Did Kurt Angle not win it all in his first year? Might have been just over a year but it was quick enough.

Gail Kim won the Women's title on her first night.

Drew McIntyre won the Intercontinental title four months after his debut (although he was briefly on SmackDown as Drew Galloway in 07)

I looked this one up but RVD made his WWE debut in July 01 and won the Hardcore title at the Invasion PPV that same month.

I dare say a lot of debuting tag teams have won the titles fairly early in their careers? Duece and Domino maybe?

Leaving this strictly to WWE (not including the promotions WWE owns). Ivan Koloff won the WWE (WWWF) Title off of Bruno Sammartino on 1/18/71. That ended Bruno's 7 year + reign. Ivan Koloff at the time had been in the WWE for less than a year, debuting sometime in 1970.

Yokozuna debuted on the Halloween 1992 edition of WWF Superstars and won the WWF Title from Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 9.

Razor Ramon debuted in August 1992 and beat Rick Martel for the IC Title in October 1993.

Brock Lesnar won the KOTR tournament, became the youngest WWE champion in history at 25 by beating the Rock in the main event of SummerSlam, beat Undertaker in Hell in a Cell, won the Royal Rumble and won back the WWE title in the main event of Wrestlemania 19 all after debuting on screen the day after Wresltemania 18.

If anyone has ever had a better year than that I haven't heard of it, let alone a debut year.

I am a big MMA fan as well and I often wonder how amazing Brock would have been if he had either gone into MMA right out of college or if he had stuck with WWE instead of leaving in 2004. Easily would have been GOAT in either discipline if he would have spent more time in either during his prime athletic years.

Personally, I'd say Kurt Angle's "first" year was better...

    - Undefeated for several months
    - One loss to a debuting Tazz at Royal Rumble 2000
    - Wins European & Intercontinental Championships in the same month
    - "Loses" both those championships at WrestleMania without ever being pinned or made to submit
    - Wins the King Of The Ring Tournament
    - Beats The Rock at No Mercy to become WWE Champion
    - Defeats The Undertaker to retain the title at Survivor Series
    - Wins at Armageddon to retain his title in a six man Hell In A Cell match against Triple H, Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, & Rikishi.
    - Beats Triple H at Royal Rumble to retain the championship

I'd say Kurt has without a doubt one of the best first years of them all.

Also, didn't The Giant win the WCW Title off of Hogan in his first match?

Has anybody ever noticed that most guys who win a title in their first year with WWE, either leave or get jobbed out eventually? Drew Macintyre, Santino, Swagger, MVP, Brock are a few I've noticed.

I think Brock Lesnar had the best first year. He literally accomplished everything. Winning King of the Ring, the Royal Rumble, the WWE Championship twice, main eventing Wrestlemania, being booked as the biggest heel and then the biggest face. The man had no goals left by the time Wrestlemania 19 ended.

Also Umaga won the IC title in his first year.

Pretty on point here except Brock won the WWE title 3 times. Brock went straight to the top without messing with midcard anything and it worked pretty well. You believed, as most people still believe, that he could win the title any time he wanted. It's something I still like about him immensely. He's a constant threat and him winning the belt when he does will have nothing to do with luck.
