Default Did Victoria way oversell this move?

It's on 4:04 to the Tequila Sunrise. Here's the link to the exact time:

She tapped, like, immediately to Gail. I thought champions were supposed to last longer than 2 seconds in submission holds

Yeah, that seemed pretty quick to me.

Wouldn't be much of a submission hold if the opponent isn't tapping shortly after it's applied. I know drama and all that, clicking that link I was expecting a Rock sell of the Stunner type of thing. Am disappointed.

She tapped to one of the greatest of all time so no. And I have seen a lot of submissions that look less painful get faster tapouts.

Just curious, why do you think Gail would rank so high? I was just surprised to see Victoria, arguably the toughest diva on the roster during that era, tap so fast.

    I wouldn't say so.

    1. It was on Raw, where matches move faster.

    2. It can be told as she tapped quickly being it wasn't a title match. Why risk injury for a regular match of no real importance?

    And

    3. In MMA, if a person gets locked into a submission, they tap really quick. If it anything, it's making it look more realistic.

Because that was early into Gail career and she only continued to get better. She was putting on classics in TNA where woman wrestling was consider much better than when WWE was in there period of 7 minute max diva matches. Anytime someone tried to bring up someone best match in TNA it most likely featured Gail Kim. And Victoria/Tara tried TNA during a time when they had more freedom with the movesets and still didn't really do too much.

So once something finally kills off TNA and WWE buys their library. Gail will definitely go in the HoF before Victoria.

There is nothing wrong whatsoever with that sell. It made the submission itself and Gail Kim look very dangerous

You want to see bad overselling, look up some of Mickie James's matches. Some of her sells would have made Curt Henning blush.

I guess it's more the angle itself. Gail always struck me as very dainty and petite, and yet here she is beating Victoria with a simple half crab.

Being a submission specialist was Gail Kim's niche in the WWE though, especially during her earlier years. Her aerial game was inconsistent back then and she didn't use many high impact moves (which would have looked silly doing on the much larger Victoria anyway)

As a Victoria fan I MUCH preferred her jobbing to a well executed submission from Gail Kim than a mediocre spinning heel kick from someone scrubby like Candice Michelle. That shit ALWAYS pissed me off.

Very true on the jobbing. Assuming this was in fact Gail's specialty then, what would you say about the actual move?
