Default Many Athletes could lose World Record

The last couple of day a storm has been brewing with the news that World and European Records that happened prior to 2005 would be wiped from the record books, as if they never happened because they believe there was alot of cheating with steroids or doping scandals, but that would mean alot of star names would lose their world records for example Paula Radcliffe Womans Marathons record, Colin Jackson 60 m indoor hurdles, Jonathon Edwards triple jump, Mike Powell long Jump, Flo Jo 100 & 200 m records plus more, what do you think of wipping the slate clean of these records

Show me the evidence. A 20+ year old record should not go down due to speculation.
If all of mankind minus one were of of one opinion, and only one person of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.

Agreed, this seems pretty stupid. Although it's inevitable that some of those records are tainted, you can't just paint everyone with the same brush and remove those that are legitimate. And although doping tests are more prevalent and scientifically advanced than they were back then, so to is the evasion, it's nonsense to suggest that you can draw a line in the sand and say we are now in a new "clean era".

Pretty much as well as it can be summed up.

If it's admitted to or otherwise PROVEN, sure. But otherwise, it should stand.

They can't wipe out Flo Jo's 100 & 200 m records. She pass every drug test they gave her. Even after she died in '87 she was still passing the drug test's.
