Default Sgt. Slaughter says he was going to be Swagger's Manager

Arda Ocal (@arda_ocal) of the Baltimore Sun and Layfield Report (@layfieldreport) spoke with WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter. Highlights include…

    * Originally being cast in the new GI Joe films in the position that Bruce Willis eventually took and why it didn't work out.

    * Before Jack Swagger took on a villainous character, Sarge reveals that he was going to be Swagger's manager as a hero and explains the scenario.

    * Calling out to Alberto Del Rio and saying he can help on WWE TV. Sarge reveals he always has his gear packed and would be ready for an on camera role.

    * His position as a WWE Ambassador.

I think this would have been actually pretty awesome if Swags was a face....but Zeb has been awesome as a manager so its worked out nicely.

I would have been all over face Swagger with Slaughter as his manager, why did we had to end up with utterly shit, low brow bullshit instead?

Lack of heels at the moment...........that and they don't trust Cesaro moving forward I assume the way he's been pushed. Same with Rhodes/Sandow.

They don't trust three people who are more talented than Swagger, but they trust Swagger. Go figure.

Henry wanted to comeback as a face but he had to be heel because they don't have worthwhile heels........or well at least they refuse to push some.

More talent is arguable. Swagger is one of the best wrestlers in WWE.

I don't know about one of the best but since the Elimination Chamber, Swags has put on some very good matches IMO.

He's a good worker, but he is absolutely awful on the microphone and that's the skill you need most to succeed in this company.

Hence why they needed to bring in a manager for him.

I love Dutch, but even if they went with him as a heel, in a different gimmick, Swagger and Slaughter could have been hilarious.

I love Swagger and Zeb. Keep preaching the truth for We, the people! But I really liked what Slaughter said at the very end of that interview. He told ADR that he had a lot to offer him. I know ADR already has Ricardo but what about the Sarge becoming ADR's trainer? That would be a little unexpected and could make things very interesting. I'd love to see how that would play out.

I have never liked Slaughter, but then again I hated this whole Zeb/Swagger angle too.

I havent seen the new GI Joe movie but if it had Sgt. Slaughter in the role Willis was in that I saw from the trailer I would have been all over that movie.

Coulter isn't the problem with the angle, from everything i've heard as a result of people on here talking about it (I refuse to subject myself to a single second of Zeb and Jack unless Ziggler is involved) Dutch has done quite well with the appaling content he's had to spew forth.

Swagger has one part of the package you need to be a big name in this business and he's even surpassed in that regard by names that are already big. The parts of the package he's lacking are really really lacking.
