Default Was ODB ever a good wrestler?

ODB's is on her 3rd or 4th stint with TNA, and is continually having bad and boring matches. Yet during her first run in TNA she was known for being one of the stars of the knockouts division.

So my question is was she actually ever talented or was she a poor talent carried by great workers like Gail and Kong?

Personally I think she's just an incredibly basic worker, whose only strength is that she's a decent base for lucha moves. Her wrestling style just seems out of date compared to current actually good female wrestlers on the scene. She still seems stuck in the early 2000's women's scene if that makes sense.

    Good, yes
    Great, extraordinary? Nah

But she didn't get popular for her wrestling, so no one ever really cared. She's always been one of my faves

When the knockouts launched the divas were around an all time low. So actual attention on female performance drew interest. And while her wrestling is kinda basic her character work covers up for her to entertain the fans.

Don't think i've ever seen a match of hers that i thought classified as more then average or mildly entertaining.

Hated her character and her voice goes right through me.

TNA continues to be tragic also.

She was good. Female wrestling has improved a lot in general from 10 years ago, so maybe it doesn't stack up compared to then (or maybe modern fans will just nitpick anything that isn't a 5 star match), but she played her character well and was entertaining.

No. I always found her below average in the ring. Not one memorable match in my mind.

    It's basically this one

    and this one for me

You look at the older matches though and what ODB brings to the matches was not that impressive. Like compare the triple threat to the top tier NXT or main roster matches in recent years.

ODB's biggest talent is being a solid base as the Hamada match shows .

I think she was an interesting character with basic wrestling skills who was able to be carried to an average match by better workers.

Admittedly, I wasn't a fan of hers. I felt indifference toward her in general. I guess, she was all right. In my opinion, she got over more due to her character than her in-ring skills. I mean, she was good at connecting with the TNA fans. However, her shtick became tedious over time.

Define "wrestler". Is she a great worker? Nope. Does she entertain? Yup. She has fans so she is effective.

    Was ODB good in-ring wise?

Not really, however having said that, she did have one of the more interesting characters, in the early days of the knockout's division, which no doubt helped her get over with the crowd. Basically, she was/is decent at best in the ring, her mic skills aren't that good, and what was at one time an interesting character (compared to the other knockout's in the division at the time) has long since been played out.
