What "Fantasy Match" ever worked?

I've recently (MITB 2011) returned to being a wrestling fan, missing most of the John Cena era. I enjoy reading these forums but it seems A LOT like how people deal with fantasy football. Why do fans dwell on matches that either can not or more importantly should not happen? Hogan/Flair was the most talked about fantasy match, but when it finally happened it could never possibly live up to the hype.(I know they met before they were popular). So when I read people clamoring for Ausitn/Punk, Taker/Sting, Taker/Cena, I wonder if any "Fantasy Match" ever met expectations. Here's the rules: The wrestlers need to be formerly from different companies ( Hogan/Flair) or from different eras ( Austin/Punk). Any suggestions?

Would Jericho vs HBK classify under this? I know it took place a couple years after Jericho was already with Dubya Dubya E, but I think its on point with the topic of discussion.
