Default Would Rock defend the title in the Elmination chamber?

I think it's no secret that Rock is gonna win the title at RR but will he have to defend it in an Elmination chamber or will he just defend it against Punk in a rematch? I think it'll be Rock/Punk II myself, I don't see Rock defending against 5 other guys in an EC

Royal Rumble will probably have the winner challenging for the World Heavyweight title, having the Elimination Chamber match be a no. 1 contendership match for the WWE title. And Rock vs. Orton maybe? Or just a rematch clause.

Rumble winner will most likely be someone from SD winning or Ryback (hope not) then challenging the SD Champion. Rock won't defend at EC; it will be a #1 contenders match.

That would be rubbish. CM Punk has had to defend his belt on extreme short notice on Raw, but The Rock would get special treatment if he won.

No. Not a chance. Not a chance in Hell. Mr. Movie Star wouldn't want to worry about accidentally getting injured and missing his filming, would he?

I'll tell you why. Dwayne Johnson turned his back on the WWE Universe. He first stared in films as "The Rock", then he was billed as "Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson", then he was billed as plain old "Dwayne Johnson." He was ashamed of sports entertainment. He didn't even leave wrestling to make good movies. All he gave us was crap. You can still act and wrestle. John Cena has been in several films without missing a beat.
So then Dwayne returns and its cool of him to do that, but why did he act like he was ashamed of sports entertainment for so long?

Rock said that he was advised by his agent or something not to mention WWE as part of his past, hence that magazine cover that said "The Rock is dead" that turned a lot of people off. But he has a new agent now or something, and so he likes acknowledging WWE as part of his past.

I don't mind that he left wrestling for movies. You can't blame someone for being passionate about one thing, and then naturally becoming passionate about another career. If he didn't care about WWE or the fans at all, he wouldn't have come back period, because he already has bazillions of dollars in the bank and could easily make even more from what WWE would probably pay him.

As for the topic, I still have doubts Rock will win, but if he does, I doubt he'll even defend it at EC. He definitely won't compete in a chamber match, that's pretty much a guarantee.

Am I the only one that doesn't think Rock will win the title?

How often does the title change hands at the Rumble? Very rarely.

    And I love Rock, but......why?!

To get tongues wagging leading up to Wrestlemania. I don't think there's any significance to having the match at the Rumble other than that's where all the moons aligned. If it was up to the WWE, I'm sure he would have appeared on the show much sooner.

Although, I reckon you're right Miss. HHH. His match at the RR might just be a set-up for a potential match against Brock.

I have my doubts about The Rock winning the title at Royal Rumble. I'd personally like to see it since I'm going to the Rumble live and it'd be cool for remembering my youth.

Also, I think its pretty unfair to say he "abandoned" the WWE and the fans. The guy left a physically demanding career that breaks down your body for a job making more money that doesn't do any damage to his body. I don't think anyone can blame him. The fact that he has come back at all shows how passionate he is about WWE and especially pleasing his fans.

Definitely, I have nothing but respect for The Rock.

The problem people have is the WWE is so insatiable with their current roster and seemingly drop their panties when an old star appears even though a lot of their work isn't that good.

I've been thinking for a couple of months now that Rock is probably losing at the Rumble. As for the title changing hands at the Rumble, the whole PPV will be mainly centered around Rock returning to win the belt. It's obvious to me it'll be the last match on the card, too. Rock is even on the poster. So, it gives the PPV a lot of weight for a major title change to happen, although I have doubts about it happening.

I really hate the idea of the Rumble match not being last on the card. (For timing issues if anything)

Last time they did that, the Rumble went around an hour which only left a small amount of time for the two title matches that followed it. Cena/Edge got around 10 mins and Angle/Henry got 15 mins.

I think he will defend the title (if he wins it) at Elimination Chamber, but not in the Chamber match. For me it's going to be:

World Heavyweight Championship Match Elimination Chamber

WWE Championship Match- The Rock vs CM Punk

No.1 contendership Elimination Chamber for the WWE Title.

To be honest, I think we should all wait until the Rumble, see what happens, and then react appropriately, rather than bitch about an outcome that hasn't happened yet, and may not even happen due to his film schedule.

I know, 'wait and see' is a novel concept to some of you, but let's try it, just this once, huh?

I don't think it's likely to happen. We've already been trying to predict WrestleMania 30.

It's not that Rock left wrestling and made a successful career for himself. That's great. More power to him. If I had one job for years, and then found one that paid more for less physically demanding work, I'd do it. No questions asked. I'd even come back and visit once in a while.

But what I wouldn't do is try to ignore that I was there for years, and then when I finally do acknowledge it again, act like I still love that job and how much it means to me ... and then never stop by, never check in, never do anything to back up my words for years. Years. And then, go back and act like I'm going to work there full- or part-time again ... and then get a big payday after a few months and walk away.

It's just disingenuous. Dwayne comes off as talking out of both sides of his mouth most of the time, and the rest of the time he just comes off as another guy who's only there to put himself over, get his paycheck, and go back to his dayjob. And as a fan who, frankly, wasn't around during Rock's time and doesn't really care all that much ... it annoys me to see WWE bending over backwards to please a Hollywood actor who isn't there to give back to the business.

Anyway. If he doesn't win at Royal Rumble, that'll be great. If he doesn't appear at Royal Rumble, I'll be pissed because WWE has built an entire year of booking around that. But whatever.

If he wins the title at the Rumble, I'm all for him defending it inside the EC. That would be awesome to see, as it would be his first ever Elimination Chamber match. And if they went through with it, they better not cheat by hardly including him in the match (by leaving him in his pod until the end or something).
