Fave 6:
1 & 2- CM Punk & Dean Ambrose (Don't Know who I like more LOL)
3- The Miz
4- Damien Sandow
5- Daniel Bryan
6- Antonio Cesaro
That's odd. I've never seen that before.

Does this mean Punk will go 30 days without defending the title?![]()
I meant the actual press release posted like that with Vinny Mac's signature on it. They don't usually post that, just what was on it.
I don't doubt that Punk is injured, but I realise they have to find new ways to work the fans these days.

Yes, I've never seen a press release regarding something like this before.
Also, I want to point out: When Cena got injured after his year+ reign, he was stripped. Punk got injured after his year+ reign, and is being protected and keeping the belt.
So, people who claim Punk is secondary to Cena, find something to complain about regarding that fact. I fucking dare you.

Also Cena was looking to be out for 6 months to a year so slightly different, they couldn't keep it on him for all that time and get away with it![]()
Weirdo Willy. Where is that guy? Came back and made a couple of posts then vanished again. Him and his In Living Color era Jim Carey avatar.
Falcone, this is a completely different situation than Cena's injury. Cena was projected to be out between 7 and 12 months. CM Punk will be back in time for the Royal Rumble.
Besides, the idiotic booking of the WWE Championship at No Mercy 2007 is not something I ever want to see repeated. Triple H had three championship matches in one night and was given a completely unnecessary run with the WWE Championship.
Was Punk injured by Ryback or was this a nagging injury that could no longer go untreated?
I only ask because I didn't wish to wade through that other thread. It hurts my head.

I think it was scheduled in advance and they just took advantage of the opportunity on Monday. I haven't watched my recording yet, but I heard people mentioning that Punk was noticeably in pain on Raw during the Miz segment.
This is what you call Karma, maybe next time he'll think twice before being a dick towards The Miz.

Punk is 'ready to go' according to the doctor.
No, he stopped doing it to protect his knees. I don't think he stopped using it because there was something wrong with his knees.
I was wondering this as well. I watched the segment a few times on my DVR and I get the gut feeling that this was more of a long-term thing that needed to be done anyway. Taking advantage of the segment to do it certainly works, but I honestly didn't see a spot in the encounter with Ryback where all this damage was done to his knee. Maybe I'm just missing something, but thats my opinion.
You know, I distinctly recall a time during the shoot interview he did with Samoa Joe. Punk's knee locked up on him right in the middle of the interview.
Punk's knee locking up on him really isn't a new thing.

Not that I dont believe that CM Punk is actually injured but it just seems so much like they couldnt come up with an ending for the Ryback vs CM Punk so they pulled this stunt. I mean, what other way can they possibly make Ryback look strong and still have CM Punk retain for the third straight time?
If it was a fictious surgery they wouldn't be getting James Andrews involved. Man has a credible and professional reputation.
I still think the better option (if they knew his return date would be in time, if not then no worries) would be to make this match a TLC match with a contract for a WWE Championship match on the 1st Raw of 2013. Everyone would think Ryback would win, but have Shield take him out, Kane winds up caught up by them and Bryan sneaks in and grabs the contract.
Good way to get Shield staying strong, Ryback doesn't get a 3rd title loss, and 2013 starts with a high quality match.
