Should Vince McMahon hire Paul Heyman as a Head Writer?

I think that Paul Heyman can pull off some interesting storylines given the chance. I know that many people will say that if he was a genius writer ECW would still exist to this day, but I let's be honest ECW went bankrupt after having no sponsors. But with Stephanie and Vince as a filter, I think Paul Heyman can do some amazing stuff for the shows of the WWE. What do you guys think?

No, unless maybe for NXT. or side writer for Smackdown (if that means anything anymore). The only reason Heyman considered head writing for TNA was because he had an escape plan, with WWE there is not escape plan.

No. I don't think the next head writer should be a rehash of the past. WWE at this point needs to look to the future. The next head writer shouldn't be a name that I know.

Heyman has a grasp for the "next big thing" and I believe he has a better mind for the wrestling business than anybody in the company. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if Heyman had Bischoff's business mind, ECW would still be going today.


EDIT - Forgot to answer the question, yes I'd hire him if I was Vince. Not sure what the head writer does different from other writers so any spot would be fine.

You'd just be getting Punk/Cena/Ryback main events every week. Title matches every week. A 'shake-up' angle every week. Raw would be better, yes. PPV would become far more irrelevant and soon TV impact would be diluted because Paul's saturated the living shit out of everything.

Paul is creative. Or was creative, no idea if he still is. Picking his brains for ideas is a good thing. Having Paul book the show is not.

Paul on the booking team with Dusty or Hayes supervising him and making sure he isn't giving away amazing matches for free again, I can be down with.

Didn't Raven and Tommy Dreamer have have alot to do with the Creative Direction of ECW? I know Heyman took the reigns after Gilbert had his falling out, but it seems that I read somewhere that Heyman always acknowledged these two as geniuses when it came to creative and writing shows.

PPV's were pretty solid in ECW and when he was booking Smackdown. I think giving away some of the matches the Smackdown 6 had on TV was just to build the guys even more and help Smackdown's ratings, plus wasn't it part of the RAW vs. Smackdown angle? "We have the better wrestling" or something like that. I've read other guys on the site say he gave away PPV matches, but looking at the PPV's from his tenure as Smackdown writer I don't think the matches on Smackdown he was booking had more attraction.
