    Default Why'd everyone leave?

What happened? Why'd this subforum die?
Seeing this section of the forum being totally abandoned makes me so sad. I used to love coming here in the early 2000s.

I get that we all grew up and had less and less time for this place but why didn't a new generation fill our spot?

Did software protection get to good and the new kids never learned to get cracked software?

Was using Photoshop for fun some kind of early 2000s trend?

Facebook and reddit. Forums are on the way out. Software protecting is weaker than never, and photoshop is still in use [now with Gimp things are even easier]. But people prefer to chat on FB now rather than a forum.

    Flowers gathered in the morning,
    Afternoon they blossom on,
Still are withered by the evening:
You can be me when I'm gone.

    That all sounds about right.

It's too bad. Those other places don't have the same feeling of community forums have.

It is sad. I remember this place used to thrive. Same with this forum really. 2009 into 2010 were the last great years for this whole forum in general, imo.

People only want to interact with friends/followers that agree with them, nor discuss opposing views.

Ohhh how I miss this place!

I litteraly owe my career to this forum. Because of A&G here, I decided to become a graphic designer in my teens and now, 16 years later, I am an Art Director in one of the biggest agencies in my country.

    So awesome how time flies!
    ...we're all mad here...

For a group of creative people, it was more lack of creativity that killed the forum.
People were sick of doing wrestling competitions, but when people would have tennis or other comps, there was little interest in them.
The initial group of people who made this forum awesome all got bored of doing wrestling comps and banners by the time the second and third wave of people such as myself came around. It didn't help that those initial people also didn't care about wrestling anymore, so their care of designing a product and knowing the ins and outs of it also waivered, and killed a lot of the interest in this forum.
It was also just victim of a sign of the times changing, and the way people communicated on the internet changed. Most forums aren't adding members in a younger demographic, so using software that requires time, dedication, and skill combined with a late 90's/2000's way of communicating online is just not something on anyone's radar when you can take a picture on your phone, pop a filter on it and upload it to your instagram in seconds.
It's other peoples' loss though-I had many great times and memories on this forum and had lots of great friends and competitions that I enjoyed. PW graphic competitions are something I'll always look back fondly on. .
