True about his work ethic. That seemed to be the one thing that could hinder his talent. If he hated his situation, good luck getting him to try enough to live up to his talent.

I agree with Untouchable about switching out analysts regularly. The ones that are great will find people that want their insight.

And Blindy is right a Mike North. He was one of the most annoying douches on Chicago sports radio.

How much did he really have to know though , the guy ran like 3 or 4 routes for his entire career.

Go half speed , lull defender to sleep and turn on the burners.

His unwillingness to block also was evident , so I don't think he was ever studying the playbook hard on running plays.

Despite him being a Viking , he is someone who I will always stand up for and for being one of the most talented players I've ever seen touch a football. However I don't think his success in New England is because he came in there and studied hard and learned the system.

If he were a student of the game AT ALL his career could of been longer because he would of had more of the nuances and technique down to extend his final few years , instead of losing his world class speed and jumping ability and falling off a cliff.

Moss had a lot of flaws in his game...this was NOT one of them.

Now Moss didn't have the kind of technique a Jerry Rice, Rod Smith, or Hines Ward had at the point of attack, but he was a very willing and enthusiastic blocker.

Okay so when he WANTED to block , he could be effective might of been a better way to put it , however he took A LOT of running plays completely off. Especially if he wasn't involved in the game early.

Regardless he was never a student of the game , if he were his career wouldn't of plummeted like it did. Randy Moss with even 70% of his abilities , had he been a student of the game could of definitely prolonged and added another chapter to the end of his career. He wasn't though and when he was no longer the fast or most gifted athlete on the field his career went straight to the toilet.

Imagine if he would of learned the nuances , how to properly run routes , more about the overall defense other than whether they are playing one high safety... he could of been effective for a lot longer. Instead he never needed to really study the game , ergo he never did like most greats and I think the end of his career was cut short because of it.

I agree. But at least he played at a high level at times. Sean Salisbury was a backup QB that couldn't read an NFL defense and has been earning money as an "analyst" for years. I think the entire world of sports "analysts" has been full of idiots for a long time. ESPN has always thought that silly Berman or yelling fools was better than actual real sports journalism. I hate Bayless and all of his peers and copycats. He and the rest like him are the reason I stopped watching sports shows over a decade ago.

Oh Salisbury. That guy was a treat from beginning to end.

You know that someone has to be a tool that even when my 9 or 10 year old mind , who was still learning about football looked at that guy as nothing more than a tool. Usually you take these guys at face value around that age but Salibury's ignorance was so damn transparent ....

What a legendary meltdown. I remember when Emmit Smith screwed up all the time and annoyed Chris Berman to know end.

Skip was such a cunt, that Stephen A seemed good. Now Kellerman is owning his ass almost everyday and really exposes what a pile of diarrhea Skip Bayless really was. Stephen A will quit ESPN in three months tops.

Until ESPN "influences" Kellerman to be more like Bayless and less of an original personality with his own opinions. ESPN doesn't want good sports talk or people owning one another , they want people to say stupid shit and their other personalities to counter with even stupider shit.

I cant believe the shit they are saying. Calling Lebrons comments about media not giving credit to Jordans teammates crazy sounds weird to me. Its the freaking truth. MJ got bounced in first round THREE TIMES IN A ROW. 6 Finals, 6 Wins is such a overrated stat it makes me fume. People you are smarter than that.

FT is crap. Where are the jokes? Where is the fun? Max talking about analytics is boring as hell and Stephen A seems annoyed.
