Default The Latest on Shawn Michaels Wrestling

Regarding Shawn Michaels coming out of retirement for one more match, it’s said the ball is in his court. WWE wants him to return for a singles match at WrestleMania XXX.

There is no talk of doing HBK vs. CM Punk and no talk of a potential tag match with HBK and Triple H vs. Punk and Daniel Bryan. If Shawn agrees to come out of retirement, WWE wants it to be for only one match and that match would be against Bryan. The segment with HBK and Punk on Monday’s RAW was done so they could save the Punk-HHH confrontation.

Whether or not Shawn decides to return to the ring, expect to see a lot more of him on WWE TV going into WrestleMania XXX.

Shawn won't return for an (official) match. If he does it will be an unsanction street fight kinda like piper and goldust or his match with HHH in 02. However I am 99% sure he won't return

Jim Ross basically said in his blog there was a 0% chance Shawn wrestles again. He said he has no desire what so ever to get in the ring. Judging from Shawn's twitter I believe he is truly done wrestling. The guy pretty much shows no interest in the product and has made it known he shows up when his friends asks him and thats it. He has no clue what is going on in the current product and doesn't care to know.

Shawn vs. Bryan at WrestleMania means no title match for Bryan at WrestleMania.

    No, thank you.

The thing that worries me about Shawn vs Bryan (which I'd really enjoy) is that it increases the likelihood of Cena vs Orton at Mania.

Thats my feelings, people make way to big of a deal of out of wrestlers retiring.I always thought that when a wrestler "Retires" it just means that their done wrestling full time and possible would wrestle a few matches here and their going forward.

So in my eyes if HBK came back and wrestled Daniel Bryan for one more match or even wrestled going forward a deal like Taker/Brock/Rock/Triple H were he would wrestle a few matches per year I would be totally fine with it.

Would you have said that about Ric Flair in WWE?

It'll hurt everyone on this forum when me and others are tweaking out about Bryan still not getting is final big moment on the biggest stage.

    No,No, No!

Bryan needs to be fighting for the title at Mania nothing else.

    Save this one for SummerSlam.

You're not asking me, but I'll answer anyway.

I wouldn't care. Flair vs Sting in TNA was awesome.

I've gotten used to that sort of talk. So I'll try not to wig out.

Are you serious? You'd say no to Shawn Michaels vs Bryan Danielson because Bryan doesn't win the title? That's absurd to me.

I don't know when this whole "Bryan needs to be wrestling for the title" movement started, because it's already driving me crazy and we aren't even close to Mania yet. There's two matches Bryan can be in that are bigger than the title, and those are matches with Hunter and Shawn.

This story isn't about the title. It's a story about proving people wrong, that Bryan can be the face of WWE. Despite what WWE has tried to retcon into storyline, being the WWE Champion does not mean you are the face of WWE. Is Randy Orton the face of the WWE right now? Fuck no. If Bryan was to wrestle Shawn Michaels in his return match at Wrestlemania 30, that's the biggest moment in his career. That's bigger than a title win over Randy Orton.

The title is a pawn in this story.

Who says the story has to end with Wrestlemania? Austin kept feuding with Vince even after he beat the Rock. This is the type of story structure that you can build years of stories around. In fact, I'd hold off Bryan vs Trips until Summerslam next year as poetic justice.

The notion that the best performer needs to be the world champion means that kayfabe is alive and well. Such fun.

It has nothing to do with Kayfabe being alive, its simple basic story telling 101, the hero overomes all adversaries and defeats the Villians in the climax of the story.

Wrestlemania is the climax of the story and Bryan is the hero.

Bryan overcoming the Athority and becoming the champion is the only place this story should go.

Besides what could possibly better or more important this year than Bryan overcoming the Athority besides Cena/Taker and even that one doesn't need the title in it.

Bryan needs to walk out of Mania as Champ or the whole last half of a year was all for nothing.

I'd honestly take just about anything over another Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton match.

I actually feel like somehow HHH sould end up against Bryan for the title unless they did Heel Cena vs Bryan which they won't.

    I can't see Bryan/Orton happening though.

Now the dream would be WWE world champion HBK vs Bryan.

If somehow they could convince HBK to do a short title reign for Mania season to drop it to Bryan at Mania.

O man could you imagine Athority champion HBK????

A pipe dream, yes but a beautiful one.

I wouldn't count out the idea of Punk vs. Bryan for the championship at Wrestlemania, in a feel-good big time wrestling main event.

HBK winning the championship reeks too much of the Bret Hart 2010 comeback.

Oh no you didn't just compare HBK's current state to Bret in 2010.
Bret vs. Vince was the drizzling shits, and the Bret couldn't even climb to the 2nd rope without stumbling after he won the US Title from Miz.

HBK could still work circles around anyone in a one match scenario...even Punk

It's a tad harsh but HBK has no business winning the championship at this stage of the game and honestly, I'd like to see him honour his amazing send off.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Bryan/Michaels would be an absolute dream match that fans would love to see, but I don't think it needs the championship nor do I think it should even happen. Sometimes, dream matches are better left off where they are.

HBK can actually work though, Bret obviously couldn't in 2010.

I would love to see Punk/Bryan at Mania though, possibly with a swerve of the Athority backing Punk??

I agree HBK shouldn't be in a title match. All I was saying was that HBK is in much better shape than Bret.

I don't know about your other comment...it's pro wrestling...I say let the dream matches roll!!!
We shoulda got Hogan vs. Austin at WM22.
And we shoulda got Hogan vs. Cena at WM25.
