Default Justice League of America #1

Today the debut of my most anticipated book was out on the shelves and your digital retailer today. The new JLA team written by Steve Orlando is built on two important ideas. The first is the idea of redemption as you see with Frost. With her big moment in the Justice League vs. Suicide Squad storyline, she is the inspiration for the new team. The other rationale for the team is everyone is deserving of a chance to be a hero whether they are super powered or regular everyday human. It's a book of hope and inspiration.

The book is set up as an introduction to the new team. I've made a thread before about the members of the team. The team is the real America: inclusion and representation. There's POC, LGBT, men, women, and even a space alien. I feel good about this book moving forward. Seeing the interactions together in the first issue makes me wonder how they will react during a crisis.

    Go read this book!!!

I enjoyed the first issue for the most part, though I do have to question Lobo being on the team. I mean, Batman made it a point to mention he was putting together a team of mortals, surely a character with immortality doesn't qualify as a mortal.

He wanted the team to represent the people. Who can't relate to Lobo? A bastitch!

So the first (non-rebirth) issue of Justice League of America came out this week... I thought it was alright, for what it was.

I was intrigued by rebirth and the fallout from vs. SS, but this issue I wasn't really feeling. I might try the next to see if anything changes, but so far it hasn't wowed me.
