So folks, who do you think the best seller in wrestling is? OVer the tope like Rock, Ziggler and Roode? Or do you prefer so legit you don't know if he's selling or not like Punk and Bryan?

I NEVER liked The Rock's selling of the stunner, unlike my brother who absolutely loves it; is just too unrealistic for my taste. that being said I do enjoy Dolph's selling more than anyone else, despite the fact he can be over the top at times he is almost always very very good. His selling of the spear during his feud with Edge was a real highlight for me.
I'm a Ziggler fan, and THAT might be the stupidest selling I've ever seen.
I think that gif is hilarious and I wish we had more moments of hilarity like that.

You know I already have a thread on this on the history section.

I like ridiculously over-the-top selling, such as the gif in the OP or HBK vs Hogan selling. If it makes me laugh, it's good. I also like realistic, down-to-earth selling. What I don't like is the middle ground: exaggerated selling that isn't exaggerated enough to be amusing. That kinda thing usually looks corny and stupid to me. RVD's selling of the DDT is a good example. Or most of Ziggler's selling. It may look kinda cool and may get a pop, but in the end it's pretty stupid.
Many thanks to Stefan for the banner!
Has to be John Cena. Dead fish and angry bear are my favourite kinds of selling.
Selling like that usually happens after the show, Jericho did a ridiculously over the top sell of the Stunner of the air as well. The Triple H and The Rock gif's are from after the show.
"Did you hear the one about the man, who can't be destroyed?"
Rock always does some backwards cartwheel after a Stunner. And when he couldn't do that, he'd try to bounce off the mat after the first landing of the stunner.
I remember watching after footage of Austin coming back to stun Michaels, China, and Triple H more times than able to remember. He'd stun one, celebrate, stun another, celebrate, then if one moved, he'd stun them again. It got to the point of ridiculous on how many stunners these guys were taking.

The Rock's selling of stunners was always hilarious IMO. I never had a problem with it!![]()
All credit for this amazing signature goes to Justin Valuable! Thank you!
Funny selling is nice on occasion, but I appreciate realistic selling so much more. Whenever someone is able to create a suspension of disbelief, they have my respect.
Watch CM Punk sell his leg at the Royal Rumble this year. That's what the fuck I'm talking about.![]()
Punk did great at RR.
As for me, I'm gonna say Shawn Michaels is the greatest seller in wrestling history. He could be silly like vs Hulk Hogan, or he could be serious like when he fought Triple H at Taboo Tuesday in 04. His selling in that match was fantastic.

The first thing I thought of when you mentioned HBK was his feud with Jericho. How well Michaels sold his eye injury beginning with their match at The Great American Bash in '08 (then at Unforgiven) was pretty incredible. That, by the way, is my all-time favorite feud.
Rock is the #1 overseller to me and the main reason i hate him is his overselling. Stunners arent supposed to make you flip clear across the ring and damn near out of it. His selling makes the whole match look ridiculous as if he is making fun of the whole business.
If someone hates you for no reason, give that fucker a reason. Vote: http://forums.prowrestling.com/showthread.php?t=118185

Rock's one of my all-time favorite sellers. I think he does a great job of selling the action. For a recent example, when Punk gave him the GTS at the end of Raw 1,000, that looked awesome. And historically, his selling of the Stunner has always been fantastic to me. I love it.
I do appreciate guys like Punk, DB, Benoit (back in the day), and others that are so good at selling, that I actually think they may be hurt.
'Taker deserves a shout too. Once gimmick-wise he was able to sell more, he was damn good at it.

The selling after the cameras are off is hilarious. I went to Raw once where HBK gave the Sweet Chin Music to HHH. Instead of falling, the move stopped HHH in his tracks, and he sort of teetered back and forth while completely stunned, for literally 3 minutes. I hate HHH with every fiber of my being, but I've never laughed so hard at a live show.
I have no idea how that .gif in the OP could be considered good selling. Funny, maybe, but not good.
A good example of Rock selling would be the Shield beatdown from a few weeks ago.
My personal favorite instance of selling, though, was the Undertaker at Mania 27. I was actually scared shitless because I actually thought he couldn't get up.
All we have is right now....
Go hard or go home.
Spoiler
As far as sports-entertainment goes, Dwayne is more than likely the Guy of Selling.
I will admit Dwayne's healing factor (flapping his arms and practically resusitating himself back to life) gets a chuckle out of me on occasion. I'm sure Cena jacked his 'beyond-pain' dead fish look from him.

The Rock's selling pretty much matches his persona. I mean, he's an over-the-top cartoon character. And I love him for it.
