When NXT wrestlers showed up on RAW and SMACKDOWN to attack the WWE superstars, The Authority were caught in the middle. Their project took matter into their own hands and now they had to find a solution. When Paul Heyman suggested to unleash ‘The Beast’ on NXT, Triple H responded that it will all blow over in a few days.
It did not. Samoa Joe held Paul Heyman hostage during the next RAW and called out Brock Lesnar. Infuriated with Samoa Joe’s mocking and taunting, Brock Lesnar went on a rampage. When he finally found Heyman, tied to a chair, Joe was nowhere to be found. Heyman, falling in and out of consciousness, told Brock he will have a match with Samoa Joe at NXT TakeOver.
Another victim of the attacks, WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion, Seth Rollins, mirrored Triple H’s view on the situation. He became more and more confident. After all, he was the first NXT champion and currently the top WWE superstar. His confidence triggered that of a famous boxer, Apollo Creed, from the Rocky series. He even challenged anyone from NXT to have a match with him at NXT TakeOver. “If whoever shows up can last five minutes with Seth ‘freaking’ Rollins, than you can call it a success. No longer am I the future of this business, but the present! And the present will go on for a loooooooooooong time!”
The one to answer the challenge, Hideo Itami! Itami reminded Seth that everything he accomplished in NXT has been flushed down the toilet when he showed up in the ‘big league’. Nothing he achieved, he did on his own. First he had The Shield backing him up, tearing down the roster, and then he sold out to The Authority. ‘Look around you Seth, what is happening right now, is exactly what you did when you showed up here. You may have been the future a couple of years ago, but your time is up. Oh, and the only reason our match won’t last five minutes is because you’ll either run away crying, or slip into unconsciousness when I keep kicking you in the face!”
Kevin Owens tried to play off the attacks as being a part of the NXT Invasion. The NXT crew didn’t think of Owens as an ally and received a beatdown as well. The next RAW he grabbed a microphone and aired his grievances. He directed his frustration at the current NXT Champion, Finn Bálor, whom he has not yet defeated in their two recent confrontations. Kevin told Finn that he offered his help during this invasion, and was turned down. Bálor told Owens that this war wasn’t personal and that things needed to change. Owens cut him off, “You want change, how about this for a change, huh, how about at NXT TakeOver that championship on your shoulder changes hands and comes back around my waist!” The Match was set, but both man agreed that since this was the third time they faced off, it had to be something special, without anyone interfering, settling their feud once and for all. So Finn Bálor vs. Kevin Owens will take place inside a STEEL CAGE!
After both the Dudley Boys were attacked during their championship match against The New Day, and put through a table, they showed up in Triple H’s office. They told Hunter, that he promised them the WWE World Tag Team Championship and those NXT punks ruined it! Triple H offered them the opportunity to take on their ambushers, but The Dudleys refused. “No! We want the gold! We aren’t going to fight those punks, the next time we step into that ring, is when we get a shot at the titles! Got that!?” Triple H got it, and told them, that if that’s what they want, they can get the hell out of here, because they’re FIRED!
The New Day heard all of that happening from a distance and started laughing, but when Triple H noticed them, he told them they will have a match at NXT TakeOver and their Tag Team titles will be on the line! New Day lost it, they just had to defend their titles, last week! Triple H ignored them, and when he was asked who would be the challengers, he responded, “The two men who were responsible that you can call yourselves champions today, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy!”
Sami Zayn cut a promo on RAW stating that for decades WWE’s formula for greatness was the fact that you had to be a 6 foot 5 muscled up power-freak. Yet, somehow, the Daniel Bryan’s, CM Punk’s of this world get pushed aside. “Now I am most certainly no muscled-up freak of nature, but I sure as hell can take one down.”
Cesaro interrupted him saying that he somewhat agrees. Being a tall and big guy can only get you so far. However, nowadays, you have to have the complete package … like him. “Sami, you however, will never have the total package, because you’d have to jump 2 feet into the air, in order to be able to punch me in the face.” Cesaro claimed that he was far superior than Zayn and the only way Sami was going to beat him, was with pure luck. So Zayn challenged Cesaro to a match, which Cesaro agreed upon. “On one condition, the luck factor will have to be taken away, so let’s do a two out of three falls match, okay? I would wish you good luck, but you’re not going to have it twice, so…”
Something happened during the invasion. Something we have never seen before. The NXT Woman’s champion, and member of the Four Horsewomen, Bayley, betrayed their stable. Bayley took it as an insult that she was the only one, not being called up to the WWE. For their entire career in NXT the Four Horsewoman agreed that NXT was better than WWE as far as female wrestling was concerned. However, Bayley was the only one to not make the jump. Bayley called them all hypocrites and challenged the current WWE Divas champion, Charlotte to a Champion vs. Champion match. Charlotte accepted, saying that whoever comes out as the victor at NXT TakeOver, she will have a little flair.
Out of all the NXT invaders, one actually didn’t invade. He aligned himself with WWE’s superstar Dolph Ziggler. That man was Tyler Breeze. Dolph told Tyler that everything is better in the WWE, better pay, better chance to get yourself a nice girl, a lot of exposure to the WWE Universe. Ziggler also told that with their combined good looks and amazing talent, they would become the most epic duo in the history of this business. So they started tagging with each other, defeating every second-tier tag teams in the WWE.
The Vaudevillains, Simon Gotch and Aiden English, sarcastically congratulated them. They said that defeating randomly thrown together tag teams does not make you the best duo. Simon and Aiden offered Ziggler a chance to come take a look at NXT TakeOver and bring Breeze with him to face a real tag team. Ziggler told them he was having too good a time to lower himself to NXT, and even Breeze said he wasn’t going to go back to the minor leagues, now that he made it into the WWE. The Vaudevillains weren’t going to back down so easily, however, and made sure ‘The Hollywood Blondes’ as Ziggler and Breeze called themselves, didn’t win another match. They kept interfering and taunting the duo until Ziggler and Breeze finally couldn’t take it anymore. These two teams would square off at NXT TakeOver!
John Cena. WWE’s Golden Boy. He cut a promo on Monday Night RAW, saying that for the last year, every up and comer from NXT debuted on WWE television, hoping to defeat him and make a name for themselves. “Well, I am still here. Rusev couldn’t put me down long enough, Sami Zayn couldn’t beat me, Neville came up short, and even Kevin Owens could not finish the job. So who’s next?”
