What's Going on With Rey Mysterio?

WWE.com is reporting, citing "illness," that Rey Mysterio will not be on the Egyptian tour that begins tomorrow in Cairo. Ted DiBiase was announced as his replacement. You can read the short announcement at http://www.wwe.com/worldwide/rey-mys...ement-26060675.

So, first the finals of the tag team tourney were moved and now Rey has been taken off the Egypt tour. WWE are reporting it as an illness, but chances are there could be more to it than that. The obvious one being a Wellness Policy failure. I hope it's not because I like Rey and enjoy watching him wrestle but he does have the history for it.

Thoughts?

BTW, Ted DiBiase as the replacement?! Those Egyptian fans got screwed.

I really hope, for Rey's own personal well-being, that he wakes up and calls it a day. The longer he goes on like this the sadder it gets. I hope he's alright.

Well, you never know, and it would be a real shame because he was about to become relevant again. He may indeed be ill though.

PWInsider reported that it was the stomach flu.

Rey Mysterio missed this weekend's shots and this week's TV with a bad stomach virus and the flu. We are told he's been feeling under the weather for a few weeks and was working through it and finally succumbed to illness.

I'm glad it's something like that as opposed to anything kind of Wellness failure. So I apologise for jumping to that conclusion.

He seems to be struggling a lot the last few years though, so I'm kind of hoping he hangs up his boots soon.

I would be surprised if Rey even competes at Mania, he just can't seem to go more than a few months without hurt or sick. Maybe it's time to walk away altogether.

Agreed he is injury prone, but this is an isolated illness.
