes Benoit into the ropes before hitting a massive Spinebuster! Lesnar holds his shoulder and then covers Benoit…1…2…kickout! Lesnar then signals for the end and he lifts Benoit up on his shoulders for an F-5, but at the last second Benoit counters into a TORNADO DDT and both men are down. Benoit manages to lift his shoulder over Brock Lesnar and covers, but the champion manages to kick out at 2.

    Benoit lifts Brock Lesnar to his feet and begins to work away with chops to the shoulder of Brock Lesnar pushing him into the ropes, Benoit throws Lesnar into the ropes but Lesnar counters and lifts Benoit up on his shoulders for the F-5, but Benoit fights and lands behind Brock Lesnar, with a waist lock…GERMAN SUPLEX, Benoit hangs and hits a second German Suplex. The crowd begins to count with Chris Benoit as he refuses to let go, hitting another German Suplex on Brock Lesnar, Benoit maintains the grip and continues rolling….5….6….7….8….9….10 GERMAN SUPLEXES ON BROCK LESNAR, the champion is down but the challenger is sowinded that he cannot capitalize. Benoit finally fights to put a shoulder over top of Lesnar and the referee counts….1….2…

    KICKOUT! Benoit can’t believe that Lesnar kicked out of 10 German Suplexes. The champion fights to his feet as Benoit stalks him from behind, Lesnar is slow to his feet but he finally gets up and Benoit locks in a Full Nelson and hits the Full Nelson Suplex, Benoit bridges into a cover and the referee counts…1….2….NEW CHAMPION….KICKOUT! Signs of frustration begin to boil on Benoit as he grabs Lesnar by the arm and locks him in the CRIPPLER CROSSFACE! Lesnar reaches for the ropes and grabs them, Benoit releases the hold but then drags him into the middle of the ring and he locks him in another CRIPPER CROSSFACE! Lesnar is trapped in the middle of the ring Lesnar reaches deep down and forces himself to one knee, carrying Benoit’s weight with him as he gets back to his feet and then falls backwards into the corner, breaking the Crossface.

    Lesnar is in trouble in the corner and Benoit presses the attack, with chops and all Lesnar can do is push Benoit down, but he fights right back to his feet and attacks again, and all Lesnar can do is push him back. Benoit gets up to attack again and Lesnar swings at him but Lesnar misses and Benoit locks him up in a waist lock and takes him over for another GERMAN SUPLEX, this time Lesnar landing on his face! Benoit is slow to react but he notices that Lesnar is down in the middle of the ring and then makes the cut-throat sign and signals for the end as he climbs to the top rope, looking for the Diving Headbutt and connects. Benoit grabs his head in pain and then fights to cover Lesnar, he does…1…2….

    KICKOUT! LESNAR KICKED OUT! Benoit can’t believe it! Benoit then looks back to the top rope and again does the cut-throat sign, this time blowing his nose over Lesnar as a sign of disrespect and then climbs to the top rope, Lesnar is down and Benoit leaps off, but LESNAR MOVES and Benoit crashes to the ground below! Both men are down in the middle of the ring as the referee makes his 10 count. Both men are slow to their feet and Benoit makes the first move, he charges at Lesnar who catches him with a fireman’s carry and hits the F-5 on Chris Benoit! Benoit is down and Lesnar fights to for the cover….1….2….

    KICKOUT! BENOIT KICKED OUT OF THE F-5! Lesnar can’t believe it, as Benoit kicked out of his best move. Lesnar struggles to his feet as Benoit is down in the middle of the ring. Lesnar slowly lifts Benoit back to his feet, when the Rabid Wolverine explodes into the CRIPPLER CROSSFACE! Benoit tricked Lesnar into the Crossface and has it locked in the middle of the ring, again Lesnar tries to power of it, but no longer has the energy and so he is forced to drag himself towards the ropes, Lesnar rolls closer to the ropes but Benoit holds on, however the referee forces Benoit to break the hold.

    Lesnar struggles to his feet, Benoit delivers a few more knife edge chops, Lesnar delivers a kick to the ribs and then looks for the F-5 again, but Benoit counters with a small package…1….2….KICKOUT! Half of the crowd breaths a sigh of relief, the other half can’t believe the match is still going, as the crowd is divided between the two superstars in the ring. Benoit gets to his feet first and he looks for a clothesline but Lesnar ducks it and delivers a kick, and then he lifts Benoit up looking for the Jackhammer but Benoit lands behind Lesnar and grabs him with a school boy, the referee covers…1…2…kickout!

    Benoit can’t believe it and thinks of a way to put Lesnar away. He waits for Lesnar to get to his feet and then approaches him from behind, looking for another German Suplex, but this time Lesnar lands on his feet behind Benoit. The Rabid Wolverine turns around and Lesnar lifts him into the air for the F-5, but this time Benoit again escapes, grabbing the shoulder of Lesnar and pulling him to the ground in the CROSSFACE. Benoit has the Crossface locked in the center of the ring and Lesnar has nowhere to go, he tries to reach for the ropes but they are two far away, he struggles to find an out and then suddenly switches his position, rolling Benoit’s shoulders onto the mat…1…2….3!

    The referee hands Lesnar the title as Chris Benoit looks on in disbelief. Benoit slides out of the ring and begins his walk to the back as Brock Lesnar celebrates his victory in the ring, when the cameras shift backstage to Mick Foley and Jessica Alba.

    Mick Foley and Jessica Alba are in the lottery room when John Cena, Homicide and Low Ki enter the office, looking to draw their Royal Rumble numbers. John Cena notices that the number lottery is low and he reaches in to find only one ball.

    John Cena: “Is this some kind of joke Foley, my boys and I are here for the Royal Rumble?!”

    Mick Foley: “Well that’s all fine and good, but the Royal Rumble numbers are on a first come, first serve basis, and that’s all that’s left, I guess you and your boys should have come a little earlier”


    John Cena’s face goes ice cold and he shoves Mick Foley, and then Foley shoves him right back, Homicide & Low Ki are about to jump in but Cena waves him off with a quick hand motion, and he just stares Foley dead in the eye.

    John Cena: “If you think this issue is over, your dead wrong….let’s roll out.”

    Cena moves out and Homicide & Low Ki are right behind him as the cameras shift to Roderick Strong, walking through the hallways with his Royal Rumble number when suddenly he is blindsided by CHRIS BENOIT! The Rabid Wolverine grabs him and throws him through a WINDOW! Benoit then walks over to Roderick Strong who is a bloody mess and takes his Royal Rumble number, before walking away. The camera shifts back to Joey Styles and John Bradshaw Layfield at the announce table.

    Joey Styles: “Things are getting really tense backstage, first Cena and Foley and now Chris Benoit, I can understand being disappointed, but was that necessary?”

    John Bradshaw Layfield: “Didn’t you just see what Chris Benoit did, he took Strong’s number, could we see Chris Benoit in the Royal Rumble tonight?

    Joey Styles: “Well one thing that I do now, is that now is the time, ladies and gentlemen it happens only once a year, lives will be changed, careers will be altered, 30 men, all with one goal…WRESTLEMANIA!”


