    Agreed on the vBookie...

Also, I hope they drag the despair out a bit. Show the crew cracking, falling down in the hole..it will just make the battle back even sweeter. I have trust in the writers to do it right.

Looking back Abe's death really didn't get a chance to be digested. It's like when Farah Fawcett died and five minutes later Michael Jackson did and it was completely overshadowed when Daryl took center stage and then the shocker with Glenn. Of course maybe that was necessary to show us that any of them can go at anytime and no one is safe. As gruseome as this was... in a sick twist it's kinda hard to not sorta justify retribution. Yeah, Daryl and co. blew up some of Negan's men... but Rick and them DID go to his compound and murder several dozen guys that were sleeping. Sure they're not innocent...

The great thing about the show though is it's different enough from the comics that it feels like a completely different series. I STILL don't get how Rick made the decision in the books
    Spoiler
but after this there's just no way I can buy it if that same happens in the show.

It's taken me some time to digest that episode and actually put into words what I watched last night , both an incredible and incredibly dark episode , I don't know there has even been such an emotionally gut wrenching episode of television I've ever watched. It was both uncomfortable and gutwrenching and that not only speaks to the writing but the performances by everyone involved.

My two odds on favorites to get the bat all along with Abraham and Glenn , just never did I think it was going to be both of them. I really didn't want to see Abraham go but I get it , and I already has accepted it if it was going be be Glen but they did try their best to throw us off that scent. My only minor complaint and it's mostly because I'm a massive Abraham fan is that he was sort of used as a red herring to Glen's death but it still provided purpose and he never cowered which I definitely wanted to see from old dolphin smooth.

Overall I love the story , and still stand by the decision to make us wait all summer long on the cliffhanger. I think the story they told and are going to tell is going to be incredible and I just want to see our group of heroes rebound and get their vengeance on that magnificently portrayed son of a bitch in Negan. That's going to keep my going and I thought it fitting that normally the coolest head of them all in Maggie was the first to be like go get some people and fucking kill them all. Such an awesome thing coming from her and gives her character some refreshing moving forward. That girl has been through more than anyone on the show and she is going to be a driving force moving forward.

It looks like next week we are going to be introduced to the kingdom and while it will might be nice to see that story start , I really don't want to move away from our group at this time. We just had a long ass break and while that last episode may need some time to stew , I don't want to go away from it already in the second episode.

    Just my thoughts.

Waiting 7 months and then having to wait 20 minutes into the actual episode to find out who died just kinda pissed me off and I wasn't as emotionally invested in the rest of the episode as I should've been. They really should've ended last season with Abraham and then opened season 7 with Glenn because by the time the actual deaths happened I just didn't care anymore.

Going to pay out just the Abraham bets. The whole point of the vbookie was who was at the end of the bat when Negan was finished with his "eeny meeny miney moe" schtick.

One thing that's kind of odd to me is the decision to make that the cliffhanger finale. Normally a show that uses a cliffhanger shows you something exciting, something to look forward to. Not a downer.

Has there ever been anything as violent and gory on tv as that show last night? They pushed the envelope.

Rewatched both several times and wow the blood flying in the air during Glenn's put Old Faithful to shame. And then to have a skin flap stuck to the barbed wire... all while Negan is reacting in post-coitus bliss. Insane.

And even then , that show is on HBO where pretty much anything goes.

AMC has obviously been pushing the boundaries but this was clearly pushing it to it's limit.

The only thing that was uncomfortable for me was how long he made Glenn suffer. I laughed originally when I saw the eye pop. That's just my normal reaction to stuff like that, but the fact he made him suffer for what felt like ages just murmuring away when he could just put him out of his misery, that's what got me pissed.

I agree that it was a fantastic show. Did you notice Abraham giving Sasha the peace sign right before he took the bat? That was a nice subtle goodbye he gave.
The Kingdom shpuld provide a little relief after that brutal episode but I also hope they don't too far from Negan in the coming weeks. Rick still has to go back and explain everything so we will get more of that Broken part of him for that story while we get the intro to king Ezekiel and Shiva.

I think the cliffhanger was so well executed and kept under wraps. They made the right call there. Filming everyone in death was a brilliant move and using that footage was a good piece of filmmaking. I am really excited for this season and at the same time am really apprehensive about it. They tore my heart out last night and I fully expect there to be more pain coming before Negan's story is done being told - especially if it follows the comics even loosely. Negan has a really good story to tell and JDM is he perfect guy to tell it.

