    Default The best of Ryback

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a fan. While I agree with most, CM Punk and The Rock were outstanding on Raw. I feel Rybacks work has gone un-noticed. I feel that was best we've since from him. And I believe the best is yet to come. For me he answered a lot of questions monday. "He can't work a long quality match"- I think he just proved he can, "He can't talk"- yes he can, "He can't sell a move"- wrong again, "He can't tell a story"- Well now, really? Am I the only one who was impressed by Ryback?

While I'm not a fan, I will say I was quite impressed with his improvement on Monday's Raw. He's definitely over, he shows sparks of potential in the ring.. He could be WWE's next big thing, you never know.

God, I thought this was a DVD they were coming out with. I was going to say, this could be my first Ryback experience where I actually utter the words 'Feed me More.' Think about it. How long would a "Best of Ryback" DVD be. An hour? Maybe? And that's assuming you include ALL of his matches as Skip Sheffield, too.

I really don't like Ryback. He's nothing, but a couple of power moves and lame catch phrases. "Feed me more" is cheesy and its even worse when his promos are composed of food puns.

Top spots aren't taken by people with the charisma and good looks of a turnip.

Good thing it's going to Ryback, then, and not whoever you're talking about.

Why is the IWC warming up to Ryback? He's just a McMahon Frankenstein who'll bury the smark Favorites. Doesn't anyone notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Yes. Ziggler fell all the way from his midcard spot to a main event fued with John Cena. All because of one match on Superstars that 5,000 people saw.

And somehow he managed to bury a guy that he never beat, who is now in the hottest fued of his career.

And he buried a jobber that asked for his release, by his own words, may have partially been caused by John Cena. Okay.

    Well, you struck out there.

Except he's been involved in two great matches so far and a ton of really fun squash matches, is over, and has the fire and passion to succeed.

Let me just say this about Ryback... The man's intensity is just so freakin' infectious. Sure, all his catchphrases are full of cheese... But there's just something about watching him rape people in the ring that gets me so pumped up that it negates all the cheese. Seriously, I just wanna put the nearest person in a Headlock when I see him toss fuckers around like they were nothing.

What whocares said. Its actually gotten to the point where when I am working out with weights now I find myself chanting feed me more and doing Rybacks arm taunt

I agree with this sentiment. I just don't believe this type of character can survive in the long term. Ultimately, I believe he will fizzle out much like Goldberg did in WCW. The "indestructible monster" is a short term storyline best used by the old regional companies when they would bring in a Kamala or a Bam Bam Bigelow and build them up with squash matches on TV. They would make them look like a genuine threat to the company face who would usually get beaten down on TV by monster heel only to rebound with a big win. The amount of money brought in would usually determine if that heel would get a second program with anyone but the bookers knew that once the monster lost and showed he old be beaten he wasn't nearly the draw he was the irst time around. Once Ryback loses legit( which has to happen as you can't protect him forever) I believe his drawing power will fizzle rapidly.

I've said this many times, I like the potential that the wrestler has. As far as the character itself "Ryback", I hate him. He's not larger than life, and hes not down to earth. I can't relate to him in any way at all, or admire him. He thinks he's supposed to be feuding for the title, when he has three psychopaths attacking him every minute. He's a brain dead brute. Until they evolve his character into more, I'll never really appreciate him.

I've noticed something very interesting regarding Ryback.

There will be matches where the crowd will be all herpy and derpy, starting off with "GOLDBERG!" chants, because they're oh-so-fucking clever.

But by the end of the match, those same fans are the ones chanting "Feed me more!". It's really fascinating to watch. Whatever Ryback is doing, it's working.