That question got answered pretty roughly, Apollo Crews sprinted to the ring and manhandled John Cena. John Cena was laid out in a matter of seconds. No one has ever seen John Cena been beaten down this quickly and this easy as Apollo Crews did. For weeks Cena was not seen on TV, nursing the injuries he sustained. Apollo Crews than took to the ring and challenged John Cena to a match at NXT TakeOver. “John, I want to prove to the whole world that I am what you inspire to be. Yes, our physique may look the same, but over the last year, all those fancy moves you added to your arsenal. I can’t look at your matches anymore, I cannot let you butcher those wrestling moves and make a joke of our business any longer. At NXT TakeOver, I, Apollo Crews, will take over. I will take over for you, John. These people deserve someone who can actually perform in every possible wrestling style. I want me some, Cena, and I’ll come and get some. But when I am done with you, everybody will see you for what you really are.”
R E S U L T S
*** Seth Rollins defeated Hideo Itami. Hideo went all Rocky on Rollins and kept going after him, Rollins rolled him up for the win, but Itama was clearly on the same level as Rollins.
*** Aiden English and Simon Gotch defeated Dolph Ziggler and Tyler Breeze. Typical win to shut up the arrogant bad guys.
*** Samoa Joe versus Brock Lesnar went to a double knock-out. Both guys tore down the arena. In the end, neither was able to get up to his feet, as Heyman was in shock. Both men laid out in the middle of the ring, in a puddle of their own blood.
*** Sami Zayn defeated Cesaro, 2 to 1. The first fall went to Sami Zayn, who caught a lucky break in pinning Cesaro with a schoolboy. Just like Cesaro predicted, luck… Cesaro then showed of his unhuman strength and uppercutted his way to an equalizer. Sami Zayn had to make sure, his head was still on his shoulders, but eventually made a comeback. After a grueling match, Zayn was able to hit the Brainbustaaahh on the top turnbuckle. Somehow, Cesaro pulled himself up into the corner. Zayn than knocked him out with the Helluva Kick to secure his second pinfall and the victory.
*** The New Day defeated Amore and Cassidy to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship. When The Dudleys returned, The New Day were saved once again. With Cassidy thrown through a table at ringside, Amore fell victim to a Big Ending/Trouble in Paradise. After the match, Amore, Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods were put through tables by Bubba Ray and D-Von.
*** Bayley defeated Charlotte. Bayley overcame the odds, when both Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks tried to interfere. In the end Bayley defeated Charlotte, causing further arguing between the three now WWE divas.
*** Apollo Crews defeated John Cena. Not even John Cena could deny the unbelievable strength/agility combination of Apollo Crews. Just like with every NXT superstar recently, John Cena was laid out defeated. But will Apollo Crews be the first one to keep Cena down? Only time will tell…
*** Finn Bálor defeated Kevin Owens to retain the NXT Championship. In a battle of the night, Bálor went 3-0 against Kevin Owens after a Coup de Grâce from the top of the steel cage. After the match, Triple H came down to the ring to raise Finn’s hand. “VINCE, it’s time for change. In with the new, out with the old!”
Ever since Takeover: Brooklyn; the on screen and backstage presence of Triple H has not been felt like it had in the past. It seems as if Triple H has his mind set more on the backstage goings on along with The Authority and his champion Seth Rollins. This has caused a very visible breakdown in the shows of NXT. The shows have become more attitude era-esque then it has been since it debuted. The wrestling itself is still the best thing in the WWE but there's more of a hardcore feel; which has really separated itself even more from the main roster. With no direct leader in the nxt locker room, several disgruntled members of the nxt roster have been popping up on Raw and Smackdown wanting to get the attention of Triple H. Not because they want him back, but because he abandoned them and now these nxt wrestlers want revenge.
The wrestlers that have been invading are guys that have been held back to long by triple h saying they weren't ready to be on the big shows yet. But they are out to prove otherwise.
Raw week one:
First it was Samoa Joe and NXT champion Finn Balor coming out and attacking both John Cena and Seth Rollins.
Smackdown week one:
On Smackdown after a hard fought victory by Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, they were viciously attacked by Baron Corbin and Solomon Crowe.
Raw week two:
Triple H cuts a promo talking about Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Baron Corbin and Solomon Crowe. He doesn't understand why they are here and why they are attacking everybody. He doesn't understand it but assures none of that will be happening tonight because he has extra security surrounding the doors. Nobody will be getting in here.
Smackdown week two:
Once again the security is barricading the doors stoping any NXT wrestler from coming in.
Raw week five:
Triple H cuts a promo starting the show saying that for the past three weeks nothing has happened, and since the NXT roster has learned to not mess with Triple H, he knows nothing will happen tonight. Well, as luck would have it, later on in the show, Japanese wrestling icon Hideo Itami jumped out from the crowd and he hit Cesaro with The Go To Sleep much to the shock and awe of the wwe universe. Security comes running out from the backstage area and Hideo escapes back through the crowd as Triple H stands there on the stage furious.
Smackdown week five:
Kevin Owens had just defeated Fandango when he heard a familiar song play. He turned to face the stage but no body was there; Sami Zayn came from under the ring and was standing behind him. When Kevin Owens turned around he was shocked to see Zayn there which lead to a vicious brawl and attack by Zayn.
Raw week six:
Tyler Breeze came out of nowhere and hit Ziggler with The Beauty Shot causing him to lose to Rusev.
Smackdown week six:
Bayley, along with Carmella, Alexa Bliss, and Emma, all attacked Charlotte, Paige, Becky and Sasha leaving them all laying.
Raw week seven :
And the final attack would be the unlikely duo's of The Vaudevillians/Blake and Murphy/and the ever popular debuting Enzo and Cass all attacking The Dudleys, New Day and The PTP.
Raw week eight:
Triple H had enough and demanded that all of the invading nxt superstars see him in the ring and demand an explanation. The first person to speak up was Samoa Joe, and he said it very directly, we don't owe you a damn thing because you left us, and that ever since he left them, theydon't listen to you anymore. After Joe, Finn Balor took the mic and said this; that's right because someone has recently taken notice of our new attitude and likes that we are going against the rules. In fact... He wanted us to tell you this... you make the rules; and we will break 'em!
SEXY BOY plays and out comes The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels to a stunned Triple H who is in shock at what he is seeing. The crowd is going insane as Shawn makes his way down to the ring. He stands in front of his new nxt and in front of Triple H. Shawn smiles and in a flash delivers sweet chin music to Triple H. Triple H falls to the mat and all of the main rosters that were attacked comes down and the NXT vs. Main Roster battle lines have been drawn and crossed.
