Default Shoud Shane McMahon be inducted into the HOF?

I don't know if this has been raised before, but Shane really belongs there. He was involved in many major stories, took some totally insane bumps - diving off the top of the Titantron springs to mind here, and I just loved the way he did the Coast to Coast.

All those who say aye, post here. Those opposed also post with reasons. With Stephanie, or Vince to induct, or even, as a bit of fun, the MSP.

ETA: Sheesh! I hate it that you cannot alter headers after you commit a post. Would a kind Mod please fix the spelling of Should?

I think he should be eventually, but it definitely should wait.

I think he'll get in at some point for the simple fact that he's a Mcmahon. At the same time though he's had some cool as fuck moments that to my mind, deserve recognition. He certaintly wouldn't be the worst inductee.

Considering Drew Carey's in the Hall of Fame, I don't see why not.

The McMahon Family should all go in together. They put the 4 Horsemen in as one inductee, why not the McMahons?

No other McMahon should be inducted in the Hall before Vince does. The day he retires or dies, he goes right into the Hall of Fame.

"Every man's heart one day beats its final beat, his lungs breath their final breath. And if what that man did in his life, makes the blood pulse through the body of others, and makes them believe deeper in something larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized by the storytellers, by the loyalty, by the memory, of those who honor him and make whatever the man did live forever."

Because the McMahons all deserve in on their own (well, except Linda maybe), and there was never a point where all four of them were a united faction.

I don't know if Shane McMahon should be inducted into the HoF... but I have a feeling that he just wouldn't want to be inducted into the HoF.

Will he be? Of course, he's a McMahon.

Should he be? Not so sure tbh. From an on-screen stand point I'd struggle to find a reason.

Memorable feuds and a solid worker, considering he was never formally trained, and did a lot of crazy shit he didn't have to do because he was the bosses son. He took some serious ass kickings in his time too and had a lot of good matches, namely his match with Kurt Angle at King of the Ring.

Certainly a more worthy inductee than Drew Carey.

An interesting case, he was a great worker but I wouldn't put him in since he was on screen for such a short period of time. In the long run he will get in if and when he decides he his through with his own entrepreneurial interests however.

I would be ok with it if Shane gets inducted into the hall of fame.
Mainly because he has had some pretty cool moments during his wrestling days.
And if Jim duggon can get in, I do not see why Shane shouldn't.

Shane would be a pretty good inductee and he'd probably be inducted by Steph and Vince...maybe HHH as well

Hell yes he should. Shane was awesome.

One of my favorite performers of his era and a great character.

It should be awhile though , certainly should be after Mr. McMahon goes in.

He wanted to earn his own place in the world. There's something admirable about that.

Shane had some very memorable moments, but a HOF'er he is not; not even close IMO. If you take away the McMahon name, where would Shane be? He'd be no where near the world of wrestling based upon the in ring talent he showed that's for sure.

And even if he were worthy of the HOF, there are so, so many people that are far more worthy than Shane.

Jim Duggan has had a wrestling career that spans over 30 years, including a 7 year run with WWE where he ALWAYS got a great response from the fans. Jim is also one of the most respected wrestlers of the modern era as many other wrestlers have mentioned him as one of the true "nice guys" of pro-wrestling. So to say he doe snot deserve to be in HOF is just beyond ludicrous.

Champ, why would The McMahon family have to be a faction to get in? They own the place. They all have done things on and off screen to contribute to the success of the company turning it from a wrestling territory to a global enterprise. They could go in as one inductee if they chose to.

Shane was better on the mic, had better matches, and more memorable matches than 95% of the current roster. He was a pure entertainer and belongs in HOF.

    Koko B Ware
    Drew Carey
    Pete Rose

You want to tell me all those guys had bigger, more memorable moments than Shane McMahon? Really?

I'm not a fan of the "this guy should be in the Hall of Fame because Drew Carey is in the Hall of Fame" argument. By that logic, every single wrestler in the history of the WWE should be in the Hall of Fame. In which case the Hall of Fame becomes the collective WWE roster since its inception. Guys like Low Ki and Zach Gowen did far more in their WWE careers than Drew Carey did, but literally nobody would support their induction in the Hall of Fame.

I think the best policy is to completely ignore the anomalies such as Drew Carey and Pete Rose and focus on the merits of the person we are discussing. Unfortunately, with such names existing in the Hall of Fame, it is hard to define decent criteria for HoF candidacy. Even if we ignore all the celebrities, a guy like Koko B Ware sets the bar pretty damn low.

I brought this up on another messageboard, but the qualities for getting in are really low, all you really have to do is have a character that lasts for a decent period of time and you're in. Look at the current roster, and you'll find that a very large chuck will get in, based off how they've put people in in the past.....

    Cena - Lock
    HHH - Lock
    Undertaker - Lock
Kane - not quite lock, but yes
    Big Show - Lock
Daniel Bryan - safe to say he'll continue at this pace and get in
Punk - yes, so long as things don't turn sour
    Kofi - yes.
    Rey - Lock
    Goldust - yes
    Cody - yes
    DX (NAO/XPac) - as a group, yes
Hall - yes w/ nash as nWo
    Nash - ^
    Christian - yes
ADR - probably, I would say yes based of being a champion
    Orton - lock
    Batista - lock
Bray Wyatt - see Daniel Bryan
    Shield - yes
    Sheamus - see Daniel Bryan
    Miz - unfortunately =(
R Truth - probably, I'd say weakest chance of this list
    Zeb - lock
    JBL - Lock
    Michael Cole - lock
    Santino - yes
    Henry - yes
Brock - barring any fallout, yes
    Heyman - lock

Basically, it's rarer to find guys on the roster who WON'T make it, than guys who will.
