The 52 annual episodes of IMPACT WRESTLING on SpikeTV will lead to four, live epic Pay-Per-View events commencing with “Genesis” on January 13th, “Lockdown” on March 10th, “Slammiversary” on June 9 and “Bound For Glory” on October 13th.

In addition, seven Pay-Per-View specials that will be branded as “TNA Wrestling: One Night Only,” series will debut in April 2013 and continue throughout the year during the additional months. The 3-hour taped Pay-Per-View specials will premiere on the first Friday of each month. The first two “One Night Only” specials will be “Joker’s Wild Tag Team Tournament” and “X-travaganza” which will feature the X-Division.

“The Pay-Per-View industry has changed so much in the last decade,” says TNA President Dixie Carter. “The traditional pay-per-view wrestling model needed to evolve and we believe this strategy will positively impact not only the Pay-Per-View events but the weekly television programming as well.”

The company will continue to produce TNA Wrestling’s “Unfinished Business”, which are one-hour programs available on a Video on Demand (VOD) basis. The monthly titles continue to focus on the history of a rivalry or a specific past PPV event. These titles are available for two months at a time.

That IS a pretty serious upheaval. Not sure how smart it is to have pPVs on Fridays, though.

I think they're making a mistake to be perfectly honest.

I thought they were just reducing to 10 PPV's a year and two taped specials.

I remember hearing that this would lead to more content for Spike TV. What happened with that?

I think this is brilliant. TNA's non-big ppvs are terribly built anyway and the four they're keeping are the only four they put any effort into. I think this will work out well for them to be honest.

I know they wanted to cut back on PPV's but I figured it would be something like bi-monthly PPV's (so six in all) with maybe Victory Road and Destination X being the other two being kept.

Damn. I actually like it. Gives time to build feuds, rather than last minute card editions and filler. Good job TNA!
What's up PW users? Check out my band, if you like!

Yes, I agree TNA storylines has been good of late. I'm not completely sold on the Friday nights. But, I can understand why. At some point you have to go and catch WWE.

The newly announced TNA Friday night PPVs will be priced at $14.95.
TNA Genesis and TNA Lockdown will still be priced at $34.95.

TNA Slammiversary and all live PPVs that follow will now be priced at $39.95.

TNA Bound for Glory will be the exception to that rule, since it always had a higher price point, and will now be priced at $44.95.

The TNA Unfinished Business PPV pricing will remain the same.

All looks good to me. But, I think the Lockdown PPV should be $39.95. I wouldn't be upset if they lowered the Friday Night PPV.

Who is going to pay $15 to watch a show that's not live when they can watch SmackDown for free?

Well for starters I'd pay $15 dollars to watch an X-Division themed show over Smackdown.

Friday is a pretty bad day to have a PPV no matter how cheap it is.

7 of the 1 night only shows seems excessive given the fact they haven't even seen the ratings impact one of those type of shows will bear out. Let alone 6 more.

Also, calling a PPV One Night Only when there are 7 of them, is pretty retarded.

Hmmm, I really like the idea of less PPVs, and always loved the longer build up when WWE had their big 5...wonder what this is going to do with the X-Champion now not being able to cash in the belt for a shot at the World Title at D-X anymore.

Furthermore...I'm not sure how this is going to effect our forum championship with only 4 PPVs.

I think that is a smart decision to have lesser ppvs. Back in the old days the WWE do not have 12 months the pay per views, usually have four pay per views(this was before they start the King Of The Ring.) of the year. This move will or should help provide better show(hopefully.), better way to develop a storyline, and the feuds.