Raw week nine:
The next week on Raw, there is a confrontation between Triple H and HBK. HBK says that he's seen a change in mindset within the roster of nxt. They realized that with you as the leader backstage, none of these wrestlers were ever going to make it. Triple H was fine with letting them stay there because that's all they will be within the company. Shawn went to NXT and talked to these wrestlers and said that in order to get noticed, you need to break the rules, something he and triple h knows very well. Triple H gets tired of this and asks what Shawn wants. Shawn says NXT Takerover is coming up very soon and what he wants is a one show supercard. Triple H’s best against NXT's best. The winner with the most wins at the end of the show wins. If team WWE wins, Triple H keeps control of NXT. But if team NXT wins, Shawn becomes the new leader of NXT.
Champion vs. Champion:
Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins
Woman's elimination match:
Bayley/Alexa/Carmella/Emma vs. Charlotte/Paige/Sasha/Becky
First time ever dream match :
Samoa Joe vs. John Cena
Fight without Honor:
Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens
Tag Team Match :
Baron Corbin/Solomon Crowe vs. Roman Reigns/Dean Ambrose
Hideo Itami vs. Cesaro
Tyler Breeze vs. Dolph Ziggler
Tag team elimination match:
Enzo & Cass/Blake & Murphy/Vaudevillians vs. Dudleys/PTP/New Day
NXT Takeover Preshow match:
Ryback vs. Apollo Crews
Kid Jericho ("Charlie")
SpoilerIt began with a slap …
Triple H’s pet project, NXT, had been gaining momentum for months. After another successful Takeover special, Triple H invited some of his top talent – NXT Champion Finn Balor, NXT Women’s Champion Bayley, Hideo Itami and Samoa Joe – to sit front row at Monday Night Raw.
Throughout the night, most WWE Superstars paid little mind to the NXT competitors, only Sasha Banks talking trash, primarily at the women who dethroned her for the NXT Women’s Title … though with choice words to the men as well. Bayley ends up swinging at Sasha, and gets escorted out for her actions (to the chagrin of the crowd).
The Main Event that night was a rematch between WWE Champion Seth Rollins and United States Champion John Cena. Rollins was unable to put Cena away as “The Champ” countered his every move. After a clothesline to the outside, Rollins stomped around the ring frustrated, when he spotted the non-chalant NXT wrestlers sitting ringside. Rollins began jawing with them, and slowly the three men stood up. Rollins took a step closer, fixing his gaze on NXT Champion Finn Balor (most likely because Balor adjusted the title onto his shoulder, ensuring Rollins saw the belt). Rollins mouthed him “been there done that,” pointing to the NXT Belt.
Balor just smirked at Rollins, but Rollins takes a step closer and SLAPS Balor across the mouth.
Balor, Itami and Joe all immediately begin attacking Rollins, hammering him with clubbing blows. They climb the rail and the crowd is losing their mind as the NXT Wrestlers beat the hell out of the WWE Champion. The ref calls for the bell as the Cena stands there watching in awe – possibly having flashbacks to the Nexus invasion years ago. This time, however, the NXT wrestlers don’t go after Cena – they’re focused on the man who insulted their champ.
With Rollins down, the NXT Stars stare out proudly at the crowd, who are still going crazy. Suddenly, the NXT Godfather, Triple H, rushes down, yelling at his guys for attacking his guy. The three wrestlers back off, when suddenly Joe nails a vicious uppercut to Triple H! Triple H, staggers back and the three NXT grapplers begin attacking the WWE and NXT figurehead!
At this point, John Cena realizes it’s getting out of control and goes outside to try and calm the NXT wrestlers down. As expected, Cena’s actions are meant with violence, and Balor, Joe and Itami take down Cena. As the three men survey the damage, they seem satisfied with the results and hop the barricade, leaving through the crowd as Seth Rollins, Triple H and John Cena lay wasted ringside.
The next week on Raw, Triple H promised to confront the NXT attackers. He made his way down during the final segment, and lectured the crowd on loyalty. He said he’s had nothing but loyalty to the WWE and has continued that to NXT, but last week showed zero loyalty in return.
Triple H turns to the entry way and demands Finn Balor, Samoa Joe and Hideo Itami come down to the ring and face him. He waits, as the crowd grows anxious for their return. What he hears catches him – and the WWE crowd – completely off-guard.
Triple H stands in shock and the crowd erupts as CM Punk steps onto the entry way, flanked by Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Hideo Itami.
Punk says that Triple H looks surprised. He tells Triple H that it’s interesting to hear him talk about “loyalty.” He knows from experience what “loyalty” gets you in the WWE: nothing. And these three men – and all the men and women busting their ass in NXT – are learning that right now. Because Triple H doesn’t think they’re good enough to be hear on Raw. Why? Because of the same reason he didn’t think CM Punk was good enough: because they made themselves, the WWE didn’t make them.
He says this man right here (pointing to Balor) led New Japan Pro Wrestler, selling out crowds most WWE “superstars” could only dream of. Oh, but he’s not the prototypical size, right? This man right here (pointing to KENTA) did the exact same thing for nearly a decade, but we can’t push Japanese people as anything other than a stereotype, can we? And this man right here (pointing to Joe – getting a really good pop) – well I can tell you first-hand he’s the baddest man I’ve ever stepped in the ring with, and you didn’t grab him when you could have because you only saw Umaga 2.0.
ENOUGH! Triple H yells. He says he doesn’t know who the hell he thinks he is, but he’s tired of hearing this. He wants to know what Punk wants; why’s he here tonight. He says NXT is HIS creation and every person in NXT believes in him.
The four men on the ramp laugh, and Punk says that Triple H may write the check, but every person in NXT stands by Punk. Suddenly, the entry floods with the entire NXT roster, who stands united by CM Punk.
Punk says four years ago he proclaimed he was the Voice of the Voiceless, and the only reason I’m back is because I saw entire locker room of talented wrestlers being told they weren’t good enough for the “big leagues.” I’m here to change that.
So I’m challenging you to a competition at the NXT Takeover in St. Louis. Seven matches. If we when the majority of the matches, we take Smackdown! time slot.
“And when we win?” Triple H says, laughing to himself.
If your team wins – we stay working NXT events as long as possible, barred from ever stepping foot on Raw or Smackdown! again.
Triple H thinks for a second, and asks what’s in it for Punk. Punk confers with Joe and Balor for a second, and then turns his attention back to Triple H. If we win, he says, I’m back in the WWE with a freshly-minted title shot vs. Seth Rollins.
