Default Why does Sting wrestle with a t-shirt on?

    Seriously...

I understand he is getting older and isn't as jacked as he used to be, but wearing a t-shirt in a wrestling match???...untucked???....
    Please.
    Have some dignity.

Guys like 'Taker and Flair aged and still wrestled without a t-shirt on.

It just accenuates how old Sting really is.
They should start calling him Staang.

    Because he wants to.

And personally I would have preferred Ric Flair wrestling in a t-shirt as well, seriously no one needed to see his man boobs.

I also think it has to do with age. I mean he didn;t wear one one for year.

Also he follow God now and maybe it has somthing to do with his belife that a grown men his age shouldn't run around without a shirt just a thought don't know.

When you get to the point in your career that you have to wear a t-shirt to cover up you flabby tits, maybe you should think about permanent retirement.

Isn't Sting in TNA's HoF? He shouldn't be wrestling at all again.

It you use that point you got guys in WWE HOF that still does a match here and there.

True. They're just as guilty on occasion.

    Spoiler

But only Steamboat and Piper were ever on the same calibre as Sting in terms of HoFers coming back for a match.

And if you're talking about guys like Duggan and and Slaughter, they're basically HoF jobbers. When they have an occasional match, it's just so to generate cheap heat and put someone over. It's never a complete storyline.

If you're referring to Lawler, they never should have given him the storylines with Miz, Cole, or Punk either.

I sound like a hypocrite because I wouldn't mind Austin coming back for a match with Punk, but it should NEVER have a title involved and should only be done on a major show like WrestleMania or Bound for Glory. Even a SummerSlam or Slammiversary aren't good enough.

It's obvious that Sting wears a t-shirt because he's old and flabby. Man, you guys would have hated ECW. That new "Barbed Wire City" documentary could easily have been called "T-Shirt City."

All this talk about man boobs and not one mention of Big Daddy V? Shame on all of you. A shirtless Viscera is one of the more disturbing thing I've ever seen in wrestling.

Lawler's matches with The Miz and Cole are the only reason I watched Elimination Chamber 2011 and part of whatever Wrestlemania that was.

You prefer that crappy match over the SmackDown Chamber match for EC11? Now that was an awesome match that night.

im gonna say its a combination of him wanting to pimp his merch has much has possible while getting to cover up the old man boobs that he cant maintain off without being motivated enough unless its a major ppv to work off.

I didn't say I preferred Lawler's match with Miz (though it was a good one). I meant the only reason I watched that PPV was to see Lawler/Miz. I hadn't watched any wrestling for a while but I read/heard somewhere that Lawler was getting a title shot at the PPV so I had to see it.

I think Sting wears a t-shirt while he wrestles because he doesn't want to completely embarrass his opponents with his amazing physique... I mean, it's bad enough that most of these guys usually have to job to him... Why rub salt in the wound by making them look so inferior on multiple levels...?

whocares has it spot on - the Stinger's just being humble.

Seriously though, who gives a shit? As long as he pulls off passable matches I really don't care if he wears a t-shirt or not. If the t-shirt said something like "fuck America" or "TNA SUCKS" then I could understand asking questions... but really, what difference does it make if it's just a normal t-shirt?

Because the t-shirt doesn't fit his character, and hedidn't wear one in the past.
Some wrestlers can rock the t-shirt (like 75% of the old ECW roster), others can't.
Imagine if Undertaker showed up to WM this year wearing an Undertaker shirt that went to his knees. Would that be OK? Think about it.

We are left with two choices:
    1) TNA tells Sting that he can't wrestle again until he gets back in the gym, and looks good enough to shed the t-shirt.
    or
    2) Like I suggested, TNA rebrands Sting as Staang...a t-shirt wearing shell of his former self.

Undertaker and Sting are wildly different characters. I can't imagine 'Taker wearing facepaint and yelling "WOOOOO!" either.

I don't see how wearing a t-shirt is in any way an affront to Sting's character. What values does a t-shirt have that clash with Sting's character? Do t-shirts represent something I'm unaware of?

For the same reason other over the hill wrestlers wrestle in t-shirts. He's old out of shape and should retire.

Wipe him down with gasoline, till his arms are hard and mean.

Never have I seen a least intimidating scene than when Aces & 8s were surrounding the ring to attack Hogan then the lights close and are on again and Sting appearing with a t-shirt on and his current purple pants look.

Long gone are the days when he looked like a badass avenger of the night taking on the nWo.

Sting with his t-shirt on reflects a 100% what TNA is and what they are about: half-assing everything.