    Some dramatic music plays as a video package begins highlighting the history, of the Royal Rumble. HISTORY – Hulk Hogan and the Warrior as the final two men…Ric Flair winning the WWE Championship in 1992…Yokozuna winning in 1993. CONTROVERSY – Bret Hart and Lex Lugar going over at the same time in 1994, Shawn Michaels one foot on the floor in 1995, Vince McMahon winning in 1999. LEGACY – The Rock eliminates Big show to win the 2000 Royal Rumble, Austin hits Kane with a chair to win the 2001 Royal Rumble, HHH eliminates Angle to win the 2002 Royal Rumble. DESTINY – Chris Jericho eliminates Shawn Michaels to win the 2004 Royal Rumble, Chris Benoit eliminates Kurt Angle to win the 2005 Royal Rumble.
    ‘Attack’ by 30 Seconds To Mars begins and the Royal Rumble video heats up showing many of the participants including Randy Orton RKO on Edge, John Cena throwing Chris Benoit into the steel steps, Edge hitting the Spear on Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle with an Angle Slam on John Cena. Abyss putting Brent Albright through a table with a Black Hole Slam, Sting pointing his baseball bat at Abyss, RVD hitting a Five Star Frog Splash on Samoa Joe, Nitro/Daniels/Helms all hitting a Superkick on Angle at the same time, CM Punk hitting the Shining Wizard on RVD, Samoa Joe hitting the Muscle Buster on AJ Styles, AJ hitting the Styles Clash on Bryan Danielson and so on as the video ends with 1 second flash shots of each superstar in the Royal Rumble and then shows the previous Wrestlemania setting…THE ROAD TO WRESLEMANIA BEGINS NOW!


    Lilian Garcia: “It is now time for the Royal Rumble match, and here are the rules, in just a moment, the superstars who drew numbers one and two will enter the ring and the match will begin, then every 2 minutes thereafter another superstar will enter the ring according to the number that they drew, elimination occurs when a superstar is thrown over the top rope, and both feet touch the ground, The last superstar remaining in the ring once all 30 superstars have entered will be declared the winner and will face the WWE Champion at Wrestlemania 22.”

    ‘Metalingus’ by Alter Bridge hits the speakers and the superstar who drew #1 in the Royal Rumble is the enigmatic EDGE. Edge sets off the explosions on stage and then comes down to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd. Edge [slides into the ring and acknowledges the crowd until his music stops and the crowd goes silent in anticipation for who will enter #2. ‘My Last Breath’ by Evanescence hits and CHRISTIAN CAGE appears on the stage and the crowd goes absolutely crazy.

    Joey Styles: “We haven’t seen Christian Cage since 2004 when he was put out by Edge, and now he is back!”

    John Bradshaw Layfield: “Edge can’t believe it, I can’t believe it, Christian is back, and its brother vs. brother to start the Rumble!”


    Christian walks down to the ring and removes his jump-suit as he then slides into the ring and stands in the ring in front of his brother as the two men prepare for the Royal Rumble match, the bell rings and the match officially begins.


    Royal Rumble Match

    The two men lock up in the center of the ring and jock for postioning which Edge wins and locks Christian in the corner and begins to hit him with several punches, immediately Edge tries to eliminate Christian by throwing him over the top rope, but Christian blocks it with an elbow. Christian then charges at Edge who explodes up with a clothesline. Edge lifts Christian back to his feet and throws him into the corner, Edge charges in but Christian gets a foot up and then Christian takes Edge down with a clothesline of his own.

    Christian sends Edge into the corner but Edge reverses and then he lowers his head opening it up for a kick from Christian. Christian grabs Edge and throws him over the top rope, but Edge lands on the apron. Christian charges at Edge who catches him with a shoulder which sends Christian into the center of the ring. Edge then climbs to the top rope and leaps off with a Crossbody and connects with it. Edge gets to his feet first and looks for the Spear as Christian gets up but Christian catches him with a boot to break it up. Christian then tries to throw Edge over the top rope as the countdown begins.

    10…9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1…BEEP!

    ‘Medal’ hits the speakers and KURT ANGLE is the next participant in the Royal Rumble match, he slides into the ring but Christian has already gone to meet him and attacks him instantly. Christian lifts Angle to his feet and throws him into the ropes but Angle reverses and then grabs Christian with an Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex. Edge gets back on his feet and Angle stands behind him, looking for an Angle Slam, but Edge lands behind him and takes him down with the Edge-O-Matic. Christian gets back to his feet and both Edge & Christian double team Kurt Angle, throwing him into the ropes and then hitting a double back body drop. Edge and Christian then turn on each other and both men thinking the same idea hit each other with a clothesline and all three men are down as the countdown begins.

    ‘Booyaka 619’ by POD hits the speakers and Rey Mysterio is the next participant in the Royal Rumble match. He runs down the isle and slides into the ring and dropkicks Angle just as he is getting to his feet. Mysterio then hits Christian with a spinning heel kick and then hits Edge with the same move. Mysterio lifts up Edge and throws him into the ropes, Edge tries to catch him but Mysterio counters with a modified bulldog. Mysterio then charges at Angle and gets on top of him for an Electric Chair and then rolls through with a leg scissor placing Angle in position. Mysterio signals for the 619 and runs off the ropes but Christian intercepts him with a clothesline and the countdown begins again.

    ‘Space Oddessy 2001’ hits the speakers and David Flair is the next participant into the Royal Rumble match. Flair removes his nature boy robe and slides into the ring, instantly choosing Kurt Angle as his victim. Flair traps Angle in the corner and lifts him up with a knife edge chop. Meanwhile Edge throws Mysterio into the ropes and Rey ducks, going underneath a possible clothesline and then springboarding off the 2nd rope into a Crossbody which takes out Edge. Mysterio turns around and Christian knocks him down. Christian tries to lift Mysterio up to put him over but Rey holds onto the ropes, Edge then slides up behind both men and takes them both over the top, however both men land on the apron and slide back into the ring, as the countdown begins again.

    ‘Generation Next’ hits the speakers as Gen Next member Austin Aries is the next participant into the Royal Rumble match. Aries hits the ring and picks up the pace with dropkicks to Edge, Christian and David Flair. Angle sneaks up behind him and tries a German Suplex but Aries lands on his feet and then delivers a kick to the back of Angle’s head. Mysterio then catches Aries from behind with a dropkick and that places Aries in position for the 619, Mysterio runs off the ropes and connects with the 619 to Austin Aries. Mysterio then springboard back into the ring with a Senton Splash on Edge. Christian tries to lock up David Flair in the corner for elimination but Flair hooks his arm around the ring post and isn’t going anywhere. Mysterio and Angle are trying to eliminate Edge while Aries is down and the countdown begins again.

    10…9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1…BEEP!

    ‘Generation Next’ hits the speakers as Gen Next member Alex Shelley is the next participant into the Royal Rumble match. Shelley slides into the ring and takes Kurt Angle down with an arm drag. Christian turns around and Shelley takes him down with a dropkick. Shelley grabs David Flair and hits the backcracker and then turns to see Austin Aries back on his feet. The two men nod and then connect with a double dropkick to Edge, followed by another one to Christian and then Shelley hits David Flair with the Shellshock. Aries grabs Mysterio and tries to throw him over the top rope, but Mysterio hangs on, Shelley tries to eliminate David Flair but he is down in the corner and far away from the top rope. Edge begins to wear down Kurt Angle in the corner as Christian recovers on the other side and the countdown begins again.

