Default Jack Swagger released by WWE

Jack Swagger was on Chael Sonnen's show today, and announced that he was released by WWE.

Surprised nobody else mentioned it elsewhere.

    Thanks, surrender.

Finally, he's free to pursue his other passion, a mission to Mars.

    Excuse me, Marth.

Very surprised to see nothing about this on .com

It's something that felt inevitable though. How long until Jack Hager emerges in the Impact Zone?

A ton and a half of credit to Rad for this superb artwork

I'd like to see him in New Japan and not as a member of the Bullet Club. Just wrecking shit.

A shame he's done with the WWE, I was always a fan of his.

Having said that, like Ness, I would love to see him in New Japan.

No way he goes to TNA with their new contract structure, demanding 10% of earnings from Indy bookings. It's already caused 5 people to bounce this week alone.

Swagger in Japan just makes so much sense. Needs to happen

( ?_?) - 97% of PW suddenly think Michael Cole is awesome. If you're part of the 3% that still thinks he is an annoying tool, copy & paste this into your sig.

Glad Swagger finally asked to be released. He was horribly misused and at this point, had no reason to remain in WWE. Like others, cannot wait to see him in Japan.

Awful news, I lost Rosa less than 2 weeks ago and now Jack is gone. Fucking awful.

YOU DESERVE SO MUCH BETTER JACK! YOU ARE BETTER THAN "CODY" AND SHOULD HAVE THE BULLET CLUB BEG FOR YOUR SERVICES! Jack deserves so much better man, one of the best fuckin talents in the business man.

WWE misused him. Maybe you could not trust him as a full time champion given he messed up but give me a fucking break that he can't even find time on Smackdown to do something. This man should have been a key player on SD for god sakes.

Being a member of the WWE roster does not guarantee anyone a world title run in TNA. It really never was the case to begin with anyway. Would it really have been a smart business move for TNA to deny Kurt Angle and Christian runs with the World title? When guys re-invent themselves successfully in TNA after floundering in the WWE for awhile they might get a run like Drew Galloway. Damian Sandow's chances of getting the TNA world title are shrinking by the episode and I just don't see anything big on the horizon for the former Brodus Clay. So the joke about former WWE curtain jerkers becoming TNA champs is long past its expiration date and was a bit stale to begin with, no offense. I would say its almost becoming the opposite these days as guys who called the Impact Zone home for a long time are now becoming champions in the WWE. Styles, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode and the list will get longer.

Anyways... I liked Swagger and he will be better used going somewhere else. Hopefully it's New Japan and he stays far away from that dump that is TNA.

Man, what a wasted talent. So much potential but the booking was weak and his push to the title was too soon.

Good news for his career, if not his bank account.

He's. gotta do the anti Mexican gimmick. He'd be the biggest heel.

They missed a couple opportunities with him, I thought.

I remember before they brought him back as the Real American, I wanted them to bring him back face, Cesaro was doing the bit where he said he could beat any American for the US title and I thought having Swagger answer the call and giving him a solid run with the US title would have helped.

Following that up, I thought the timing of his face run with Rusev was unfortunate for him. They were strapping the rocket to Rusev to build him up for Cena, so the feud ended up being pretty one-sided, but Swagger was getting great reactions during that feud, especially considering how dead he had been coming into it. It was the first time I remember being amazed how well Rusev was doing with the stereotyped "evil foreigner" gimmick and I totally bought into Rusev as a result. I wish they could have done better by Swagger during that feud, because he could have been a more valuable piece beyond just that feud.

I honestly forgot that he was even on the roster at this point. Jack Swagger is someone who could have used a change of scenery the last few years. Let him go to New Japan and explore the Indy circuit for now. Swagger working with a variety of new opponents will certainly freshen him up. I'm sure he will have a WWE return in a few years.

No, I very much doubt it but if he can actually fight and land one shot in that be an improvement.

I loved Swagger during his first ECW run, but his hot and cold booking and his awful "we the people" gimmick killed any fandom I had for him. He is perfect to be a wrecking gaijin wrestling machine in Japan and I hope that's where he goes. Keep him away from the bullet club, just let him be a badass and he could be awesome again.

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

Cant tell if being sarcastic or not. But absolutely not. Swagger is 10X the athlete that Punk is, not to mention he's way bigger than Punk and can actually wrestle. Swagger beats up Punk in less than a minute.

I'm just counting down the minutes until Swagger vs Matt Riddle is booked somewhere on the indies. That's probably the only Swagger dream match.
