The Undertaker returned to the ring at tonight's WWE live event in Waco, Texas. The following photos come from #WWEWaco on Twitter. It looks like Taker teamed with Sheamus to defeat Damien Sandow and Wade Barrett. Stay tuned later for more details.

I was on the "he'll be back side' for awhile now. I just wished his first appearance was on the next RAW as it would have been a bigger surprise. It is odd for home to start on a house show.

Cena/Taker will happen, at Wrestlemania 30.

At this stage, I'm still unsure whether it's wise for Taker to come back given the reports of how out of shape he's been.

Pete, I don't buy those reports. The guy's had an incredible amount of time to heal up and train. He might not be in the best of shape due to his age and collection of injuries, but he's not as bad-off as reports indicate. No way.

It could work with the story.

But that doesn't exactly carry the same dramatic flair of Cena overcoming Punk and Rock, the two men he has to prove to himself he can beat. It's not ideal storytelling, and it becomes downright awful storytelling when you realize that it means WWE has to run with another Punk-Rock rematch, wherein Rock either retains (horrible idea) or Punk regains the title and we're back to square one.

More importantly, I don't think WWE would want to rush Cena-Taker in this fashion, or have it be an "aw, why the fuck not?" match. They're going to spend months, or even the entirety of the next year, building to this match. Just like they did with Rock-Cena, Shawn-Taker, and Hunter-Taker. This match is too big to just "throw together" a month before 'Mania.

I have grown comfortable with Cena vs. Taker at WM 30 too, especially if it is Taker's last match.

Judging from those leaked photos DC, I don't think they're far off. I mean, Meltzer himself was surprised at how much BETTER he looked in the past, when if anything it's the worst shape he's ever been in. If the reports are to be believed, he's basically spent the last year recuperating from multiple major surgeries. To be expected to have a MotY candidate with a guy like Punk or Cena is a bit much.

I have been saying that I didn't believe it would be a triple threat for the WWE championship (that somehow Punk would NOT be in that match). I think this is the beginning of that somehow shaping up to lead us to Punk/Taker. The Punk/Cena match upcoming on RAW was meant to throw us off. But of all places for Taker to return, at a freaking house show. When was the last house show he was at?

Glad to see the old man back.I know he's nearing the end of his career and all and he's a legend but the coming back just for Wrestlemania is getting really old.This will be his third year in a row were he just works a program leading up to Wrestlemania were he'll wrestle one match and then go away again until next February or so.If other special attarctions like Brock,Rock and Triple H can work more then one match a year so should Taker.


Again really glad that he's back and he's one of my all time favorites but the hole just working Mania is getting really old.