    10…9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1…BEEP!

    ‘X Gonna Give It To Ya’ by DMX hits the speakers and XXX member Johnny Nitro is the next participant into the Royal Rumble. Nitro hits the ring and begins to open up with right hands, knocking every single superstar down. Nitro then turns to Kurt Angle and looks for a Superkick but Angle ducks it and locks up Nitro for the Angle Slam and hits it, killing Nitro’s momentum. Angle then tries to throw Nitro over the top rope, but David Flair attacks him from behind. Nitro and Flair both then try to eliminate Kurt Angle, meanwhile Edge looks for a Spear in the corner on Rey Mysterio, but he moves out of the way and then runs off the ropes with a bulldog to Edge. Christian grabs Angle from behind and throws him over the top rope, but Angle holds on and Christian begins stomping on him, trying to push him to the floor as the countdown begins again.

    10…9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1…BEEP!

    ‘Guilty’ hits the speakers and the Wildcat Chris Harris is the 9th person to enter the Royal Rumble. Harris slides in and instantly hits Edge with a Super Kick. Christian charges at him and Harris hits a Spinning Spinebuster on him. Harris then turns around and charges at Kurt Angle with a Spear but Angle kicks him in the face. Harris turns around and Johnny Nitro hits him with a Superkick to the face, which knocks him down. Austin Aries and Alex Shelley pair up again and hit David Flair with a double dropkick that puts him through the ropes to the apron, but Flair is still in the match. Chris Harris gets to his feet and Generation Next connect with the HIGH LOW! Generation Next then wait for Chris Harris to get to his feet and then take him over the top rope with a double clothesline.

    Eliminated: Chris Harris (by Austin Aries & Alex Shelley)

    Aries and Shelley don’t even get a moment to celebrate as Johnny Nitro and David Flair are all over them. Meanwhile in the opposite corner, Edge and Christian are both trying to eliminate Rey Mysterio who is hanging onto dear life on the top ropes while Kurt Angle is down in the another corner of the ring, buying his time trying to recover from the early fatigue of the Rumble when the countdown begins again.

    ‘My Own Summer’ by Deftones hits the speakers and Brent Albright is the next participant in the Royal Rumble. Kurt Angle charges at Albright who captures him with a T-Bone Suplex. Christian turns around and Albright takes him over with a Belly to Belly Suplex. Edge turns to Albright and gets the same treatment. Flair and Nitro are trying to eliminate Generation Next but Albright comes over and delivers shots to both. Albright then hits Johnny Nitro with a Dragon Suplex and David Flair attacks him when he tries to bridge the suplex. Flair begins to target the leg of Brent Albright as Rey Mysterio is on his feet on the apron, Mysterio springboards into the ring with a dropkick that knocks David Flair down. The ring is starting to fill up with 9 bodies as the countdown begins again.

    10…9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1…BEEP!

    ‘X Gonna Give It To Ya’ by DMX hits the speakers again and this time Shane Helms is the next participant into the Royal Rumble, entering at number 11. Helms slides into the ring and hits the Helms Buster on Kurt Angle. Nitro notices that Helms is in the ring and the tandom connect with a Double Superkick on David Flair.. Austin Aries and Alex Shelley hit both XXX members with dropkicks and then turn around as Edge & Christian both hit dropkicks, Edge hitting Aries, Christian hitting Shelley, knocking them both over the top rope to the floor.

    David Flair has Brent Albright tied up in the corner trying to avoid elimination while Rey Mysterio rests in one of the corners avoiding the other participants. Helms & Nitro try to eliminate Kurt Angle however Angle gets himself tied up nicely while Edge and Christian walk over to try and eliminate Kurt Angle as well as the countdown begins.

    ‘Guilty’ hits the speakers as the Tennessee Cowboy James Storm comes down to the ring, entering at #12. Storm hits the ring and goes on the attack hitting both members of XXX with a double clothesline. Storm then turns around and delivers a right hand to Edge, knocking him down and then goes on to attack Christian from behind, pounding away on him, Storm then walks over to Rey Mysterio who delivers a dropkick to the knee of Storm, which takes him down to one knee, Mysterio then goes off the ropes and kicks Storm right in the face, knocking the Tennessee Cowboy down. Flair almost has Albright eliminated when Kurt Angle comes up from behind and drops him with a German Suplex. Albright is on the ring apron and Angle turns to him and delivers a hard right hand, trying to knock him off the ring apron, but Albright fights back with a thumb to the eye as the countdown begins again.

    ‘Line in the Sand’ by Motorhead hits the speakers and Randy Orton runs down to the ring. Orton gets in and instantly hits Edge with the RKO! Christian then turns around and Orton hits him with the RKO as well. Storm then charges at Orton and the legend killer side steps him and then throws him over the top rope to the floor.

    Eliminated: James Storm (by Randy Orton)

    Orton talks some trash to James Storm when Angle slides up from behind and tries to hit the Angle Slam but Orton lands behind him on his feet, turns him around and hits the RKO to Kurt Angle as well. Helms & Nitro then attempt a double Superkick on Orton but he ducks both and comes off the ropes with a clothesline that knocks them both down. Finally Mysterio is able to knock Orton down with a dropkick to end Orton’s momentum. Mysterio waits for Orton to get to his feet and then tries a hurricanrana, Mysterio leads Orton over the top rope and both men land on the apron, but both men hang on as only one of Orton’s feet touch the floor. Albright and Flair continue to battle in the corner as Albright now has the advantage and Flair is all hooked up in the ropes as the countdown begins again.

    ‘Burn in My Light’ hits the speakers and AJ Styles runs down to the ring as the 14th participant into the Royal Rumble match. Styles quickly goes on the attack, hitting Randy Orton with a dropkick, Kurt Angle with a spinning heel kick. Orton then springboards off the second rope and hits Christian with an Inverted DDT. AJ then turns to Rey Mysterio and tries to hit the Styles Clash but Johnny Nitro attacks him from behind. Nitro and Helms begin to stomp away at AJ Styles while Albright and Flair continue to battle in the corner. Edge almost has Rey Mysterio eliminated in another corner. Nitro lifts up Styles and hits a back suplex while Helms quickly lands a leg drop on Styles. Nitro and Helms then lift up Styles and try to throw him over the top rope but he holds on as the countdown begins again.

    10…9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1…BEEP!

    ‘X Gonna Give It To Ya’ hits a third time as the third member of xXx, Christopher Daniels enters the Royal Rumble at the halfway mark, number 15. Daniels slides into the ring and instantly joins his other xXx members, Nitro and Helms and they throw AJ Styles over the top rope, but he lands on the apron. Edge staggers out into the middle of the ring and Nitro knocks him down with a Superkick. Daniels then springboards off the top rope into the BME on Edge. Helms attempts the Nightmare on Helms Street (Vertibreaker) on Christian but Kurt Angle breaks that up. Angle then turns around and Daniels kicks him and then hits the Last Rites on Kurt Angle. Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio are battling in the corner with Orton having Mysterio over the top, Mysterio barely hanging on as Flair assists Orton trying to eliminate Rey Mysterio. xXx then target Brent Albright as Nitro and Helms hit the Snapshot on Brent Albright. The ring has 11 people in it as the countdown begins again.

