This year, I predict at least half of the teams in the bottom half of the brackets (9-16), will make it to the second round. So that would be at least 16 upsets in Round 1.

The UConn women have fallen. Mississippi St has pulled off a great upset by ending a 111 game streak, but is still one win away from being the champions.

Wild. Mississippi State ended the streak on a buzzer beater in Overtime.

I picked South Carolina to win it all by defeating Uconn in the National Championship game and my sleeper pick of South Carolina still has a chance. I just had this weird feeling that this was the year Uconn lost. I just didn't see Mississippi State being the team that knocked them off. Good for MSU, though.

Congrats to Patrick Ewing for becoming the head coach of Georgetown. Will there be wars between Chris Mullin and Patrick Ewing? Will the rest of the country care?

I was always hopeful that Jordan would have given him a chance to see what he can do. Him being now a former Hornet staff, I also wish him well!

So Wichita State just joined the AAC.

Great news for Wichita State. They probably don't have to worry so much now about getting those quality wins as they will have better competition in the AAC than in the Missouri Valley.

Not sure what this means for Illinois State. On one hand, they should win the Missouri Valley next year. On the other hand, if they don't, where will the wins come from?

Also, will an AAC team leave as a result of Wichita State joining? Rumblings about UConn joining the Big East...

UConn would be a good addition to the Big East but that'd mean their football team would go INDP which it should have honestly given the AAC really isn't that great. It's Cincinnati and that's pretty much it. SMU is okay for both football and basketball though the former still has the dark cloud hovering over it.

AAC should be a fun conference if the teams live up to their potential, which is a BIG if.

Cincinnati, UConn, Temple, Memphis, SMU, Witchita State and Houston is a solid hoops lineup.

UConn's best move would be to go independent in football and re-join the Big East for everything else.

Also, Georgetown hiring Patrick Ewing is a big reminder that Big John is still running things up there.