The crowd explodes and Triple H thinks to himself. He slowly furrows his brow before growling into the mic ”YOU’RE ON!”
Over the weeks that followed, Triple H and CM Punk negotiated matches, some based on ideal match-ups, some built on spite and some built on opportunity.
The New Day def. the Vaudevillains and Apollo Crews
Originally set to be a battle of Tag Champs – the ironic pairing of the popular-yet-self-proclaimed bad guys, The Vaudevillains, and the “positive-power” of the hated New Day. The Vaudevillains continued to be outmanned by the trio of the New Day. Much to their surprise, an unlikely partner emerged in the newly-debuted Apollo Crews, who evened the field with a powerhouse to compete against Big E.
The NXT trio seemed to have the advantage, but the dastardly deeds of The New Day used a well-laced trombone shot to the head of Simon Gotch and a quick roll-up by Kofi to take the first win.
WWE leads 1-0
Dolph Ziggler def. Tyler Breeze
Tyler Breeze entered the fray upset that Dolph Ziggler had the audacity to call himself the “Show Off.” Breeze said the only one who should be showing off was him! The two men would exchange blows and sneak attacks several times during the weeks leading up to Takeover, and the animosity continued in the match.
The athletic, competitive match came to an end when Ziggle caught Breeze with the Zig Zag for the pinfall.
WWE leads 2-0
Sami Zayn def. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens was a unique figure. He was the latest big breakout star of NXT and was a firmly-entrenched WWE star. And he made sure to let the NXT roster know that, saying he already dominated NXT already and was putting out an open challenge to anyone on the NXT roster at Takeover.
To his surprise – and the crowd’s – the challenge was answered by a returning Sami Zayn! Furious at his former friend who attacked him, Zayn would do anything to get his hands on Owens, and he’d have his chance at Takeover.
The match was physical as expected, Owens attempted to again overwhelm Zayn with his size and strength. Owens specifically targeted Zayn’s head, hoping to stir and concussion. But no matter what, he couldn’t overcome Zayn’s heart and desire, and Zayn was able to score the pinfall after a vicious Helluva Kick!
WWE leads 2-1
Bayley def. Paige
Paige, who had aligned herself with former NXTers Charolette and Becky, surprised everyone when she said she wanted a match with NXT Women’s Champion Bayley. Paige said it’s because Bayley was just an upstart who got lucky to win the belt. She said she was tired of hearing she was the missing link in the Four Horsewomen of NXT – that there was a reason she didn’t join Charlotte, Becky and Sasha in moving to “the big leagues.”
At NXT, Bayley would show her how wrong she was, taking down the first-ever NXT Women’s Champ, Paige, and solidying her place in the Four Horsewomen.
WWE and NXT tied 2-2
Hideo Itami def. Cesaro
This was a match purely of respect, nothing else. Cesaro and Itami treated it as such, shaking hands beforehand and after Itami won with a beautiful GTS, shook hands after.
NXT leads 3-2
John Cena def. Samoa Joe
After the initial attack, John Cena made it clear he wanted to get his hands on one of the three men who attacked him. The one that stepped forward was none other than Samoa Joe. Over the next few weeks, we learned their history: how they began together in California, and how it pained Joe to watch as someone who was second-rate to him in the ring became the face of the WWE.
At Takeover, the two would put an instant classic: physical, aggressive and unrelenting.
In the end, though, Joe would get a bit overconfident and Cena ended up catching him with a third FU for the win.
WWE and NXT tied 3-3
Finn Balor def. Seth Rollins
As if there was any surprise, the event came down to the main event, a battle of the WWE Champion and the NXT Champion: Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor.
The athletic, WrestleMania-worthy affair was everything one would expect. Just as it looked like Balor would get the win, an unfortunate ref bump gave Triple H the opportunity he needs to run down and hammer Balor with stiff right hands. Rollins and Triple H began double-teaming the NXT Champ, until the man himself, CM Punk, ran down and smoked Triple H with a stiff roundhouse kick to the head. He grabbed Rollins and gave him the Go 2 Sleep, and just as the ref awoke, Balor nailed him with a double stomp to the chest and the 1-2-3!
NXT WINS 4-3
The NXT roster flooded the ring, hoisting Balor on their shoulders. Balor held the NXT Title proudly and Punk handed him the WWE Belt as well, adding insult to injury. Triple H and Rollins stared on sullenly as the NXT Stars cemented their place on the airwaves.
SpoilerOctober 7th, 2015
McMahon: Tonight, I am making my NXT debut because I had to see just what all of the hype was about, and do you know what I say? I say the hype is about to end. You see? This company...It represents the rasslin’ business. My father was in the rasslin’ business. Sam Mucinich. Verne Gagne. Eddie Graham. Don Owens. Fritz Von Erich. Do you know what they all have in common? They’re all dead just like the rasslin’ business. Just like this company after tonight. You see, I’m in the music business. I’m in the movie business. I’m in the entertainment business.
Brennan:This may be the last night of NXT, but it couldn’t go down any better! Wait a minute?! The clock stopped...Why did the clock stop?
Graves: Mr. McMahon is out here again...What the hell is this?
McMahon: Banks...I suggest if you want to be a Diva in my company you get the hell out of this ring right now. Get this crap off of my Network...NOW!

@RealKingRegal: Without an NXT, there is no William Regal anymore. It’s time to walk away from the business I love. So long.
@nxtbalor: They can take the WWE out of NXT, but they can’t take NXT out of the hearts of our fans. NXT is not dead. #NXTSTRONG
@NXTGraves: For those of you sitting through “entertainment” tonight, there will still be WRESTLING on Wednesday for FREE on YT. Visit nxtstrong.com to find out where! #nxtstrong #nxtwrestling

NXT LIVE Week Three
For the third week in a row, NXT did a free show at a vacant parking lot in Orlando, Florida, but tonight, the ending was a little different. A limousine pulled up, and Triple H got out of it. Ironically, no one associated with WWE has been around any of these shows until now. He got out of the limousine and caught the end of the main event pitting Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe, and Hideo Itami in a triple threat match. (Spoiler: Great match!) Corey Graves made no mention of it on commentary, and none of the guys in the ring made contact with HHH.
@TripleH: Enough is enough. The entire NXT roster is invited to Raw Monday. Let’s negotiate. #BestForBusiness
November 2nd, 2015
Cole: Tonight, Triple H has asked for a representative from NXT to come out and negotiate.
Layfield: This is the problem though. I don’t think Mr. McMahon wants to negotiate. Besides, Regal retired. Who’s going to represent them?!
