Default Heat on a Member of the Shield

According to reports by WrestlingNewsSource.com and WrestlingNewsWorld.com, Roman Reigns, one-half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions and one-third of The Shield, is apparently in hot water with WWE officials after a reported incident at a recent WWE live event.

During a match against Randy Orton, a move was wrongly timed on Orton’s behalf, which caused Reigns to botch his spot.

Reigns reportedly criticized Orton and his “sloppy work ethic” openly in front of the locker room after the match was over.

WWE officials took that as a sign of disrespect from Reigns, bad-mouthing a veteran like Orton in front of his peers.

There is no word yet of any repercussions that will come of this

And the Orton-hate begins in 3...2...1...

In Orton's defense, he was probably high at the time.

Silly thing for Reigns to do in public. Maybe that's why they were put on the pre-show last Sunday?

He should have pulled Orton aside, not done in in front of his peers. Hopefully this whole thing blows over.

I don't have a problem with Roman Reigns chewing Randy Orton out in the locker room but then that's mostly because if it was the other way around I have no doubt Orton would have done the same thing.

Hmmm...funny thing about the wacky world of wrestling is the double standards, because didn't Orton stand in the middle of the ring on national TV and repeatedly call Kofi stupid for botching a spot a few years ago.

Anyways hope they don't do anything stupid like book Reigns poorly because of this, because he's a future Main Eventer if he's booked right.

Reminds me when Orton kept screaming stupid to Kofi Kingston when he blew a spot a few years back effectively ending his push for the rest of his career. But yea Reigns hasn't even been there a year yet so it does look bad if he's mouthing off at someone like Orton who's been there for over a decade. It will all blow over soon though, it's not a big deal.

It's usually a no-no in any workplace environment. The best thing to do is to pull that colleague aside and talk it out, not in front of your peers.

Exactly, Randy repeatedly calling Kofi stupid in the ring in front of the fans has to be worse then Reigns calling Orton out backstage for fucking up.

Yea that was completely unprofessional on Randy's part and is much worse than what Reigns did.

I don't have any problem with this either.
This is the pot calling the kettle black.
If there is anyone juvenile and emotional backstage and in the ring, it is Randy Orton.
For him to go off because someone called him out is preposterous.

Looks like Reigns pulled an Orton on Orton. Orton did this to Kofi and Kennedy and nothing was done to him.

I hate that Reigns did it and he gets heat. I know it is because he is a "rookie", but it still isn't right.

Hopefully, this blows over rather quickly. Also, hope Rollins & Ambrose are not hurt by association.

Don't buy this. Roman grew up in the business. No way is he stupid enough to go after Orton in front of everybody. Hell, he wouldn't even say anything at all. You don't get a swoll chest with somebody much higher on the pecking order.

Orton also yelled at Ken Anderson (Mr. Kennedy) back when he accused Kennedy of almost ruining his neck in a botched back suplex during the RAW with super tag team main event, in front of everyone backstage.

I'm surprised anyone has the guts to yell at Orton. and in front of people too? I wouldn't be surprised if Orton didn't yell back just because of the shock of Reigns doing something so unexpected.

I like others just hope this blows over quickly. Reigns has all the tools to be a big name and i'd hate for this to ruin his potential.

There is some truth to the rumor. Go listen to the latest Bauer and Pollock podcast on MLW radio. Bauer is a former member of creative who still has plenty of ties to the company. This is where I first heard it

I don't know how true to confrontation is, but I did read from the main page that there is apparently heat on Rollins and Reigns for some unknown reason.

The way the business works doesn't change because people think it's NOT FAIR Disrespecting people higher up on the food chain has always been a bad move. Since everything in wrestling is based on the owner's opinion or the guy booking, they get to call what's fair and what isn't. I hope this blows over as Roman Reigns has a ton of potential and The Shield doesn't need him fucking up their run because he doesn't know when to shut his mouth. Really I'm more glad this doesn't have anything to do with Dean Ambrose though. I must admit when I first saw this reported I kind of hoped it would lead to Kassius Ohno being brought in to replace whoever it was. I doubt that would happen but I'd just like him in sooner than later. He might still make WWE 2K14!

"Wrestlingnewssource" and "Wrestlingnewsworld" sound kind hokey. I'm not going to scream "newz~!" from the rooftops (well, from my desk, actually), but I have my doubts. If this is true, it wasn't a prudent move by Reigns. Irrespective of who's right and who's wrong and what Reigns motivation might have been, to which we can only speculate, it's best not to disrupt the established hierarchy if you want to find your spot in the political quagmire known as WWE. That point aside, if Orton botched, he botched; what a crime, which surely nobody else has ever been guilty of. If this report is legit, Roman should have asked to speak with Randy alone (that includes not taking his duffle bag with him....) and asked him how they could better work together to avoid those hiccups down the road, if the botch bothered him that much.

    1) I've said since their debut that I believe Reigns is the star of the Shield

    2) Reigns needs to talk to Kofi and Ken (Kennedy) Anderson. Don't F#ck with Orton.

I don't think it has anything to do with backstage heat.

The thing is WWE HAD to cool off on their push. They can't really be a "top act" now that they have titles. I think WWE realized that they were pushing The Shield too hard to the point where they had no real contenders for their belts. The people who should be competing for the U.S. and/or tag titles aren't credible enough to wrestle the Shield. The only wrestlers who ARE credible enough to face them are above the U.S./Tag belts. WWE had to dial them back just so they could have competition.

Orton causing heat on someone... shocking.. I don't believe that Randy Orton, a good man that he is would ever cause heat on someone backstage.. I just don't believe this article and how that Randy Orton could ever cause heat on someone....

Probably not that smart of him to do it in front of everyone, it'll blow over though you would think.

Orton was in the wrong for mistiming a spot

Reigns was in the wrong for bad-mouthing in front of peers

They're both in the wrong, lets move along here.
