Remember when UFC would come up with cute names for PPVs(UFC 48: PAYBACK!)? They don't do that anymore, but they should. Tomorrow night's show is the biggest of the year for MMA or the UFC so far. Stipe vs Junior for the strap, the best female fighter in the sport today defending her strap, and the fight I'm most interested in; my favorite guy in the UFC right now "EL Pantera" Yair Rodriguez in the biggest fight of his career taking on former champion Frankie Edgar. HUGE OPPORTUNITY!! Undercard prelims feature Eddie Alvarez vs Dustin Poirier, plus former dominant women's strawweight Jessica Aguilar coming back from 2 years hiatus due to ACL surgery. Should be a good one. Any predictions? Post something in this thread for the love of god.

Alvarez/Poirier should be an entertaining match.

I like Jessica Aguilar, she's a ground and pound wrestler that usually takes fights to a decision, usually not a whole lot of action in her fights but she's a good technical wrestler, I think she brings something interesting to women's straw weight division. She looked really impressive and dominant in World Series of Fighting, she was on a 10 fight win streak going back to her wins over Megumi Kudo and Carla Esparza in Bellator up until she won the WSOF title and defended twice before the UFC snatched her up. She got dominated by Claudia Gadelha in her UFC debut in 2015 then blew out her ACL and hasn't fought since. Hopefully she makes a good comeback tonight, I think she can beat a lot of the girls at 115 and put JJ's takedown defense to the test.

My girl and I will continue our tradition of going watch the fights at Buffalo Wild Wings tonight. This is a fantastic card overall and my girl is a big Joanna mark so it wasn't hard to sell her on going.

Yair has a big chance to truly make a name for himself tonight if he beats Edgar. That should be a great one.

    All credit goes to surrender!

Looks like a damn good card. JDS/Stipe put on a hell of a show last time they fought. I'm into Joanna. Frankie Edgar to me is always fun to watch and Yair is a tough test for him.

Disappointing unanimous decision loss for Aguilar, I'm just now tuning in so I missed the fight. Poirier vs Alvarez is a do or die matchup, Poirier abandoned a really solid Jujitsu game to become a sloppy brawler, Alvarez shocked me with how Conor made him look like an amateur. Both guys really need to win, could be a really good one.

My god...that was insane. Coulter/Sherman put on one hell of a show.

Also still trying to make this three man announce team happen...stop it please.

Man Coulter vs Sherman was great, Sherman took a beating on his leg in the first round to the point where he could barely stand on it. Looked like he was finished but he showed some heart and fought back to make it interesting in the second, until Coulter finishes him with an elbow against the fence. Awesome.

That fight got a little spooky. I thought Coulter was going to straight up pass out from exhaustion...which oddly enough would have been better for him as he wouldn't of taken that elbow.

Man, Poirier had him beat and just got sloppy as fuck, had him on the hook and let him go. Second round was excellent though.

Yair Rodriguez=The NEW school! He's got his hands full with Frankie, I'd actually be surprised as hell if Yair takes this, man I hope he does though. This is the main event for me. If Yair wins this he's a made man.

Damn, just wasn't ready for a fight like this yet. Man I wanted him to win so bad. Still can't believe the cutman didn't even endswell that eye after the first round though, straight up amateur shit right there.

That was a crazy ass show.

I am gutted over Yair losing, was bracing the whole time as was my brother. It was a bad night for la raza, all the Latinos got shut out.

No mention of Fabricio in regards to the heavyweight conversation on greatest and potential challengers to Stipe. Interesting.

Al Iquinta was in the crowd... interesting.

In general, WSOF was the minor leagues as their alumni showed tonight. Branch may have won but his fight was the one dud of the night and Jessica Aguilar got plain shut out.

Best UFC event of the year so far, am I right?

Prelims were fun. How far has Eddie Alvarez fallen though? Guy went from main eventing with McGregor in NEW York to getting busted down to prelims. Then again I understand the prelims also need a hook to get viewers so it delivered in that aspect.

Joanna looks unstoppable. I can't see anybody putting her down.

Yair looked like a fish out of water. Frankie just put him on his back and obliterated him with ease. Frankie is still one of the best in the world, it's just a bummer he can't get past Aldo. I hope he moves back up to LW. I think he can still be a force in that division.

Stipe is for real. This was a fight I thought might not go his way but the guy has some impressive power. JDS had a very questionable perhaps strategy. He put his back to the fence A LOT and it was just strange to see him not be the one coming forward. Stipe showed no fear of his striking and JDS just seemed stunted.

Good show. All of my guys lost badly. Best fight of the night was women's title fight for sure, Joana is the best technical striker in the UFC, man or woman. Her opponent last night was a scrapper, reminded me of Wanderlei. Excellent 5 round title fight. JDS looked plain shot, Stipe Miocic is seriously one dangerous motherfucker.
