No, it means his contract ran out, and he can do whatever he wants now with no 90 day bullshit to stop him. He could join TNA and debut this thursday if he wanted to.
Source(s): http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/...-his-contract/ | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7C8m...layer_embeddedTed Dibiase Jr. announced in the video above that he has decided not to re-sign and renew his contract with WWE. Dibiase said that the decision was personal, and that he wanted to pursue being a father and other opportunities. Dibiase said that he has had "amazing life experiences" with WWE, and noted that he will miss the company and the fans. He stated that this is not necessarily permanent, but that this was something he needed to do right now.
So that means he's been future endeavored?
Sounds like the perfect member of the Main Event Mafia.
Good for him though. He stuck it out and got out right when he had the chance.
I always liked Ted, but unfortunately he sucked when it came to charisma. At one point it did seem like he'd be the next break-out star after Legacy ended whilst Cody was dismissed but the opposite happened.
I hate how since Triple H has taken over that they're not firing any main roster guys/gals but instead letting their contracts run out. Realistically Ted should have been fired a year ago.
He's still young so if he decides to keep wrestling, he should go to Japan and hone his skills. If TNA can afford him, they should at least try to make a play. He's a major name (because of his father) but a fresh talent (since he's rarely been on TV). And he can wrestle.
I know he had a son last year so it must suck for him not being there for him. Road life can suck sometimes. A TNA/Japan schedule might be better for him where he can still be home most of the time and then in a few years, in his mid-30's after his son starts school or something he can try out for WWE again and they might be able to use him in a mid-card spot.
Legacy really ended any chance of DiBiase being a success for me. While Cody went out of his way to stand out...DiBiase went out of his way to try and just be a copy of Orton. He lost any identity he had and after they split it was difficult to see where they would go with him from there.
Hopefully he can find a proper personality for himself on the Indies.

I can't blame him for wanting to leave... it was pretty clear that the WWE had no idea what to do with him.

I guess he can always hit the convention circuit with Virgil.
I hope he goes to Japan.
"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."
"Oh my god, its The Million Dollar Man's Son in the iMPACT Zone right now!!! I can't believe it!!"
TNA will be his next destination, if he wants to stay in Wrestling of course.

I always thought DiBiase Jr. had some talent, but they certainly weren't using him very well...or at all. He definitely needed some way to stand out, but he never found it. Oh well. There are a lot of promising stars working their way up right now, so it's not much of a big deal.
Best In The World
While he wasn't as good a Cody(not even close), I was still a fan. It sucks that the WWE never knew how to use him. I hope he find success in Japan or on the Indies.
Meh? I've never been able to figure out the appeal of him beyond him being okay in the ring and being the son of a WWE hall of famer.
Unless there's something i'm just not getting he needs to seriously rework his character and improve his mic skills before he even gets considered for a push.
Support the real Mr. Ass.
He could've easily been in the spot Curtis Axel is in right now. Early thirties, Father was a wrestler, lacks charisma, boring on the mic ..
He'll be teaching high school wrestling soon.
I forgot all about him. I don't even think I've seen him since maybe 2010 or 2011. Funny how Cody ended up being the success story from Legacy when everyone thought it would be Dibiase. Can't say I'll miss him but hey not everyone can be a wrestling superstar.

I hope he finds work in Japan or ROH but I can't say i'll miss not seeing him on my TV. Sounds like a mutually beneficial decision for him and WWE though.
