Three weeks ago...
It was the greatest night in John Cena's storied career.
He redeemed a failed year. He conquered the man who seemed unconquerable. And most importantly, he regained the WWE Championship for the first time in 18 months.
Cena promised the "Cenation" that 2013 would be different, and that their time was now. His victory at WrestleMania was the ultimate in delivering on that promise.
Unfortunately for WWE's unofficial leader, it may all come crashing down very soon.
It was announced over the weekend that Cena suffered some type of Achilles injury, obviously bad news for any athlete. To make matters potentially worse, he has decided to compete tonight against the Shield, and with a partner he cannot trust in Ryback. Just getting in the ring in and of itself is a huge risk, but these are some combustible elements that could result in Cena being put on the shelf for a long time.
Remember that the Shield are coming off a SmackDown where they may have put The Undertaker on the injured list. They would love to make it perhaps their best seven day stretch ever by doing the same to the WWE Champ(ion).
Will John be able to rise above once again? Or will his promise of a return to glory fall flat shortly after its climax?
Find out tonight, on the longest running weekly episodic television show in history, Monday Night Raw!