    ‘I Stand Alone’ by Godsmack blasts over the speakers and at once every single superstar in the ring looks towards the entrance ramp as SAMOA JOE is the next participant in the Royal Rumble. Joe walks down to the ring with his towel on as all every one in the ring stands their ground. Joe steps into the ring and Nitro attacks, but Joe knocks him down with a clothesline. Daniels charges in and Joe delivers a stiff kick that knocks him down. Helms attacks him from behind but Joe grabs him and throws him over the top rope to the floor.

    Eliminated: Shane Helms (by Samoa Joe)

    Joe continues his offense, attacking everything that moves in the ring, Orton, Edge, Angle, Christian, Albright, Styles, Mysterio, Nitro, Flair all get knocked down by Joe’s offensive outburst. Christopher Daniels gets to his feet and Joe charges at him with a kick to the side of the head that takes Daniels over the top rope to the floor.

    Eliminated: Christopher Daniels (by Samoa Joe)

    Joe turns around and Brent Albright is on the attack, Albright fires several right hands staggering Samoa Joe backing him up towards the ropes, but suddenly Joe unleashes a huge onslaught of open palm strikes and kicks that backs Albright up towards the ropes on the other side, Joe then charges at Albright and takes him over the top rope to the floor.

    Eliminated: Brent Albright (by Samoa Joe)

    AJ Styles then begins his own assault on Samoa Joe, hitting the Pele Kick but that doesn’t take Joe off his feet. Styles then throws him into the ropes but Joe reverses and hits AJ with a vicious powerslam. Angle gets up and Joe charges at him, knocking him into the corner. Edge charges at Joe but he moves and Edge spears Angle in the corner. Edge turns around and Joe delivers a stiff kick to the face of Edge, knocking him down. Nitro looks for a Superkick on Joe, but Samoa Joe ducks it and then sends Johnny Nitro over the top rope to the floor.

    Eliminated: Johnny Nitro (by Samoa Joe)

    Rey Mysterio then targets Joe with a dropkick to the knee. Rey Mysterio runs off and catches Samoa Joe with a headscissors that places him in position for a 619. Rey looks for a 619 on Samoa Joe but Joe ducks it and then grabs Mysterio by the mask and throws him over the top rope. Mysterio lands on the apron but Joe charges at him and knocks him to the floor with a vicious dropkick.

    Samoa Joe has completely left the ring decimated as he turns and notices AJ Styles in the corner sitting up. Joe smiles and then is about to deliver the facewash when the countdown begins again.

    The war drums begin to play as ‘Misera Cantere’ blasts over the speakers and CM Punk appears on the stage to a huge pop from the crowd. Joe turns away from AJ Styles and then walks to the center of the ring as CM Punk walks down to the middle of the ring. Joe challenges Punk to get into the ring and Punk is ready and is about to get into the ring when AJ Styles comes up from behind with a dropkick that knocks Samoa Joe over the top rope to the floor, right in front of CM Punk.

    Eliminated: Samoa Joe (by AJ Styles)

    With Joe out of the ring, Punk laughs at him and then slides into the ring as the referees contain Joe on the outside. Punk then instantly goes to work attacking Randy Orton in the corner, he lifts him over the top rope but Orton lands on the apron and slides back into the ring, so Punk applies the boots to him. Flair is in the middle of the ring laying chops into Kurt Angle, however Angle ducks a chop and hits Flair with an Angle Slam. However Angle doesn’t get the chance to capatize as Styles hits a standing enziguri which knocks him down. Meanwhile, Edge and Christian are now trying to eliminate Randy Orton alongside CM Punk when the countdown begins again.

    ‘This Fire Burns’ by Killswitch Engage hits the speakers and Chris Sabin runs down as the 18th man to enter the Royal Rumble match. Sabin enters and gets some energy into the ring, Sabin hits Edge with a dropkick and then knocks down Christian with a dropkick. Styles turns around and Sabin lifts him up with a Fireman’s Carry and hits the Cradle Shock. Kurt Angle comes up from behind with a shot and then looks for a German Suplex but Sabin lands on his feet and hits an Enziguri on Angle. Sabin turns around and Orton takes him down with a dropkick. Orton then turns to Flair and hits the RKO on David Flair. Orton goes to lift up Flair but Punk runs off the ropes and kicks him in the back of the head with a Shining Wizard. Punk then lifts up Flair and connects with Go To Sleep on David Flair. Punk then lifts up Flair and tries to put him over the top rope while Edge is down, Angle is down, Orton is down and Christian is slowly recovering in the corner, and Styles is working over Sabin on the ground and the countdown begins again.

    ‘World’s Greatest’ hits the speakers as Shelton Benjamin runs down to the ring, entering in the #19 spot. Benjamin enters the ring and immediately begins to open up on everyone, right hand to Edge, right hand to Christian, dropkick to AJ Styles. He goes to kick Sabin, but Sabin catches his foot, only to fall victim to the Dragon Whip. Randy Orton gets to his feet and Benjamin catches him with the T-Bone Suplex. Shelton then turns and sees Styles in the corner and he charges and hits the Shelton Splash, he then turns and hits Kurt Angle in the opposite corner with the Shelton Splash. He turns around and David Flair hits him with a thumb to the eye before Edge takes him out with a Spear! David Flair then tries to eliminate Shelton Benjamin but Christian comes up from behind and puts both men over, however neither man touches the floor. Christian begins to stomp away on both men while CM Punk tries to eliminate Randy Orton and the countdown begins again.

    The lights suddenly go out and when they return STING is in the middle of the ring as the 20th entrant into the Royal Rumble. Sting has a baseball bat and he drives it first into Edge’s stomach and then into the ribs of Kurt Angle. He then hits Chris Sabin with the bat in the stomach and then drops the bat and then waits for him to get to his feet before hitting him with the bat and knocking him over the top rope to the floor.

    Christian Cage comes up from behind and traps Sting in the Unprettier but Sting pushes him into the ropes and hits Christian in the stomach with the baseball bat, followed by a shot to the back of the head. David Flair comes up and he connects with a couple knife edge chops to Sting, rattling him before Sting drives the baseball bat into David Flair’s stomach. Sting then drops the bat and hits Flair with the Scourpin Death Drop. Sting then turns around and charges at Orton in the corner with the Stinger Splash, followed by a Stinger Splash to Benjamin and a Stinger Splash to AJ Styles, and then finally CM Punk as Sting has completely taken control of the Royal Rumble as the countdown begins again.

    ‘Space Oddessy 2001’ hits the speakers again and Sting turns around to see the Nature Boy, Ric Flair come down to the ring. Flair steps into the ring and the two men stare each other down in the center of the ring. Sting makes the first move but Flair blocks it and knocks Sting down a few times with forearms. Flair then plants Angle, Edge and Christian with forearms and then turns to hit David Flair and pulls back. He holds out his hand and David takes it. Ric then points at Sting and David walks that way, but Ric grabs David and then throws him over the top rope.

    Ric Flair looks down at his son David who can’t believe that his father just eliminated him, however David distracts his father as Randy Orton comes up from behind and lifts Ric Flair over the top rope to the floor.

