Orton Injury

So, sounds like the injury bug has hit Randy AGAIN. During his match at the TTTT tapings, he was working with Ziggler. During the match, the ref came out and gave the "X" signal, the trainer came out and checked it out. No word yet on how bad it is, but I'm worried this could mean the end for the Viper's WWE career. What do you guys think?

I doubt his career might end, but it could put him on the shelf for a few months if bad. Hopefully not since it's WrestleMania season. Mind you, Cesaro had a recent hand injury and is still working.

Very true. Just the fact that EVERY time he's been healthy for the last couple years, he seems to get hurt before they can give him any sort of push. And even when he is healthy, they don't seem to be doing anything with him. I guess I'd be more concerned if their roster wasn't so shallow. Kinda sucks to see his talent be wasted so much.

Highly doubt that it will be the end of his career - haven't seen anything about how serious the injury is but I'm certain if it was career-threatening the dirt-sheets would have something by now

If there's no word on how bad it is, it's a pretty ridiculous assumption from a physical standpoint. Orton is 32, younger than Punk, Cena, Sheamus, Del Rio, Big Show and Mysterio, and just one year older than Bryan and Ryback.

Maybe it's not the worse thing for him. Both Cena and Edge were injured only to come back and win the Rumble. Now Orton's injury is not as severe as Cena's or Edge's were but its still potentially significant in keeping him out for an extended time.

Just for the record, if a "contracted" WWE wrestler is injured in the course of a match or while working the WWE is responsible for all the medical expenses of said injury even if the wrestler is then released. The only exception to that would be if the injury can be proven to be a pre-existing condition from prior to their WWE contract.

And there is absolutely no way Orton will be released unless he hits his third strike. We all know, including WWE, what would happen if he was let go; 91 days after his contract expired he'd be winning the TNA title and cutting some sort of anti-WWE promo on Impact.

Such a ridiculous theory to be discussed. They've been discussing the thin main event scene for the past two months and Spear thinks they will release Randy Orton. There's a better chance of Tom Brady throwing 6 TDs left handed tonight.

If wrestlers got released while injured, I'm sure Evan Bourne and Ezekiel Jackson would be gone by now, but they're still on the roster.
