Got 4 episodes left. Hope the wait isn't too long. Don't wanna go manga route honestly.

To manga or not to manga, that is the question.

Unlike Berserk the anime will likely cover everything in my lifetime. *knocks on wood*

I'm still not feeling it. The only thing I like is Dafoe as he has that natural creepy ass voice.

So I started Ero Manga sensei and the student rep visited the main character's house. The other main is a shut-in locked in her room. She asked her brother if the rep was a girl. Then it dawned on me how stupid that was to ask.

When has the rep ever not been a girl? Not including an all-boys yaoi show? I'm sure it's happened, but you have to admit 99% it's always one of the feeeeeeeeeeemales.

So I have four days off from work (Friday through Monday), anyways I decided to watch the six Towa no Quon movies yesterday, some pretty good stuff. A lot of similarities to Marvel's X-Men, in that it centers around a group of people with unique abilities, being hunted down by a secret government organization. Basically if you like the X-Men, and the themes used in their stories, then you'll probably like Towa no Quon as well.

@G/B - If you're going to Americanize Death Note, which is what it looks like they did, then Willem Defoe is as good a choice as any to do the voice of Ryuk.

@Ness - Yeah but if the student rep wasn't a female, you wouldn't get that awkward scene, where the male character somehow manages to "accidentally" grab the females breasts, that always seems to happen in those type of shows.

The working within the police thing is what makes part one of that series great for me. It looks like the movie kinda just cuts that out completely taking out the best part, the battle of wits. Keeping your enemy closer kinda thing. I'll still watch it. I'll come in with low expectation hoping that it's more than mediocre.

I don't expect much from anime adaptations. I'll probably check it out as Netflix (at least the stuff I do watch) tends to have more hits than misses.

@Raven*, my bad, I actually meant to tag you but forgot, it's definitely a series that I would think you would like, given you do read the X-Men comics as well.

So I've only seen the first episode of Knights & Magic so far, it was alright for what it was... we'll see how I feel about the show once I watch the second episode, but as of now, I'm not overly impressed by it.

How about you guys, have you watched anything interesting from this season yet?

Haven't watched anything from "the list" so far. Might try Castlevania since it's short, but dunno if we can classify that as anime.

For One Piece fans, your worst nightmare or biggest dream is officially coming true. According to new reports from Yahoo! Japan, Eiichiro Oda has confirmed One Piece will be getting a live-action Hollywood adaptation in the form of a TV show.

The television series was just announced as part of One Piece's 20th anniversary. Tomorrow Studios will oversee the project, and fans will know the studio from Prison Break. Marty Adelstein, who was the executive producer on Prison Break, will be in-charge of One Piece moving forward.

For fans, the announcement of a One Piece TV show is something to fret about. Hollywood does not have a stellar track-record with anime adaptations, and One Piece is about as popular as anime gets. Eiichiro Oda's franchise just celebrated its 20th anniversary this week, and the creator has poured his entire life to the Straw Hat Pirates. With 800 anime episode and even more manga chapters to cover, One Piece is not a simple show to adapt, and Hollywood will be challenged hard to treat the adaptation right.

This is not the first live-action anime adaptation to be announced this year. Several weeks ago, fans learned that another classic anime series would be coming to Hollywood. News broke that Cowboy Bebop would be getting the Hollywood treatment with an adaptation of its own.

Continue checking back here at ComicBook for more updates about the One Piece adaptation. Oda is expected to release a statement about the adaptation and reveal his possible involvement with the series in the coming days.

Can't wait to see that shit show. Hope it uses the 4Kids Dub theme to spite, Lony.

Just came back from a small little con in my local area. It was a con that was run the schools to raise some money for education. I decided to pop in and for the most part they did a really good job for it's first year. There where a lot of local vendors ranging from video game, comic and a little anime. There were quite a few cosplays too and some very nice ones. Hope they continue to do it and hope it grows in size in years to come.
