Default This or That?- Sports Edition

Not unlike the other This or That thread, just answer the previous question and ask one of your own. Detailed answers are encouraged, but not mandatory.

More exciting postseason: NBA or NHL?

NHL, more parity and more chance of an upset. There's a nice balance of teams rotating in and out, not the same storylines of Lebron, Spurs etc.

Way too much stoppage late in the game, total opposite for hockey which picks up big time in overtime.

Better draft system: NFL's(Draft pick compensation for losing players with no penalty on the team signing, 7 rounds, trading of picks) or MLB's(Draft pick compensation involving losing picks over signing players, 30+ rounds, no trading of draft picks on day of draft)

NFL by a mile. It's like watching a game of chess, or poker.

Who's winning the EPL? Leicester City, or Tottemham?

The NFL pro bowl by far, at least with the NBA all-star game there are some fun contests like the dunk contest

The NFL , far more positions to fill , so much more uncertainty and drama. The fact that it's become a three day event speaks for itself. And personally I hate the fact they don't trade picks , instead they trade rights to a player after he's been drafted.

Ohhh he was drafted by Washington , but he's not going to play there. We'll find out in about twenty minutes where this guy that just got picked will actually be playing... ugh.

NFL Quarterback as they are the most important position in their sport. Starting pitching is becoming less important with the higher importance being put on the bullpen.

I'm going with NBA but it comes largely down to personal taste. I can't even watch the MLB or the playoffs until it gets to the World Series where as I watch the matchups in the NBA from the beginning. This year hasn't been all that great , and it could be tweaked a bit (5 game first rounds) but I still enjoy it more. Than again I would watch regular season NBA or most sports over playoff MLB so I'm a horrible person to answer.

MLB by far. NBA playoffs are too long and the first round are usually mismatches. MLB playoffs are exciting throughout and you never know who will win in a series.

Which franchise would be rather be a coach of: Cleveland Browns or Philadelphia 76ers?

The Browns by far. I think the NFL is a far more coach driven league and while the 76ers have been awful as of late , the Browns have been a snakebitten franchise forever now. You bring a title to Cleveland and you are a demigod and forever etched in sports hero lore. If you lose , you just become another glossed over footnote in a long list of failed Browns head coaches.

I don't recall any seasons ended or shortened because Goodell couldn't negotiate with the players' association nor does he implement a different playoff selection method or set of divisions seemingly every year, so Bettman is the worse of the two.

City that will win a championship in any sport next: Houston or Los Angeles.

LA Kings have the goalie and have some solid pieces to get another title win under their resume when it is all said and done and the Dodgers have the funds to always be a threat to win it all so Los Angeles. Rockets seem like a mess, Texans I think are missing a few pieces to really be a legit AFC threat(We have to see with Osweiler) and Astros have the youth but they are 1-2 reliable starters away from Kid Keuchel of being a favorite in the AL.

Walk off granny....especially in a big game.

More disappointing...the ATL Braves start or Laremy Tunsil losing big cash in the draft?

Tunsil losing cash. I don't think Atlanta had high expectations to begin with.

Easier to watch at an international level: cricket or soccer.

Roger Goodell, and I'm saying this as a Canadian hockey fan. Hating Gary Bettman is in our blood.

But Goodell is a fucking super villain. Gary Bettman just plays favourites with American sports franchises.

LA. The Rockets and Astros won't win anything any time soon, I can't see the Texans winning the Super Bowl before JJ Watt retires, and the Houston Dynamo are dead last in MLS.

The Kings are good enough that they could win the Cup sometime in the next few years and nobody would be surprised, the Lakers aren't going to suck for long, the Clippers are only improving, the Dodgers are pretty decent right now and the Galaxy just finished dominating MLS and could again. Only team I'm choosing to ignore is the Rams because they're the Rams.

I understand you have no knowledge of the English Premier League and either teams, but I just have to say that Leicester have all but won it now, there's just 2 games remaining for them and they're 8 points clear right now- Tottenham will have to win all 3 of their remaining games and Leicester will have to lose their 2 games for Tottenham to win the league.
The League win for Leicester will be the biggest upset in English football ever!

I'll leave Leper Messiah's question for someone else I have no knowledge on American Football landing spots for a college quaterback

CFL. Better talent, CFL has some former coaches from the NFL and it has much more similarities as far as rules go than the NFL compared to arena football.

Given the stories on 2 females coaches landing gigs in the NFL and Becky Hammon being one of the bigger coaches in Popovich's corner

Lakers. They go from the great Minnesota era with George Mikan, to the early L.A. days with Jerry West and Elgin Baylor, to the early Forum era with Wilt The Stilt in the middle, to Showtime with Magic, Kareem, Big Game James, Pat Riley, and a stellar back-cast, to Showtime 2000, run by Kobe, Shaq, later Pau Gasol, and Phil Jackson. They also went to more Finals than Boston, so that counts as well.
