Anyone think this could be a work? With Billy being named the new owner at BFG.

Lets entertain the idea that the WWE has purchased TNA for one second. Just hypothetically.

The McMahon's move it, rather than just shut the show down a day prior to BFG - they let TNA save face for a day or two. Let the talent work their final matches and give it a really good go.

Hypothetically, they'd be a handful of WWE officials backstage seeing who is who and who does what, and how well they do it and making notes who to sign and who to future endeavour.

They'd be taking note of the professionalism of not only the in-ring talent, but the management and how well they handle what is otherwise a pretty shitty time for any company.

Why not just buy the library and pick up the talent. My question is why would the WWE waste their time with BFG at all?

This post right here is why.

Food for thought, on how much TNA might be worth.

AOL Time Warner sold the copyrights to WCW's name to the WWF for $2.5 million, in 2001. Shortly after the purchase, Vince McMahon purchased the entire WCW videotape library for an additional $1.7 million, bringing the final tally of World Championship Wrestling's sale to $4.2 million.
Financial publication Street Insider posed an interesting question of how much WWE would be worth if it were sold, based on the market price for UFC of $4.0 billion.

An analyst for Wells Fargo came up with a range of $2.7-3.4 billion if WWE were sold.

    http://www.pwtorch.com/site/2016/07/...sold-like-ufc/
Sinclair Broadcast Group, including ROH has assets in the total of +$5 Billion.

UFC also sold for $4 Billion.

While, Billy Corgan apparently has a $50 Million dollar Net Worth - I'm sure if he sold a house, he'd cover TNA.

Is it safe to say that TNA is staying put?

Let me guess, they'll tape 2 months worth of programming this weekend while all the talent is in town.

As the did a while back. Then they can get this business in order without the worry of putting together the shows.

So my friend blurted out saying WWE just bought TNA, and that WWE.com has TNA links in the search menu, as well as Matt hardy tweeting something about his location for Monday Night.

I'll believe it when I see it officially.

It's the left-overs from the old ' WWE Industry News ' page on WWE.Com. Ultimately it was removed years back because it kept showing TNA articles.

Sounds like TNA has secured third party funding for BFG and the next set of tapings... the cockroach survives again

I'm going to call bullshit on the entire thing.

Sure the company is in dire straits, needs cash flow, a complete corporate restructure and Dixe Carter future endeavoured.

But, in the backwards inner workings of the batshit crazy TNA mindset, this entire thing is either a work to get people to actually care about TNA for a week.. and you know what, they probably do have something BIG(ish) planned, it's just now all eyes are on TNA BFG to actually see it.

Or the entire thing is a clever ploy to put a bit of urgency into the negotiating process, planting a few stories here and there and letting the internet run wild with the idea ' WWE is buying TNA ' would no-doubt convince whoever is bankrolling the next month to step up.

Either way. It's a short term fix, TNA has always dealt in the short term. It's why they are the way they are.

Why do I have a feeling Dixie convinced Mom and Pop Carter to pay the bills one last time? Or maybe Jeff Jarrett used his cash for gold money to fund TNA's farewell tour? That would be somewhat appropriate.

Anywho, rumors are that TNA will continue negotiations this week with Corgan and the WWE.

Only three things will survive nuclear apocalypse: Cockroaches, Keith Richards, and TNA Wrestling.

If indeed a third party has stepped in, wouldn't common sense prevail and they would indeed ask some pretty tough questions?

How many times can TNA go down this road, without changing their MO? And when does Carter put her ego aside, and ask " What have I done wrong, what am I doing wrong? "

This is another band-aid fix, a short term solution for what has become a long term problem.

I've been waiting to paraphrase Scott Hall, if the WWE are a wrestling company that makes television, and WCW were a television company that makes wrestling, TNA has been a cute way for Robert. W Carter to keep his daughter busy - he bought his little girl a pony.

TNA and common sense don't tend to go together. I dread to think of the millions of dollars they threw down the toilet with Hogan, Bischoff, Flair, Val Venus, The Nasty Boys, Tito Ortiz, Rampage Jackson, Mr Anderson, Orlando Jordan, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman... that's not even mentioning the decision to go live and tour, and the brief move to Mondays which slashed their ratings in half.

TNA was doing OK until 2010. As soon as Hogan arrived the company was doomed.

Nope, in it's entire history, TNA has only turned a profit in one year (2009).
