Gonzaga and Villanova are the two teams with the least obvious weaknesses, hence their consistency. I don't like, nor have I ever understood, how a teams performance 6 years ago or whatever works against a team of completely different individuals. This is probably the best Gonzaga team ever, or at least the most balanced (top 5 kenpom offensive AND defence). That's something to consider.

I find Florida State utterly fascinating and if they hit form, they're bloody dangerous.

Bolty, what you see as unsustainable regarding Kansas, I regard the sign of a championship team. They have a few problems at the moment but know how to win close games. They're on their way to 13 straight Big 12 titles after beating Baylor. I see this team in the final four.

And shout out to Coach Cal for his rant on the state of coaching jobs. Funny stuff especially with the fake news jibe at the end.

Wake with a big comeback win last night over Pitt. Keeps their NCAA chances alive and worst case scenario, they make the NIT. Get Collins to come back and good chance they are a Top 25 team next year. Getting Collins to come back is going to be hard, however.

Carolina is getting hot just at the right time -- just like last year.

Also, ESPN's Last 4 in and Last 4 out is hilarious.

UCLA Defeats Arizona 77-72. Impressive Win By UCLA. Still Can't Take Them As Serious Contender With That Defense. No team with defense like theirs has ever won the title, no reason to believe they'll be the first. Offense isn't going to win you 6 tournament games

BYU Defeats Gonzaga 79-71. Surprising to see Zags lose. Zags led 18-2 early on but BYU slowly stayed in it. It was tied @ 71 & BYU scored final 8 points. BYU has been consistently tough opponent for them more so then St Marys as of late. If they were going to lose this is perfect time to do it before the tournaments. They've built up enough to where this doesn't really do much except end undefeated season. Not many title threats as big as them

8 Big East wins for St Johns and I think they will beat Providence at home(Probably get mopped by Creighton's finest). If they can go 9-9 and go .500 in year 2 under Mullin with a young team, this is a great sign altogether.

St Johns has been stingy at MSG and at home, good sign for the BE Tournament. Important to try and get the 7 seed because I like St Johns chances more vs Butler than Villanova unless Nova rests their key guys for this tourney for the NCAA Tournament.

St. John's beating Providence would help Wake out a ton. With that said, Wake has a tough week coming up. If they go 0-2, then they're NIT bound.

Their metrics continue to be strong for a bubble team: RPI of 43, BPI of 33, kenpom of 33. Still need to beat someone. Louisville or Virginia Tech this week would be quality wins. Still having nightmares of the Clemson and Duke games at home. Oh what could have been.

At least one conference tournament is starting today: The Atlantic Sun. A host of lower D1 conferences start tomorrow and Wednesday. I'd be surprised to see more than one team from each of them in the big dance, but these tournament winners will be in the NCAA tournament and anybody who watches college basketball knows that crazy things can happen in March.

I think my favorite tournament format is the Ohio Valley Conference. For one thing, not everybody gets into the tournament. Also, while the lower seeds have a chance, it does reward the top teams with easier paths to the championship. The Southland Conference uses the same format.

Wake with a huge win over Louisville tonight. Collins continued his strong play with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Wake finally gets their signature win.

I happy with St. John's this season. They finally seem to be heading in a direction that isn't complete hapless. The other team I root for besides the Gators & Red Storm is Xavier they look done without Edmond Sumner.

Yeah, Xavier is firmly on the bubble right now. Having their next two games come against DePaul may not help them. DePaul has a terrible RPI and Xavier's calling card right now is their #32 RPI. To their credit, they do have 3 Top 50 wins.

Its going to be interesting what the committee does with them. Can honestly see them going either way.

Wake Forest finishes the regular season w/ 2 Top 40 wins.

They're a win over BC in the ACC Tournament away from being a STONE COLD lock.

St Johns got outplayed by a red hot Providence team, 7 maybe 8 if they beat Gtown this Weds is still not too bad of a result for the year I guess.

So nervous. Wake beats BC and they're in. They lose to BC and yikes. BC is really bad on paper. Terrible RPI and even worse in kenpom.

Unless total chaos breaks out, then yes. Beat VT tomorrow and they're in no matter what. 19 wins with the #12 SOS, .500 conference record, 3 Top 50 wins and 0 bad losses.

Things finally seem to be looking up for Wake. I've kept my eye on the Demon Deacons since 1995. Randolph Childress & Demon Deacons take on James Forrest and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets next on the deuce!

Well NMSU won the WAC tournament beat Bakersfield the same team that they beat the NMSU last year to get the tournament bid but this time NMSU got their revenge.

Nice turn around after a poor first half from NMSU, shooting about 28% from the field and turn the ball over in a high rate I believe 13 turnovers in the first half, and NMSU down by 13 points. Second half NMSU turn around while Bakersfield's team defense weren't the same saw in the first half and struggle to score while NMSU is playing their style aka playing uptempo. So NMSU returns to the tournament I dont expect NMSU to win the first round no matter who they play against.

Of My Top 5 Seeds I had 10 exactly where they were seeded (Gonzaga, Villanova, Kansas, Carolina, Zona, Duke, Kentucky, UCLA, Florida & Iowa St) / 6 seeded slot higher then actual (Oregon, Butler, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Cincy & SMU) / 4 seeded 1 slot lower then actually (Louisville, Purdue, Baylor & Florida St). So none of these top teams heavily over or under seeded, fine seeding & each region looks strong

I agree with all the bubble teams. Syracuse, Illinois St, Iowa & Cal Out / Wake, Kansas St, Providence & USC In
Wichita St & Middle Tennessee Both Underseeded

Kansas & UCLA Earned their seeds but I don't buy either. Have both losing early

    Final Four: 1 Villanova D 1 Gonzaga & 1 North Carolina D 3 Oregon / Title Game: 1 Villanova D 1 North Carolina

Marquette as a 10 and Providence in the play in game is pretty brutal, Providence went on a tear to end the year, thought the committee was more for how teams finish up the year.