    Orton then talks trash to Ric Flair and turns around, he looks to hit Edge with the RKo but Edge pushes him off. Edge then looks for the Spear on Randy Orton but Orton moves and Edge spears Christian Cage. Orton then grabs Edge and throws him over the top rope, but Edge hangs on barely as 1 foot touches the floor before Edge pulls himself back up and re-enters the ring. Meanwhile Kurt Angle is stomping away on CM Punk in the corner and AJ Styles has Shelton Benjamin in trouble as he is trying to lift him over the top rope when the countdown begins again.

    ‘World’s Greatest’ is heard over the speakers again, this time Charlie Haas is the next to enter the Royal Rumble at #22. Haas instantly attacks AJ Styles, saving his partner Shelton Benjamin. Haas then grabs Styles with a German Suplex at the same time Benjamin hits a Superkick. Sting is back up but has become the victim of the WGTT as Haas lifts up Sting onto the ropes and Benjamin leaps off with the Worlds’s Greatest Double Team on Sting. Edge is the next victim of the WGTT as Haas hits an Inverted Atomic Drop and Benjamin connects with a superkick. Christian struggles to his feet and he takes out Haas, but then Benjamin hits him with the Dragon Whip. Haas gets back to his feet and the duo attack Kurt Angle, saving CM Punk from elimination, Haas and Benjamin apply the boots to Kurt Angle and then try to eliminate him as Randy Orton moves in to try and eliminate CM Punk and the countdown begins again.

    ‘Parade of the Charioteers’ hits the speakers and Jimmy Rave appears on the stage, accompanied by Prince Nana. Prince Nana starts yelling at the superstars in the ring as each of them turn to face Jimmy Rave as he enters the ring. Jimmy Rave holds his arms into the air and Prince Nana yells at the superstars to bow before Jimmy Rave. Instead of bowing, all 9 superstars (Edge, Christian, Angle, Orton, Styles, Punk, Benjamin, Sting and Haas) encircle Rave and then begin beating and pummeling Jimmy Rave. They all then lift Jimmy Rave into the air and collectively carry him to the ropes and throw him over the top rope, right in front of Prince Nana.

    Eliminated: Jimmy Rave (by Everybody)

    After Rave is eliminated, everyone goes back to fighting each other. Edge and Christian double team Randy Orton in one corner, while AJ Styles battles with CM Punk in the middle of the ring, trading right hands, Punk gets the advantage but Styles hits the Pele Kick on Punk. Meanwhile, Sting is busy resting in a corner and the World’s Greatest Tag Team are double teaming Angle in another corner. Haas beats down Angle while Benjamin looks for the Shelton Splash, but at the last moment Angle ducks it and Benjamin lands hard on the apron. Haas charges at Angle but Kurt moves out of the way and then hits Haas with a Belly to Belly Suplex. Angle then turns and knocks Benjamin off the apron to the floor. Haas gets to his feet and Angle grabs him with an Angle Slam and takes him over the top rope, landing on top of Shelton Benjamin on the outside. Angle celebrates his success as the countdown begins again…

    ‘BREAK THE WALLS DOWN’ thunders over the speakers as CHRIS JERICHO appears on the stage as a surprise appearance. Edge, Christian, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, CM Punk and Sting all can’t believe it as the former WWE Champion begins his walk to the ring. Jericho slides in and begins to raise hell. Jericho hits everything that moves, clearing the middle of the ring. Sting struggles to his feet and Jericho runs off the ropes with a bulldog on Sting. Styles charges at Jericho but Chris moves and Styles goes over the top rope and lands on the apron. Jericho then springboards off the 2nd rope with a dropkick, knocking Styles off the apron to the floor.

    Eliminated: AJ Styles (by Chris Jericho)

    Jericho then turns around and sees Randy Orton in the middle of the ring and he scores with the Flashback. Jericho then turns around and catches Edge coming off the top rope and grabs his feet, locking him in the Walls of Jericho. Edge is screaming in pain as Christian attacks from behind, breaking Jericho’s momentum. Meanwhile, Sting has Angle trapped in the corner and he charges in with the Stinger Splash. Angle stumbes out of the corner and Sting hits the Scourpin Deathdrop on him. CM Punk then notices Randy Orton stagger to his feet so he tries to dropkick him out of the ring but Orton lands on the apron. Punk tries to eliminate Orton but Orton gets a thumb in the eye and then enters the ring. Edge, Christian, Angle, Orton, Punk, Sting and Jericho remain as the countdown begins again.

    ‘Out of My Way’ by Seether hits the speakers and Andrew Martin comes down to the ring as the #25th entrant into the Royal Rumble Match. Martin quickly sizes up CM Punk with a Boot to the Face. Martin then turns and hits Christian with a Boot to the Face and then looks for one on Angle, but Angle ducks and looks for the Angle Slam, Martin lands behind Angle and pushes him into the ropes and then hits the Pumphandle Slam on Angle. Martin turns around and hits another boot to the face, this time on Randy Orton before turning into a Spear by Edge. Sting gets to his feet and walks over to the corner, driving his foot into CM Punk while Edge walks over to the opposite corner to work on Chris Jericho. Christian struggles back to his feet and notices that Chris Jericho is almost eliminated and he tries to help out Edge but then decides Jericho’s hold is too strong so he turns on Edge and tries to eliminate him, but Edge manages to hold on, and the countdown begins again.

    ‘Whatever’ by Our Lady Peace hits the speakers and the Rabid Wolverine hits the ring. Benoit’s first target is Randy Orton with a German Suplex, then Christian with a German Suplex, Edge with a German Suplex, CM Punk with a German Suplex, Sting with a German Suplex and finally Chris Jericho with a German Suplex. Benoit then signals for something big and he climbs to the top rope, when out of nowhere Kurt Angle runs up the top rope and takes him off with a belly to belly suplex. Edge is the first to his feet and he grabs Sting, looking for the Edgecution, but Sting counters it into an attempt at the Scourpin Deathdrop until Orton catches Sting with a thumb to the eye and then a modified neckbreaker. CM Punk beats down Christian in a corner and then charges at him, driving his knee into Christian’s head, sandwiching it in the corner. Kurt tries to grab Jericho for a German Suplex, but Jericho rolls through it into the Walls of Jericho, however Angle is able to resist by pushing Jericho off into the corner. Orton and Benoit exchange right hands and chops in the middle of the ring until Benoit wins with a knee to the stomach of Randy Orton. Benoit then tries to throw Orton over the top as the countdown begins again.

    ‘Fury of the Storm’ hits the speakers and Rob Van Dam runs down to the ring, entering at number #27. RVD hits the ring and immediately is on fire, taking out Benoit with a spinning heel kick, and then a spinning heel kick to Jericho. RVD then springboards off the middle rope and connects with a kick to the face of Randy Orton. CM Punk gets to his feet and looks for a leg sweep but Van Dam jumps over it and hits a standing dropkick. RVD then runs off the ropes and hits Christian with Rolling Thunder. Meanwhile, Angle hits an Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex on Edge before Sting attacks him. RVD leaps into the air and comes off with a Five Star Frog Splash on Edge. Chris Jericho gets back to his feet and notices that Edge is down and he hits the Lionsault on Edge. Meanwhile, RVD traps Benoit in the corner and throws him out with a monkey flip. Andrew Martin attempts a Big Boot on RVD, but he ducks it and hits a leg sweep, and then a spinning leg drop as the countdown begins again.

