Hopefully it wasn't a plant (and by the look on Vince's face I'd say it wasn't), that way the guy will hopefully be smart enough to sue CM Punk (since he hit a guy who wasn't even touching him therefore not self defense) instead of taking a bribe from the WWE IE accepting merchandise and possible free tickets next time their around there. WWE champion or not in one of the videos posted you can see that CM Punk clearly saw who touched him.

No matter what the case, it certainly doesn't help that you can see both of the guys hands in the video not doing anything.

Now, that being said, we have a second where we see this guy before he punched him. No idea what happened before that. Not condoning it or anything, but I always like to hear the wrestler's side when something like this happens. He could've said something horribly offensive, or maybe threatened him.

I was at the Raw in Sacramento and what you could see on the titantron was an idiot fan try to push CM Punk down the stairs. You could see CM Punk tell the fan to knock it off, but the fan continued to pop CM Punk as hard as he could in the back of the neck. That's why Punk retaliated.

IF Punk was not violently instigated, here is my opinion:

Punk needs to get the freaking chip off his shoulder and quit being such a douche. One fan pats him on the shoulder and as a result he smacks another fan twice.

And I know the IWC's default action in such a situation is to defend their favorite wrestler, but come on. Such behavior is completely uncalled for. Being an overly angry, reactionary douche is rarely justifiable, and certainly not in this case.

If that is true and why Punk hit him, then I can kind of see why he did it and it isn't nearly as bad as it seemed.
