Well please tell me what's wrong with enjoying games the way I want to. It isn't entitled to choose not to buy games that run at poor framerates.

Choosing what you will is fine. Just tech whores who shit on everything because it isn't the best of the best are a bit twatty, even though the difference, while noticeable, still isn't relevant enough to matter. It's all marginal at best. I remember having a 50 Inch TV people tried to shit talk because it wasn't HD, still had a great picture, but couldn't see the the wrinkles on Adam Sandler's elbow, Jesus fucking Christ.

Well, you can blame the video game industry for that gen because they're the ones that chose to sell the systems using those numbers.

By the way, while I'd never pass on a game because it didn't run at 60fps... I do wish all games would run at 60fps.

PS4 mid-year sale is on now. I just got Shadow of Mordor for 6 bucks. I haven't played it so I'm looking forward to it.

Other big games of note are FarCry 4 and Madden 17 both on for 20 bucks. And if you're like me and haven't downloaded Journey on PS4 yet it's currently free.

AC: Black Flag is also super cheap if you haven't picked that one up yet and have been wanting to play it.

There's a ton of other stuff but nothing that jumped out at me. Maybe there's a gem or two in there I know nothing about so if anyone has some recommendations I'll hear 'em.

Dude, you're a legend. I haven't been paying attention to my main page...

Was able to pick up Lego Hobbit for $5. Add that to our list of Lego games to play.

After I stumbled upon Little Big Planet 3 being a free download earlier this year (which went over huge with my daughter) I've made it a thing to check the store at least once a week for deals. They had an E3 sale but it wasn't very good, then a sale that just ended over the weekend (FIFA 17 was the only game I almost bought, everything else was old or stuff I never heard of) and now this one. I think they're trying to push hard for the influx of students about to finish school for the summer and keep them inside.

Until Dawn is one of PS Plus's free games for July. If anyone has not played the game so far, you have no excuses now.

RT beat you to it by a few days just 3-4 posts up.

His game never hit my radar before. What can I expect from it?

I finally had a couple hours to myself last night so I started it. Here's what I've learned so far:

It's metal as fuck. You're a never-before-seen character in the Middle Earth world. I won't give away any story but you're in Mordor and there are Orcs/Uruks everywhere. You can't just jump in and start running missions, you have to be stealthy and pick where you go carefully (at least at first, that will probably change).

You have a sword, bow and dagger, all of which can be upgraded as you progress. The stealth mechanics are annoying. It's hard to move around/to/from objects when you're crouching. That's taking some getting used to for me.

Speaking of stealth, the orcs are comically stupid when it comes to using it against them. I snuck up on a group of orcs and started taking them out one by one. At one point I grabbed an orc and slit his throat and an orc right beside us heard me, but then I finished the kill and crouched and he went right back to ignoring me so I could easily kill him. Other than that, the combat is pretty good. It's easy to master but doesn't make the game any less easy. You can easily find yourself surrounded if you're not quick to take out enemies.

The coolest part of the game is that it feels continuous. There are Orc captains throughout the world that you have to take out one by one in order to get certain upgrades/progress the story. They get stronger as you go on, but on the flip side, if one kills you he gets promoted and becomes more powerful.

Assassin's Creed traversal (plus the ability to ride beasts at a certain point) meets Arkham combat, but with a great hook in the Nemesis system (look it up, takes a bit to explain). It's a pretty violent game, since you have a sword, takedowns aren't just choking a guy out or breaking a leg (ala Arkham), but decapitations and slashed throats.