    ‘Go to Sleep’ by Eminem hits the speakers and everyone comes to a stop, looking at the entrance arena for John Cena, however the Doctor of Thugganomics enters through the crowd behind the superstars. John Cena turns Andrew Martin around and throws him over the top rope.

    Cena continues his path of destruction, hitting everything that moves. Cena then runs off the ropes and hits Christian with the Throwback. Kurt Angle turns around Cena and begins to pepper him with right hands, but Cena drives a knee into the abdomin of the exhausted Kurt Angle, and then picks him up in the air and hits the FU to Kurt Angle. John Cena then turns around and hits the Killswitch on Randy Orton. CM Punk gets to his feet and John Cena hits him with a clothesline that takes him over the top rope to the floor. Rob Van Dam turns John Cena around and looks for a spinning heel kick, but John Cena ducks it and then takes him over the top rope to the floor.

    Edge and Christian has now been in the ring for 55 minutes, Kurt Angle has been in the ring for 53 minutes, Randy Orton has been in the ring for 30 minutes, Sting has been in the ring for 16 minutes, Jericho for 8 minutes as Cena shows that he is the freshest man in the ring by continuing to dominate everyone else until the countdown begins again.

    ‘Catacombs’ hits the speakers and the Monster, Abyss hits the speakers as he marches towards the ring. Every superstar fights to their feet as Cena attacks Abyss, who pushes him off and then steps into the ring. Abyss hits Orton with a clothesline, Edge with a clothesline, Angle with a clothesline, Edge with a big Boot. Sting gets to his feet and peppers Abyss with right hands, Abyss is staggered and Sting runs off the ropes into the BLACK HOLE SLAM from Abyss. Chris Benoit gets back to his feet and Abyss lifts him up with a two handed chokeslam and powers him to the canvas. Chris Jericho gets to his feet and Abyss nails him with a sidewalk slam, and then hits Christian with the Shock Treatment. Edge, Christian, Angle, Orton, Sting, Jericho, Benoit and Cena are all down and Abyss is completely in control. James Mitchell signals Doomsday at Abyss as the countdown begins again.

    The lights go out as the crowd gets excited when suddenly the GONG is heard throughout the arena as ‘The Darkest Side’ is heard and smoke and purple lights consume the entrance area as the crowd erupts in a huge cheer as the UNDERTAKER appears on the stage and Abyss stands in the middle of the ring, as the only man standing. Abyss just stands their waiting as Undertaker approaches the ring, Taker enters the ring and Abyss & Undertaker stare each other down before Abyss breaks with the first punch and backs Undertaker up, but the Phenom fires back with right hands of his own, staggering Abyss. The monster blocks a Taker shot and hits a headbutt and then looks for a right hand but Undertaker ducks and pounds Abyss back, before finally hitting Abyss with a Big Boot that knocks Abyss to the outside.

    Eliminated: Abyss (by Undertaker)

    Edge, Christian, Angle, Orton, Sting, Jericho, Benoit and John Cena all remain in the ring as the Undertaker unleashes right hands on everyone. Undertaker lifts up Christian up and hits snake eyes before running off the ropes with a kick to the face. Edge kicks Undertaker and looks for an Edgecution but Undertaker counters and hits the CHOKESLAM on Edge. Undertaker then hits a CHOKESLAM on Kurt Angle. Chris Benoit gets knocked down with a right hand, and then Undertaker hits Sting with a Big Boot and Sting falls over the top rope to the floor.

    Eliminated: Sting (by Undertaker)

    Jericho gets up and Undertaker lifts him up with a Tombstone Piledriver and plants him on the canvas. Everyone is down and Randy Orton is the only one left, Undertaker looks for a Chokeslam but somehow Orton counters into an RKO. Undertaker is down as Edge spears Undertaker. Benoit struggles to his feet and climbs to the top rope and hits the Diving Headbutt on Undertaker. Edge, Christian, Angle, Orton, Jericho and Benoit all team up on Undertaker and try to throw him over the top rope, but Undertaker counters and knocks them all back, punching them all Orton then hits a dropkick and backs Undertaker off, Undertaker is staggered and finally Orton takes Undertaker over the top rope with a clothesline.

    Eliminated: Undertaker (by Randy Orton)

    Edge & Christian have now been in the ring for over an hour, Kurt Angle has been in the ring for 58 minutes, Orton for almost 40 minutes. John Cena is now the freshest man in the Royal Rumble and he knocks Jericho down with a clothesline. John Cena then hits the FU on Edge. John Cena pumps up the shoes and looks for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, he runs off the ropes but Christian catches him on the rebound and knocks him out of the ring, Cena is eliminated.

    Eliminated: John Cena (by Christian Cage)

    John Cena looks up on Christian and the two exchange words when Chris Benoit comes up from behind and throws Christian over the top rope, but Christian lands on the apron. Christian fights Benoit off and is about to get into the ring but John Cena grabs Christian by the foot and knocks him off balance and Christian falls to the ground.

    Eliminated: Christian Cage (by Chris Benoit)

    John Cena begins punishing Christian Cage on the ground as the referees come to break up the skirmish. Edge, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit are the final five men left in the Royal Rumble. Kurt Angle gets back to his feet first and he hits a German Suplex on Edge and then another one on Chris Jericho. Kurt Angle pulls the straps down and turns around into an RKO from Randy Orton! Randy Orton then sizes up Edge and looks for the RKO, he leaps into the air but Edge catches him in mid air and drops him over the top rope and Orton falls to the floor.

    Eliminated: Randy Orton (by Edge)

    Edge, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit are the final four in the ring, each one of them are resting in a corner. Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit are the first to their feet and the two men stare each other down. For the first time since Wrestlemania 21, Jericho and Benoit are about to get it in, but Edge attacks Jericho and Angle goes after Benoit. Edge pounds Jericho down and then turns to Kurt Angle in the opposite corner. Kurt Angle begins to fight his way out of the corner with elbows to Edge and then a Belly to Belly Suplex on Chris Benoit. Angle turns around and Jericho takes him down with a flying forearm. Jericho then turns around and hits Benoit with a standing enziguri. Edge looks for a spear on Jericho but Jericho moves and Edge crashes into the corner and Jericho grabs him in the walls of Jericho. Edge is trapped until Benoit comes over and hits Jericho with a DDT.

    Angle comes up from behind on Benoit and tries to throw him out of the ring, but Benoit lands on the apron and is not eliminated. Edge turns Angle around and hits a few right hands, before throwing Edge into the ropes and then hits the Flapjack. Benoit struggles back into the ring as Edge pushes Jericho from behind towards Benoit, the Rabid Wolverie ducks and Jericho goes over the top rope and lands on the apron, and then Edge charges at him with a Spear that knocks Jericho off the apron to the floor.

    Eliminated: Chris Jericho by Edge

    All three men are exhausted and collapse into their respective corner, Edge and Kurt Angle have both been in the ring for over an hour, while Benoit had already wrestled for nearly half an hour against Brock Lesnar. Finally Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit lock eyes. Both men pull themselves to their feet and walk to the center of the ring, Angle and Benoit exchange right hands in the middle of the ring, Chris Benoit backs Kurt Angle back into the corner but Angle battles back and knocks Benoit down. Angle pulls the straps down and signals for the end as he stalks Benoit and goes for the Angle Slam, but Benoit lands behind him and grabs Angle with a Release German Suplex and Angle lands on his head.