It was just so extreme for TV, the dude's eyeball was coming out of his head, the blood, I'm pretty sure there have been far less gorier scenes cut from movies by the MPAA, that was definitely more extreme than some of the death scenes that got cut from Friday part 7(MPAA went overboard on that one, kind a ruined the movie really, they had a vendetta against that franchise ). I don't know how they get away with it.

Funny a guy's eyeball can be hanging out after having his skull bashed in with a bat but the "F" word is crossing the line

Yeah, I'll never understand censorship practices, some of the most violent imagery ever put to film, can't show a nipple.

They went nuts on the live Talking Dead afterwards trying to bleep out everyone. After Lauren Cohan threw a few bombs out there, Hardwick went on a tear swearing over and over just to let his guests know that they don't need to filter themselves.

I said that Walking Dead had one episode to get me re-invested in the show, and incredibly they stuck the landing....I still think this should have been the season finale of the last season because it opens up so many new storylines on the aftermath: How will the group react to what they experienced, how broken is Rick, how will Maggie react, what will happen to Daryl etc..., that being said, it was still a pretty incredible episode.

it's been awkward for me and my friend, feeling like w're the only ones that felt both relieved and cheered when Glenn died. Mainly because of how many times they've been teasing his death all last season. And because Abraham's death didn't feel big enough for the wait of the cliffhanger. I loved the actor, from Band of Brothers and Southland, I've been waiting for him to get more of a storyline, and it just never happened. And when it got to cutting Carl's arm off, we wished it was Rick's hand like we thought would happen last season with the Wolves. And then just sort of went with it, although Negan clearly never watched any med TV shows with the line he drew.

For Negan, I mean, he has a point to do what he did to Rick's group. When you look at how many people Rick's group killed off from Negan, Negan had all right to just kill off everyone if he wanted. It's not Negan's fault that Rick only brings his starters with him and doesn't send the red shirts/ stormtroopers to missions anymore.

It may have been more graphic than scenes that got films banned for years over here back in the day. I think it may have actually negatively hurt the impact of the deaths. I was more shocked at such gore being allowed on a TV show, repulsed at such a visual (a desired reaction they'd have been going for) and amazed at the quality of the effects more than I was upset at Glenn's death. It was straight-up torture porn. Bizarrely I have come away from that not really hating Negan (even though it was a fantastic performance) as I should. Less can be more and the violence and brutality being out of shot or focus and only seeing the end result may have worked better. Maybe the Glenn fake-out death has played a role here as well. Of course they'd have gotten shit if it wasn't the same as the comics.

I'm not a big fan of the show really, didn't like the first season, got caught up and enjoyed the second season but they lost me quick with season 3. From there on I would always watch the season premiers, which were usually pretty good, but they always lose me within an episode or two. I fucking hate the oriental dude, he's actually probably one of the reasons why I could never get into the show, he's the worst actor out of the bunch and his character is so prominently featured with the other girl with the terrible fake accent. Also really loathed the Shaemus guy, but even still with my dislike for those characters and my indifference towards the show I was disturbed by that scene, the eyeball, the way he was murmuring to the bad southern accent girl, for a piece of fake fiction to be able to disturb you is pretty powerful. This is the extremes they have to go to to get people off their cell phones and into what is going on on tv in 2016. Welcome to the future. Some faces of death shit.

They really should have killed Abraham in the finale, would have made the premier so much more shocking.

    Absolutely.

I'm sure the whiny fan boys would've complained that they didn't pull the trigger on the same killing as the comic book and yada, yada. But it would've definitely been less stressful for us who waited all those months to see it. I don't know how well they'll bounce back this season, but I don't think I can handle negativity after negativity episode after episode with Negan owning them. I'm sure it'll be great when they finally get their revenge, but there's only so much negativity that a human can take week after week.

That was probably the most brutal hour of television I've ever watched.

You know, I wasn't really bothered before the episode aired. I was hoping it wasn't Daryl and I didn't really expect it to be Glenn after last season but as soon as pointed it at Abraham and then slammed the bat down - it was horrible. I was totally caught off guard by Glenn too. I don't think a show has ever made me feel so down about something that has happened in its story. It was just horrible.

That being said, it was a tremendous episode. In terms of the acting, the production, everything. The actor who plays Negan is fantastic and I've never hated a character so much so quickly and they've achieved their goal as I, and many others, are excited for when Rick finally gets revenge on him.

That scene at the table too with Glenn and the baby.

There's a scene leaked where the first victim is Maggie. Instead of saying lick my nuts she spits at him while Glenn is knocked out. Gonna assume the other ones will be DVD extras.