Bow Down to the King
HHH: I called this meeting tonight, Pop. I want this to happen. NXT was my creation, Vince.
Cole: What the hell is going on? I think Triple H’s mic went out.
Layfield: What are the lights doing?
“You’re right, Hunter. We were your creation. We expected you to fight for us, but you didn’t. So now, we’re going to fight for ourselves. Don’t be surprised if you get caught in the crosshairs.”
Triple H is standing furious in the ring. “Who the hell is that?!” He shouts, but his microphone still doesn’t work.
“I’m the new NXT General Manager…”
HHH: How dare you! I gave you everything!
Graves: Wrong, Hunter. NXT gave me everything, and I gave everything back to NXT. Now, your doctors were the ones who told me I could never wrestle again, but if you think that is going to keep me from kicking your ass all over this arena, you’ve got another thing coming.
McMahon: Now hold on just a damn minute. We’re supposed to be out here to negotiate.
Graves: We have one proposal. Take it or leave it.
McMahon: And if we leave it?
Graves: Then you’ve got a full fledged invasion on your hands, and we show you just how bright the future of this business is looking.
HHH: What’s your proposal, Graves?
Graves: One last NXT show on the WWE Network. NXT Takeover: War of the Worlds. Seven matches. Our best versus your best. If we win, NXT stays on the WWE Network in Full Sail forever.
HHH: What happens when we win?
Graves: IF you win, several disappointed wrestlers go home waiting for the call to perform their craft at the highest level so Grandpa over here can make a few more crappy straight-to-DVD movies.
McMahon: For someone with no leverage, you are do seem awful confident.
Graves: I am confident, Vince. I’ve got twelve thousand people here chanting NXT…
NXT! NXT! NXT!
Graves: And maybe that isn’t enough, but that’s based on the assumption that those are the only people I have in the crowd. Cue them, Soloman.
Suddenly, ‘Roar of the Crowd’ starts playing! Soloman Crowe emerges from over by the technical area. Mojo Rawley, Bull Dempsey and Baron Corbin come behind him blocking the entry way. NXT Women’s Champion Bayley and Hideo Itami lead a group of NXT stars from one corner of the arena. Tag Team Champion Aiden English, Sami Zayn, and more NXT stars come from another corner. NXT Champion Finn Bálor, Enzo, Big Cass, and more come from another corner of the arena. Tag Team Champion Simon Gotch, Tyler Breeze, and more come from the fourth corner. They’re all heading down to the ring. HHH is watching all of them when Corey Graves smashes him in the head with the microphone. Vince goes to stop Graves when SAMOA JOE grabs him from behind and puts him in the Koji Clutch! Graves applies a choke of his own on Triple H, and he puts the microphone in Hunter’s face.
HHH: You got it! You got it! We meet your demands! The show is on!
NXT Takeover: War of the Worlds
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Seth Rollins © versus Sami Zayn
NXT Championship MatchSeth Rollins was less than enthused when he was told, for the first time ever, he would be defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on NXT Television. As the Florida parking lot shows continued, Corey Graves booked a tournament to determine who would ultimately face Rollins for the title. The finals of the tournament ultimately resulted in Sami Zayn getting the win in the finals. Rollins said he would have no problem dispelling the future because he was the present. Zayn very candidly admitted that this may be his only shot at the richest prize in sports and with his match going 7th, it could also be the tie breaking force to determine the fate of NXT.

[b]Ten Man WarfareCorey Graves said it would only be fair for the NXT Championship to be defended at War of the Worlds. He said it made no difference to him in the least who challenged for their top prize. Triple H, somewhat surprisingly, decided that he also wanted to hold a tournament to decide who challenged for the title. However, after Cesaro beat Rusev in the finals of the tournament, Mr. McMahon revealed he had other plans. Cesaro would not be challenging for the NXT Championship, Kevin Owens would. Owens bragged that he had the shortest tenure of anyone in the history of NXT. He also boasted that he was a former NXT Champion. Mr. McMahon revealed that Owens promised him to throw the NXT Championship in the trash when he won it.Mr. McMahon also promised Owens a shot at the winner of the main event.
Team WWE [John Cena, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Titus O’Neil, and Darren Young]
Team NXT [Samoa Joe, Hideo Itami, Soloman Crowe, Enzo Amore, and Colin Cassidy]
Champion versus Champion; Winner Takes AllJohn Cena said he mostly understood why the stars of NXT invaded Raw and made the demands they did. He said there was one thing he didn’t understand. No matter how despicable Vince McMahon was, he couldn’t understand how his friend, Samoa Joe, could try to injure the boss. Samoa Joe answered the call by saying all is fair in love and war. Cena replied by attacking Samoa Joe. However, it wasn’t long after the attack began that members of the NXT roster jumped Cena. Joe said the difference between the two friends was that Joe’s co-workers had his back and respected him while Cena’s didn’t. Cena proposed a match. He would find four of the best WWE guys while Joe found four of the best NXT guys, and they would go to war. The teams fleshed out, and they are both ready for war.
WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella versus NXT Women’s Champion Bayley
Grudge MatchAt the height of the Diva’s Revolution, Nikki Bella felt she still must comment on the NXT Invasion. She actually wanted to give props to Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch for getting the hell out of NXT before the ship sank. She said they had to have known it was coming. The one person who didn’t know it was coming was Bayley. She proceeded to say Bayley was a stupid, naive idiot who didn’t deserve to share the spotlight with the WWE Divas. Bayley responded by making note of the irony that a forty something bogus reality star with a giant freakin’ pink butterfly on her shoulder had the nerve to call her stupid. Bayley said if Nikki was so much better, she would have no problem putting her title where her mouth was. Bayley said the only reason she wanted the WWE Diva’s Championship was so she could do what Owens said he would do with the NXT title...Throw it in the trash.
Cesaro versus Tyler Breeze
WWE Intercontinental Championship MatchTyler Breeze demanded on YouTube and Twitter to be given an opportunity to represent NXT at War of the Worlds. He said he was the only true star and real superstar in the company because of his super-model good looks. Finally, after getting screwed out of an NXT Title shot, Cesaro was angry and available. He said NXT represented wrestling like he did while Breeze represented entertainment in the same way WWE did. However, he wanted to beat the hypocrisy out of Prince Pretty.
Ryback © versus Baron Corbin
Champions versus Champions; Winners Take AllThe WWE locker room was all looking for an opportunity to challenge the young, brash NXT stars. To determine the last match on the card, a battle royal was held. Ryback outlasted nineteen other men to earn the opportunity to face someone from NXT. He said he also wanted to put his Intercontinental Championship on the line because he was a fighting champ. However, Triple H revealed that the battle royal was held to determine who had the best endurance because they would be facing “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin.