    Benoit slowly gets to his feet and begins to stomp away at Kurt Angle as Edge gets back to his feet. Edge comes from behind and attacks Benoit. Edge throws Benoit into the corner and connects with the Spear! Edge stomps away on Benoit and then turns into a right hand from Kurt Angle! Angle pounds away but Edge delivers an elbow that staggers him. Edge then swings at Angle but he ducks and connects with an Angle Slam. Benoit gets to his feet and attacks Angle quickly with knife edge chops, Benoit then throws Angle into the ropes and then throws Angle through the ropes to the floor.

    Edge and Benoit are in the ring and Edge attacks Benoit with right hands and Benoit fires back with knife edge chops, both men are too exhausted to mount any other offense. Both men just stand in the middle of the ring, firing lefts and rights. Benoit then tries to throw Edge over the top rope with a body slam but Edge rakes the eyes. Edge then lifts Benoit up for a slam and tries to put him over the top rope as Kurt Angle slides back into the ring and puts them both over the top rope, Benoit lands on the apron but Edge falls to the floor and is eliminated.

    Eliminated: Edge (by Kurt Angle)

    For the second year in a row, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit are the final two men in the ring. Benoit is being held up by the ropes and Kurt Angle charges at Benoit, who puts his boot up. Benoit then chops away and hits Angle with forearms, trying to put him over. Benoit then runs off the ropes and charges at Angle, but Angle gets a sudden burst of energy and meets him in the center of the ring with an Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex. Angle pulls the straps down and hits Benoit with the ANGLE SLAM. Angle thinks that he has the chance now and he grabs him in the Ankle and locks in the Ankle Lock. Kurt Angle has the Ankle Lock locked in and Benoit grabs the ropes but the referee’s cant do anything as Angle pulls Benoit back to the center of the ring. Benoit realizes his only hope and he rolls through and throws Angle over the top rope, and Angle lands on the apron.

    Benoit charges at Angle and tries to knock him off, he runs into him but Angle holds on. He charges at him again and Benoit drives the shoulder into Benoit, creating some distance. Angle slides back into the ring and begins to light Benoit’s face up with right hands, Angle backs Benoit to the ropes and looks for the killing blow but Benoit ducks and then hits Kurt with the ANGLE SLAM! Both men are down and Benoit is the first to his feet, he signals for something big and he climbs to the top rope. Benoit leaps off with the DIVING HEADBUTT but Angle gets his knees up and Benoit crashes to the ground. Both men are exhausted and Chris Benoit uses the ropes to pull him up, Angle then gets to his feet, Benoit charges at Angle but Angle kicks him and then hits a Reverse Powerbomb, dropping Benoit’s head on the turnbuckle. Angle then looks for the Angle Slam and throws Benoit over the top rope, however Benoit grabs Angle and both men go over the top rope, but Benoit’s feet hit the ground first as Angle lands on the apron!

    Eliminated: Chris Benoit

    Angle rolls back into the ring and nearly collapses in the center of the ring as confetti rings down from the skies.

    Joey Styles: “After over one hour in the Royal Rumble, Kurt Angle is going to Wrestlemania!”

    John Bradshaw Layfield: “That could be one of the best performances I have ever seen in a Royal Rumble, more than 60 minutes, Kurt Angle/Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 22, I can’t wait”


    Kurt Angle is nearly crying as the camera zooms away from him and then catches the Wrestlemania 22 banner behin

    ---Really nice opening video. Gets me nice and hyped though no mention of the tag team match?


    Williams/London was really good, I was shocked as I really thought London was going to get it. Nice to see some character from Williams, devasting move, nice and heely.

    I loved the wwe title match untill the ending, i found it a bit weak. Maybe on tv it would look could but in writing not so much. Perhaps if there was some commentary after to show the show of brock turning it round? Really ruined it for me, in fact yea, commentary could have saved it but it seems like you wrote then finish then moved on.

    Cena's angry, get over it.

    Another nice video for the rumble match.

    I loved the rumble match itself, it flowed like an actual rumble with the tag teams coming one after another, the killer eliminations by joe, david shocked by ric, really good match. I liked everyone getting jimmy rave. Kurts going to mania against brock which should be pretty good.

    Overall a really good show. Match of the night was AJ/JOE, pure awesomeness. Still kinda bitter bout the wwe title finish, but glad about the result. My predictions were ok, didnt make a guess for the rumble and i was wrong bout london/williams. Good show, bring on Raw!!!

    “The King of the World”
    Chris Jericho

    If there is one person that can say that they single handedly saved the WWE, it could very well be Chris Jericho, the former WWE Champion.

    Chris Jericho came out of the company bankruptcy in 2004, he did so with one purpose, to make himself a household name. Chris Jericho first targeted his former hero, Shawn Michaels, and at the Royal Rumble, Chris Jericho entered at #2 (Michaels entered at #1) and both men lasted over 60 minutes, being the final two men in the Royal Rumble, as Jericho would win by taking a page out of Michaels’ playbook, skinning the cat.

    As the winner of the Royal Rumble, Chris Jericho was destined to Main Event, but that almost didn’t happen. Shawn Michaels wasn’t willing to go down without a fight and the two men faced off again with the Wrestlemania Title Shot on the line, this time Michaels would win thanks to help from Vince McMahon. With his dream stolen, Jericho had oen choice left, to align with Stephanie McMahon, and use her rivalry with her father to his advantage, and he did just that, defeating Shawn Michaels in a Ladder Match to retake his Wrestlemania title shot back. At No Way Out, Jericho would align with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar and the returning Bret Hart in a War Games Match against The Rock, Goldberg, Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels, but would come out on the losing end.

    With his ticket to Wrestlemania assured, Chris Jericho became the target of the WWE Champion The Rock, and Chairman, Vince McMahon. Forced into a Last Man Standing Match against Goldberg, Jericho looked like he would be in no shape to compete at Wrestlemania, however Chris Jericho gutted it out and survived Goldberg. Then came the annual pick your poison series, Chris Jericho selected the Hurricane, who had been psychologically attacking The Rock backstage. The Rock selected all of Evolution (Michaels, Orton, Batista and Flair) but somehow Jericho would survive the encounter and make it to Wrestlemania. At Wrestlemania, he received his first prize, the lovely Trish Stratus accompined him to ringside as the winner of the Royal Rumble, where despite suffering a Rock Bottom off the apron through a table, Jericho would survive and force Rock to tap out to win the WWE Championship.

    Jericho would learn a very important lesson, as hard as it is to become a champion, its even harder to stay a champion. The moment Jericho won the title, he became the target of the Big Red Machine, Kane. The monster had just been unleashed upon the WWE and Jericho had the unenviable task of taking him down. However, Jericho proved to be a fighting champion, beating Kane at Backlash with a small package. Jericho would then make the biggest mistake of his championship reign, insulting Stephanie McMahon. The angered Stephanie would make it her personal mission to destroy Chris Jericho, placing him in the first ever Elimination Chamber Match, however Jericho would continue to showcase his resourcefulness, defeating Chris Benoit, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kane, Bret Hart and Goldberg inside the chamber.

