    Default New X-Division concept

I was just wondering what others thought about the new X-Division concept they began last night on Impact with all title defenses being triple threat matches and the person who gets pinned is out of the hunt (for how long who knows but I would figure until at least the current champ is champ) and the other person remains in the hunt. With their smaller group of wrestlers now it should mean that we see a bunch of new guys coming in and maybe some of them staying around for awhile. I am hoping that when Christian York gets into a match the 3rd opponent gets pinned for a few matches and then he eventually gets the belt. What are your thoughts on this.

Meh. I'd have to see it in action for a while to have an opinion on it. Sounds like a good way to bring in some new people (HINT HINT, TNA)

Why does TNA always have to complicate things? The X Division Title didn't need to be gimmicked to hell and back like this. Besides, TNA doesn't exactly have enough Xies to just ban them from title shots.

    More info on it...

TNA has announced new rules for their X-Division which will see all
title matches held under triple threat rules. The wrestler who is pinned
in the X-Division title match will be eliminated from a future title match
while the other person who is not involved in the decision will get to
wrestle whoever is the champion in the following title match. Contenders
will also be decided in a triple threat match with former champions or
recently eliminated contenders all in a chance to advance to the next
title match. The division now also has a weight limit of 230lbs.

These news rules are pretty much designed to give TNA a built-in excuse for lazy booking in the X-Division. They're pretty much giving up on the Division without making it look like they're giving up on it. It's the Filler-Division! Woo!

Just like other concepts, TNA will forget about it in a couple months.

I agreed with BestInthe205 I got to see it for awhile.
It may work I'am just not sure about the guy not getting pined staying in because even if you didn't get pined you still didn't win and should have to get back in line.

Yeah but you didnt technically lose either...I like the idea of giving the person who didnt get pinend another chance...could lead to some good things especially if one guys stays around for awhile.

Atleast its a fairly unique concept. I like it. What I miss in wrestling is a sense of purpose in the matches. The majority of the matches in WWE/TNA it really does not matter who wins or loses. I think this gives them a chance to create some storyline and feuds in a different way. I wish we could get some more unique rules titles. Something like 3 man tag title belts and other variation rules belts. Just give them a year because we all know the belts would eventually be treated like trash then disbanded. Only do one at a time so it stays fresh. One year 3 man tag titles, next cruiserweight title, next year, a no dq title, so on and so forth. You could get a ton of mileage out of storylines from wrestlers trying to be the first and the last owner of the title.

But what about Ultimate X matches and ladder matches? Sure you can have still have three guys but who gets eliminated? No one gets pinned.

They all get eliminated... and are replaced by masked chimps... It's the only way.

They did? Backwards to the future! So, how badly did it not work?