WWE Tag Team Champions, The New Day [Big E and Kofi Kingston] w/ Xavier Woods
NXT Tag Team Champions, The Vaudevillains [Aiden English and Simon Gotch] w/ Blue Pants
New Day was on a tirade about how great they were. They were saying with the Power of Positivity, it made them the past, present, and future. However, that didn’t resonate with one person very well at all. WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley said they weren’t the past at all because the past was pretty cool. He also said they weren’t that great. They weren’t even the greatest tag team champions around. He said there were tag team champions out there who represented the past and the future, and it wasn’t New Day...In fact, he said it was Old Days. Old Days Rock! Old Days Rock! (Because Mick Foley is corny enough to pull that off.) Cue the carnival music, and The Vaudevillains had arrived. I could continue hyping this match, but come on...You know you want to see New Day versus Vaudevillains!
SpoilerThe first assault is complete, NXT stand tall over WWE's best and brightest. Samoa Joe snatches a microphone and proclaims that one man helped make all this possible and the man you think it will be was only part of a group, acting under the orders of someone who had the money, vision, access and scheming ability to pull this off, most importantly Vince never saw this coming.
He emerges to a loud return pop but quickly cuts it off, keen to get some things off his chest.
Who do you think bankrolled NXT, everyone out there knows how Vince likes his wrestlers. I wanted something different so I had secret meetings with HHH and Stephanie. Using my profits from all my other successful ventures I was able to fund NXT, the performance center, every single last aspect of it, plus I could use them as the faces of it. We all know HHH is being groomed to take over WWE when my father is six feet under and he liked what I had to say. We're all in agreement that dad is out of touch now, his views archaic. Consider tonight our declaration of war, we are NXT and we are here to TAKEOVER!!!
Baron Corbin vs Big Show
A notable absentee during the initial NXT assault was Big Show. The next week on Raw he came out and proclaimed that he wasn't scared of anyone from down there. They knew not to mess with a giant who'd swat them all away like flies.
Baron Corbin suddenly emerged, not from behind but just casually strolling down the aisle. He revealed that a pact had been made, everyone that had come and was going to come got to choose their targets. Corbin specifically requested Big Show since he wanted to take out the biggest and baddest dog in the yard. Now that he's getting an up close look though, he didn't see a big bad dog, he saw a little mutt infected with rabies that he was going to put out of its misery.
In the next few moments, Corbin would show just how much of a threat he was going to be, Big Show took an angry swipe which Corbin dodged, ran off the ropes and took Big Show down with a spear, Show rolled out of the ring grabbing his ribs as Corbin promised that very soon, Show would fall victim to the end of days and instead of walking off into the sunset, he's going to leave the WWE on a stretcher, begging for the pain to go away.
Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens
A week after the assault on Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn took to the ring to speak his mind. He explained how he was surprised people were so shocked. Kevin Owens repeatedly assaulted him and in the process of doing that, robbed him of several months of his career. While Owens has been having classics with John Cena and Cesaro, he's been forced to the sidelines. For over a decade they've been the best of friends and the worst of enemies. Through it all though there's one thing Zayn has always known and that's how much Owens values being in the ring.
He'd never admit it to the fans but this is the one thing Owens knows how to do it and if he ever lost it, Sami doesn't know how he'd take it. Now though, he wants to find out, he wants Owens to pay for the crimes committed against him. At war of the worlds, Zayn promises to take him out and make Owens sit at home, watching as he goes on to have the WWE career he should have already been having.
Enzo and Big Cass vs The New Day
The rising popularity of New Day has offended Enzo and Cass, they might have attacked the Dudleys upon return but that was only because New Day ran off, they could hear the trombone getting fainter and fainter when they emerged during your tag title match with them. They then proclaimed that at least the Dudleys faced us like men, sure they got their asses kicked by us first and then our NXT brothers the next week but they didn't run away like cowards. You three are the one team left in our way but it's only going to take the 2 of us to beat you because *clap* New *clap* Day Sucks, not only that but you are S A W F T SAWFT!!
In one final insult, The New Day were accosted by the NXT tag team division, held against their will and made to watch as Enzo and Cass stole the treasured trombone, headed backstage and threw it in a woodchipper, the noise being one that would forever haunt The New Day and in particular Xavier Woods.
Bayley vs Sasha Banks
Everyone knows the quality matches these 2 have already had, this one though, this is going to be a different flavour entirely. The week after her surprise assault on Charlotte and Sasha, Bayley explained her actions.
She might be the sweet little hugger of NXT but that in itself makes people underestimate her, makes them think she can be trodden on, disrespected and there was only so much of that she could take. She was never expected to win the NXT womens title and it was viewed as an upset even though she won what many are calling the greatest womens match, not just in NXT but the greatest womens match ever.
She still got left behind in NXT, the horsewomen split at the seams when the call up for the divas revolution happened she was told maybe next time Bayley, we can't quite fit you in right now. She's sick of being left behind so she wasn't going to wait for her call-up, she was going to make things happen. It's then revealed she is one of the driving forces behind everything that has happened with NXT, using her friendship with the four horsewomen to learn important information to help plan this invasion.
Tyler Breeze vs The Miz
One superstar took a really interesting approach to the NXT invasion. Miz didn't try to buddy up to them, rather he thought the smart approach would be to offer to use his Hollywood connections to help them out and hopefully get left alone. They were having none of it, Tyler Breeze in particular took great offense. He cornered Miz backstage and launched a scathing verbal attack about how he's already got MTV music awards for singing his own theme song, homes in some of the most prestigious areas of Europe and he's simply gorgeous while the only way Miz' Moneymaker would ever make any money is if people take pity on him after Breeze gets done mangling it.
Taking 2 steps back he quickly springs up with a beauty shot, sending Miz crashing into a garage door before getting out of dodge when some WWE Superstars turn up. The 2 are now on a collision course for Takeover.
Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins
This contest can be summed up in one word, that word is ego. After Finn Balor and Samoa Joe took out Ryback, Rollins would appear on the titantron in an undisclosed location so that the "NXT Brutes" couldn't get to him. Rollins described this invasion as nothing but a pale imitation of when he masterminded the creation of The Shield and that Finn Balor as a so called general of an army was laughable. There's only one army and there's only one Seth Rollins. At Takeover he considers it his personal duty to take out the false general
Finn Balors response was swift and of course demonic. Seth would defeat Zack Ryder on an episode of Smackdown, post match the lights went out. When they came back on, Seth was held in place by NXT tag team champions The VaudeVillans and Finn Balor stood just inches away, head to toe in demon make-up
Warning Seth that he stuck his nose where it didn't belong and that it was the worst thing he could've done. As the most successful former NXT champion, he was going to be given a rare oppourtunity to prove his loyalty but he destroyed that the moment he opened his mouth and as a result he's forever tarnished. Seth was told that he might have created and destroyed The Shield but NXT were going to destroy the WWE.
A 3 on 1 beatdown would follow, some WWE superstars raced down to the ring but the lights would go out again, this time red throbbing lights would intermittently flash. When they went away, Balor and the Vaudevillans were nowhere to be found as Rollins laid unconscious.
Samoa Joe vs Hired Gun
WWE was in a state of panic, Samoa Joe and Finn Balor were the generals of this NXT army and they were running completely roughshod over WWE. They are the sole reason John Cena isn't around to fight on behalf of WWE. A memorable line from their assault on him and Seth Rollins was "We know that Seth accidentally broke your nose, there's nothing accidental about this"
They then proceeded to drop Cena through the announce table courtesy of a muscle buster before propping him on a second table for Balor to deliver a Coup De Grace through it. The last sight of Cena was him coughing up blood and claiming he couldn't breathe.
Joe continued to look unstoppable every time he interfered in a match, didn't matter who it was, Sheamus, Ryback, Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton were just some of the names left laying by this seemingly unstoppable wrecking machine.
Vince Mcmahon knew there was only one man he could turn to but that it was going to cost him. After several closed door meetings, a price was agreed upon for someone to act like a gun for hire, the man who would face Samoa Joe at the next Takeover.
Samoa Joe mocked the closed door meetings, proclaiming there was absolutely no man he feared. He didn't fear the Undertaker, he didn't fear John Cena, he didn't fear Cesaro, he feared no man. It was at this moment that the gun for hire made himself known.
SpoilerNXT Takeover: War of the Worlds - Winner Takes All
Background: Brock Lesnar’s contract had expired and he decided he was done with pro wrestling (for now), which left Paul Heyman without a job in the WWE. Until the new GM of NXT hired him as his spokesman.
Paul Heyman: Ladies and Gentleman, you know who I am. My client, the new GM of NXT is tired of NXT graduates being brought up to fail on the big stage that is the WWE. He feels that they are being used as fodder for the older stars in the WWE and not being given their due. That man is Lance Storm. He has seen fit that they will get their opportunities, tonight. It’s Winner Takes All tonight at War of the Worlds. Titles will be unified and so will the WWE Universe!
Hideo Itami vs Cesaro
Cesaro wanted Samoa Joe in a revenge match for Tyson Kidd, but was told he would be facing Hideo Itami, by Storm. A match that has never taken place, anywhere.
Rhyno and Corbin/Blake and Murphy vs Wyatt Family/Bo Dallas
An interesting 8 Man Tag Team match. Rhyno and Corbin were foes that are now partners and “friends.” They will be teaming with Blake and Murphy, former NXT Tag champions and rivals. They have decided to put their differences aside for the overall good of NXT, at least for tonight. Storm told Bray Wyatt that he needed a fourth to go along with Harper, Strowman and himself. Bo Dallas, came up to Wyatt and said, “Family is family,” in joining the Wyatt’s.
Tyler Breeze vs Dolph Ziggler
Pure grudge match. Ziggler claims Breeze has stolen his gimmick. Breeze thinks Ziggler is just jealous.
Enzo Amore/Colin Cassady vs Dean Ambrose/Roman Reigns
Amore and Cassady want to take out one of the best teams in the WWE. The former Shield members are willing to let them have their shot, although it won’t be easy.
Bayley vs Nikki Bella to unify the Women’s titles
The first of three unification matches for tonight. Nikki has been running her mouth, saying Bayley is never going to be a diva. Bayley responded, saying when she kicks Nikki’s ass, a real woman will finally be champion.
The New Day vs Vaudevillains to unify the Tag titles
The New Day are confident they will win the unified championship, because their secret weapon, Xavier Woods, has put together a foolproof strategy. The Vaudevillains think that’s pretty humorous and said that Blue Pants is more than enough to take care of Mr. Woods.
John Cena vs Samoa Joe
For years these two men have both used the phrase: “The Champ Is Here!” This match will determine who is the be all, end all...champ. The first time they have been in the same company in over 15 years.
Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor to unify the World titles
Another first time meeting. Rollins has proven himself over and over as World Champion. He however has not met another man that can keep up with him speedwise. A man that can go move for move, another man that can has been on the biggest stages in the world. That man is Finn Balor! Seth Rollins has what he wants.

John Cena vs Apollo Crews
Match Three: A Classic in the Making*For months John Cena came out as the U.S Champ and gave a chance to any superstar to make a name for themselves against the face that runs the place, the standardbearer himself, John Cena. Though now without his U.S Championship, and with NXT invading WWE under the guidance of Triple H, Cena once again made an open challenge for any young NXT Superstar to make a name for himself. That man was new, up-and-coming NXT Superstar Apollo Crews. Crews stated that Cena is strong, athletic, and one hell of a performer. Crews then states that he is all of those things too, but wants to prove that he is the best. Crews accepts John Cena's open challnge and tells John that the old guard is going down, and a new generation is going to reign over the WWE. Can big match John win another? Or is the new era of WWE finally beginning?*
Cesaro vs Hideo Itami
Match Two: Tag Team Championship Match*Cesaro has been stealing the show every Monday night for months now. However he has failed to capatilize on that momentum and get a big win. If there is any man who can match Cesaro in toughness and physicality, it is Hideo Itami. Both men are going into this match to prove why they deserve to be here, and why they deserve to be at the top. Which man will come out victorious?*
The New Day vs Enzo Amore and Collin Cassady
*It's the most exciting tag team down in NXT vs the most excting, and annoying, team in the WWE. Both teams bring a unique energy to each match they're in, and both are very much endeared by the crowd as two of the most exciting, fresh tag teams of the last decade. Now these two teams are going to go head to head, with tag team gold on the line. Can The New Day use their Power of Positivity to retain their tag team champs? Or will Enzo and Cass take the tag titles and prove that The New Day are S. A. W. F. T. SAWFT!?*
Match One: Old Friends, Bitter Enemies (Street Fight)
Dean Ambrose vs Solomon Crowe
*It was Monday Night Raw. Dean Ambrose had just won a match, and was having a backstage interview, when suddenly the lights went out. When the lights came on, Dean's head had gone straight through a monitor, and he was lying on the floor bleeding. Standing over him was Solomon Crowe. Crowe would attack Ambrose for weeks, verbally and physically. Several times bring up their past friendship. Crowe says it made him sick watching Ambrose sky rocket to fame, while Crowe was saddled back with some stupid hacker gimmick. Crowe says that time is over, and he's here to inflict pain, and make Ambrose scream. But to do that he is going to have to take Dean Ambrose on in a match asked for by Ambrose himself, a Street Fight match. Both men are out for blood and pain, and both men will get just that. Which man will come out on top? "The Lunatic" Dean Ambrose? Or the "Death Machine" Solomon Crowe?*
The Show ("Hotel")
Location: Madison Square Garden, New York
When Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were relieved of their duties at Wrestlemania by the hands of Vince McMahon, many in the WWE Universe thought that it was the last we would see of them and for months, that belief was true. Then on one controversial night in Tampa Bay, Florida, the future changed. The future of the WWE changed because they arrived and they made a strong statement. During the main event bout between John Cena and Neville, a group of NXT stars invaded the ring and attacked John Cena. This attacked allowed Neville to pick up the victory and the United States title. What happened after the match was even more shocking. As the NXT Stars, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Sami Zayn, and Hideo Itami entered the ring, Neville cracked a smirk and all five superstars celebrated in the ring.