    Jericho would then face his toughest opponent to date, Bret the Hitman Hart, at King of the Ring, Bret won a Royal Rumble match on SUPERAW to qualify and the two men went to war at King of the Ring, however looming in the shadows was Vince McMahon, who interfered, forcing the referee to stop the match and awarding Chris Jericho the loser. Vince McMahon was determined that Bret Hart would never be champion, but Chris Jericho did not want his reign tarnished and so he made the challenge to Bret Hart again, this time for an Iron-Man Match at Vengeance. Well Vince McMahon had a few cards left in his hand and he placed Shawn Michaels as the Special Guest referee in the match, however HBK refused to screw over Bret Hart, that proved irrelevant as Stone Cold Steve Austin interfered, joining Vince McMahon’s newly formed Power Trip with The Rock.

    Jericho was almost home free, just had one more huge title defense ahead of him, and that was at Summerslam. Kurt Angle won the King of the Ring tournament, guaranteeing him a shot at the WWE Championship at Summerslam, however Edge won the first ever Money in the Bank Ladder Match and cashed it in for Summerslam, as Jericho was forced to defend against the Tag team champions in a triple threat match (Edge & Kurt Angle won the Tag Team Titles leading into Summerslam). With his back to the wall, Jericho continued to be the fighting champion, defeating Kurt Angle to win the match and escape the first season of SUPERAW with the gold.

    Chris Jericho returned in 2005 in a different light, while he was still the fighting champion he was before, an unbearable cockiness began to overtake him, calling himself the King of the World. The fans reacted to this as well, as the more matches he won, the more the fans hated him, as riots began to break out every time Jericho retained, and every time the fans rioted, the more Jericho was determined to emerge victorious, and the more the crowd hated him for it. Chris Jericho's reign of dominance over the WWE Championship was threatened by the challenger, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. It was the first opportunity since his return in 2004 that Shawn Michaels would challenge for the WWE Championship, however Chris Jericho once again shocked the world, defeating Shawn Michaels to retain the WWE Championship....with help from Shane McMahon.

    Jericho was on a roll that few wrestlers could even dream of, and he knew it. As much as the fans hated him, they had no choice but to respect his ability and his unwillingness to lose the title, literally willing to die to hang on to the top prize in the industry. Enter Chris Benoit, the winner of the Royal Rumble and the #1 contender for the title. Benoit had won the most star studded Royal Rumble of all time, beating Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Rock, Austin, HHH, Undertaker and more to earn a shot at the title. Heading into the match Benoit requested only one thing, an honorable match between two of the best workers in the world, Jericho agreed, there would be no surprises, no double crosses. The only thing that Chris Benoit would have to contend with is the absolute best of Chris Jericho. At Wrestlemania, Jericho started off strong, beating Benoit to the punch on every encounter, but he couldn’t put Benoit down, and the Rabid Wolverine began to adapt and respond, in a classic Match of the Year, Benoit would finish Jericho off with the Crossface to end Jericho’s year long reign as champion.

    Chris Jericho would then take some time off, as his relationship with Trish Stratus continued to become more and more serious until they were married in 2005, now that Jericho has had some time to relax and start a family, the passion has returned, but the question is, how long will it take for Chris Jericho to climb back to the top of the mountain?

    Jay Lethal’s ROYAL RUMBLE Review

    First up I have to say that this event is probably one of the nicely hyped up PPV events I have had the pleasure of reading man. Your SupeRAW has been a treat to read thus far and now we get the payoff from a month or so of hard work. I am extremely looking forward to this man, good luck.

    Your opening is very good; all explained well and looked amazingly well done. I like the name of the theme song “Attack”, is that an actual song or just a made up name for a theme song by you. If it is a real song who sings it, I’d love to give it a listen. I like how you had a line for each piece of action that we saw, made it easier to understand amongst other things. Also I’d like to add that your opening made the beginning of the most crucial time of the year seem more important than anything else… great work!

    London vs. Williams is straight up like I thought it would be and I like this angle, Williams is a total cruiserweight badass in your fed as the Champion. London is like the staple of the division, the top of the heap so this match should deliver…. And it does. London held up as long as he could considering all the damage done to him at the hands of Joe on SupeRAW. Williams drills London with the sickest looking move in wrestling and on the Concrete Floor! London wins but by DQ, this is made stuff to open a show with man. Very nice, Williams looks mega badass, London looks destroyed but still holds his place after such a determined fight.

    The Royal Rumble ball picking segments I will talk about as a whole later on. Orton seems strong and confident going into the big match and Sabin is dissing Williams over respect, now that would be a great little match man. For Mania maybe or even No Way Out… maybe a Williams/Sabin/London 3 Way at Mania?

    YES! Joe vs. Styles is up next and boy did that live up to expectation or what! Damn what a match, I was a hoping it would be good but this is not good, it is great. Styles came so close and in the end had to be KO’ed to lose the match. Two matches so far, two title matches and they have both ended in different ways, far from the normal. That match could seriously have been the Main Event for this show if you decided to give Lensar the night off. Wow damn good match!

    This is probably the weakest match on your card and that is not saying that it is crap by all means. It had the least hype put into it and AMW should win as it is their first major defence. It seemed like a good showing from both teams, I think a rematch down the road is definitely in the books. They worked well together and Aries/Shelley deserve another shot. I also liked that AMW Finisher the High Noon, great little finisher there to go with the Death Sentence. McGuinness showing up was a treat as I am learning more and more about him in hopes of using him one day. Things look interesting here man.

    What seems to be another cookie cutter promo from Sting bout the Rumble? Nice, they might not be the best segments but they hype up the match with each one that is shown. Which is a plus in my book. Styles is going into the big match no matter what, again nice little hype ups there. CM Punk and Joe bump into each other and I sense Joe’s next big rivalry, could be good man but I wouldn’t leave Styles too far out of the picture her man.

    The WWE Championship Match is here next and this is one match that I am massively hooked to see. It delivers in the excitement factor, a nice match and it seemed like how a real Benoit/Lesnar match would go too. This would have been a classic in the real world but here it is just the start of something bigger, I can tell man. You have something cooked up, with Lesnar winning things are pretty even in the angle stakes. The ending was nice, Lesnar just escapes losing and Benoit, well I expect him to show up again… and we will in the Rumble, he pulled a Foley and Angle and got in to the Rumble match with a good old fashioned beat down.

    Hot damn here we are with the big match. I was going to keep the rumble and may bring it back next year but it just seems like a very daunting match to wrote for me. So long and so many people to keep track of. LOL! This match is done nicely like the rest. I like your writing style man; it seems to flow real nicely. I can see so many feuds coming from this one match; the opportunities are endless if you ask me. I was super hyped to see Edge last as long as he did but I wish he had of won. Same with Cena, they were my two picks but no it comes down to Angle and Benoit and Angle throws Benoit out to finally win a Rumble Match. DAMN! I totally didn’t see that coming at all man, that was a shocker for sure.



    WOW! What an event, I am at a loss for words man I am without speech. It was great to read from top to bottom. Everything seemed to fit well and was in its right place from the get go. The Royal Rumble Placing segments were ace and added heaps to the show, Flair was a great stand out with Jessica (good to see you using some celebrities in your show too) and Nitro being totally arrogant only to be fobbed off was great. All in all a very good show and one that did its job to perfection and that is start the Road to Wrestlemania with a bang!

    I give you 95 out of 100 for SupeRAW ROYAL RUMBLE
