Question ted dibiase leaving for hollywood

    credit wrestling observer newsletter

Ted DiBiase has put out feelers for acting gigs but reportedly is not interested in moving to Los Angeles. DiBiase is one of the names who have been talking about leaving WWE. Word going around was that he was staying with WWE until the end of the year and then would make a decision about his future.

No, I hope this isn't true... I still want Dibiase Jr. and Perfect Jr. to hold the tag team titles dammit.

Teddy's a perfect example of why WWE prefers to rename many second/third gen guys. He had so much potential, unfortunately WWE tried making him into his father with the MDB, and then I have no idea with this DiBiase Party stuff that I just don't understand.

I think some of us are so wrapped into our own fandom to understand that the life of a wrestler probably sucks especially if your not at the top making the most money.

It would get old fast...getting beat up and never ever being home.

I cant blame a guy for wanting a change...sure travling the worldwould be great but doing it non stop all year long for mid card money just isn't worth it in real life.

Don't worry he'll return in 2 years to team with Cody one last time at wrestlemania and then again 7 years later to prove he really was the greatest of all time

But honestly I couldn't blame him, they've dropped the ball with Ted so much they didn't even bother throwing it his way when he returned, hell they barely mentioned he returned and it's a shame too, I felt he was picking up some steam before the injury and all they had to do was have him face Cesaro at NOC, mention he's returned and maybe have a small feud, it gets Ted back on the map and Cesaro (and ourselves) wouldn't have had to wait 3 months to get a us title fued

Ted had potential when he came in, but then they stuck him with Orton and he seemed to decide that the best way to try and get himself over was to copy Orton's mannerisms while Cody also looked to have his own personality. From then Ted just faded into the background while it was clear Cody was going to be the breakout star of the group.

Ted started gaining momentum with the Dibiase Posse he then got injured and I haven't seen or heard from him since. Hopefully, WWE gives this guy a shot before he decides to leave.

It's probably for the best. At one point 4 years ago he could have been a breakout star but he ended up having no personality whatsoever and he went from the next big thing to being lower than JTG and Trent Baretta on the roster.

See that's what I was talking about, if they gave him a decent return he'd be able to pick up where he left off but he returned on the NOC pre-show and it was barely mentioned, then he had one match on smackdown and I haven't seen him since, though he may be on superstars I don't know.
Thing is they're doing nothing with him and hardly anyone even knows he's back, why wouldn't he leave?

So he wants acting gigs? Charisma isn't exactly his forte along with working the camera, but good luck to him if he leaves.

He is only 27 and has plenty of time to be a big star in the WWE. He is just getting a slow push unlike most wrestlers in the WWE.

Not ever big time wrestler made it big in their 1st few years. I mean, it took HBK & Bret Hart 8 years to win their 1st WWF Title.

It's funny, I was actually thinking about this dude this morning.

He's a victim of being a Jr, and being pushed as one. He had a lot to live up to with the DiBiase name, and to me, that's not fair. That's why I'm not longer pissed about Henning's kid.

But with Shawn he was something special even in the tag ranks. DiBiase looked like a star in Legacy but unlike Michaels when the Rockers broke up, he wasn't treated like one.

I don't mind the acting move. I don't think he was bad in the marine 2.

Well yeah, because DiBiase and Perfect were mega stars in WWE and everyone wanted Ted and Joe to be DiBiase Jr. and Perfect Jr to the T rather than someone different. Hennig and DiBiase were not always Perfect and the Million Dollar Man. I know, shocker. However when it came to both Rhodes kids and Orton because were treated as something different, they got to be more. Goldust was Goldust for one & 1/2 year before WWE said that he was Dustin Rhodes and Cody was his own man since being the youngster that kept ticking against Hardcore Holly. I feel the ones who were bit characters in WWE have been treated better than the stars, partly because most WWE fans only remember Dusty for the polka dots and Orton for the cast.

the guy just seemed not to have "it".

Best of luck to him in Hollywood, perhaps there he can get out of his fathers shadow.

Always like Ted's look. He just didn't seem to have that something special you need to really get over and connect with the audience. Whether that is his fault, the writers, or the shadow he was in from his dad I don't know. I wish him all the best though if he does leave WWE for Hollywood.

It would be a shame to see him go because I like him.

I'd like to see him stick around, and hopefully they can find something for him to do. If not, then best of luck to him in Hollywood.