The next night on Raw as Vince was addressing the situation in the middle of the ring, cameras picked up several NXT stars backstage attacking production, camera men, and superstars and hijacking the show. In another stunning moment, with Vince’s mic cut, a familiar song blared throughout the arena and came out was none other than Triple H and Stephanie! They revealed their detailed and well thought out plan to take back Monday Night Raw and with the NXT roster in their corner, Raw would indeed become the power couple’s once again. Vince bargained and weaseled his way into a deal with the two.
In four weeks at a WWE Network Special called NXT-Vasion, WWE stars of Vince’s choosing will face off against the NXT stars of Triple H’s choosing in a series of 7 matches. The side with the most victories at the end of the night would assume full control of Monday night Raw.

Triple H quickly countered with an opponent that Daniel Bryan knows far too well – Hideo Itami. The two have had plenty of classic battles in Japan and at the Network special, the two squared circle legends will open the show and attempt to give their team the first advantage of the night.
Sea Slug ("India")
SpoilerNXT Takeover: War of the Worlds
Opening match: Bull Dempsey vs. Randy Orton
The match is over is less than 10 minutes when Bob Orton Jr, flanked by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, lassos Bull. Orton uses a second rope to Bull’s hands together so that he can’t remove the rope from his neck. Triple H comes into the ring, microphone in hand.
Triple H: Let’s make this easy, Bull. You want to get on the roster and I can make it happen. I’ve already fired William Regal from commissioner of NXT and you keep coming. Who is your leader?
Before Rhyno can answer, an aging man with a mustache, a large chin, and a campaign hat, complete with USMC emblem appears on the titantron.
Sgt. Slaughter: Good evening, maggot! Of course I’m the leader of this invasion. Who else could lead an invasion that actually works?
Triple H: Sarge, I know this won’t be long. You wouldn’t t\attack without an exit strategy.
Sgt. Slaughter: SHUT YOUR PIE-HOLE TRIPLE SLIME. I don’t need an exit strategy when I’m invading to conquer. I know what you’re going to do before you do it. Heh heh. I know you’ve probably got men in the back looking for me, but I’ll save you the trouble: I’m not there. I’m at Headquarters calling the shots.
Triple H: Then you’re really in no position to call the shots.
Sgt. Slaughter: Maybe not, but my corporals are.
Just then , Jake “the Snake” Roberts and Mick Foley come through the crowd armed with chairs. They chase Triple H et al from the ring and untie Bull.
Sgt. Slaughter: And that’s not all, Triple Slime. I’ve got another big surprise planned for tonight and you’ll probably try to stop me by sending in your muscle. Well, he’s already here!
The camera rotates to reveal Big Show standing behind bars in a cage as the titantron shuts off with Slaughter laughing off screen.
Table match: Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady vs. The Dudley Boyz
The Dudleys do their best to isolate Cassady by keeping Enzo out of the ring. It is semi- successful as Cassady is the first man through a table (by way of 3-D), but D-Von is tossed off the apron through a table as he tries to get Enzo in the ring. Enzo wins the match for his team by putting Bubba Ray through the table via a hiptoss to the corner after a low blow. [/i]
Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns
Reigns was one of the first to demand a match against one of the NXT wrestlers who hadn’t “earned his position on the main roster”. Zayn and Hideo Itami tossed a coin to see who would fight Reigns and who would wrestler Kevin Owens later in the card. Zayn won the coin toss, but lost this match after 20 minutes.
Bayley vs. Sasha Banks
The ladies are given plenty of time to shine in this match. Bayley wins and thus, will get a shot at the Divas Championship at some unstated time in the near future, presumably at the next PPV event.
Triple H, Stephanie, and Kane are shown in the back trying to strategize how they’re going to handle this threat, now that they know who is behind it. Kane says that they probably have something planned for the main event and volunteers to sit at ringside to make sure that things go as planned.
8 man tag match: The Vaudevillains and Murphy/ Blake vs. New Day and Stardust
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are in the ring for the bulk of that match with their primary opponent being Murphy. In the end, though. Stardust does the unthinkable and gets a win at a pay per view by pinning Aiden English.
Hideo Itami vs. Kevin Owens
The two seem rather evenly matched throughout. Every time Owens seems to get an advantage through power, brute force, or just plain wrestling, Itami outwrestles him, evades him and goes to the sky, or finds a reversal. The match ends by countout at Jake the Snake chases Owens up the ramp with a boa “ready to bite his head off” as Michael Cole puts it.
Samoa Joe/ Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins/ John Cena
Cena and Rollins get along surprisingly well given their history. Kane has virtually no impact at ringside as he just sits in a chair until the end. At the end of the match Kane, still completely in his suit, puts on his mask and steps into the ring to clothesline the referee and then to chokeslam John Cena. Rollins escapes the ring and tries to go up the ramp where Triple, H, The Ortons, and a handful of others are waiting, but Kane raises his arms in the air and throws them down to cause fire to spring from the top of the ramp. The show ends with Balor doing a double foot stomp to Cena as Samoa Joe chases Rollins into the crowd.
