Default Brian Gewirtz Removed as Raw Head Writer

According to WrestlingObserver.com, Vince McMahon was not in a good mood this afternoon before Raw. The fallout was that after working for WWE for over a decade, Brian Gewirtz was removed as the head writer. Gewirtz will remain under contract as a consultant

People backstage are said to be scared, and Vince told the producers today, "I want results or I want resignations."

He may actually be getting worried about low ratings...interesting. Firing your head writer might not be the best step, but its not like he's left him out in the cold, he still has a contract and he's still being paid. Thats not a horrible way for a boss to treat and employee. Still, I havent actually been hating Raw at the moment, and I dont think its the writers fault there not seeing the needle move in ratings. I'll be interested to see if there's a different in the programming from here on out.

That is the single most badass line I've ever heard, er, read. He needs to say it tonight on Raw to AJ and Booker.....

I'm excited. I hope that means all the writers are going to be pulling out their best shit to try and get the head writer's job. Unless they hire from outside, which will just put everyone on coast mode until the Royal Rumble. Which would be lame.

Competition maybe good, however I do think the company needs a bit of a philosphy shift.

This is good for business. It's good for us the fans for Vince to be in this mode. Cruise control shit has been detrimental so far. So let's sit back and enjoy. Triple H need to be checked too even though it's not going to happen

Vince is so dumb. He can't stand to not be in control, so he's gotta blame someone for last week's rating. So he picks Brian.

I am curious as to how the 3 hour RAWS are really working out in regards to ratings. 3 hours is along time to keep people interested at home. There is allot of competition with football, and the new fall tv line-up. Also we seem to keep seeing the same thing week after week. We need to see some changes, the first change is to revert back to 2 hours, and identify RAW and SmackDown as two separate brands again. I think this whole thing of combining brands on to one show has not worked very well. I liked it when there were 2 brands and occasional crossovers. WWE also needs to drop the whole PG13 thing and give the adult audiences a show for adults; we are the ones paying for the products WWE sells. We also know what drove us to like Professional Wrestling, and it was not watching a show that should be on PBS. Bugs Bunny had more violence than we see in WWE today. I also think the WWE needs to look for talent outside of the WWE; we need fresh talent from places like Ring of Honor, and other Indy promotions. WWE cannot create the next big thing in a Petrie Dish in Florida, the next big thing has to come from outside of the WWE. Vince also needs to relinquish more control of the product to HHH and Stephanie, they know what we want to see more than Vince does. I think a company that has one person dictating what the viewers will see 100 percent of the time is destined to fail or not perform very well. I like Vince and always have; however, I think he needs to look at what is best for the company in 10 to 20 years. HHH and Stephanie, and maybe Shane are the ones who have that vision, since they still have 20 years to lead the company. I also feel both rosters need to be beefed-up in order to create more storylines, focusing on one or two storylines each week does not help the product either. Just my thoughts.

This is why I like to see them struggling, it lights a fire up Vince's ass and at last we get some new ideas.

This is a move that should have been made 8 years ago. Gerwitz is a fucking hack and has only been around because he was a stooge for the most part. This can only be a good thing no matter how you look at it, Gerwitz should have been out the door with Lagana and Heyman. Take it back old school, let Vince and Patterson book the show and let everybody else just make sure they have a lot of coke for Vince and young ring boys for Pat.

Remove Dunn and the WWE can finally become relevant in 2012.

no, it's the guy who plays Khali's brother.

Senior Vice President of Creative Writing is open right now and I could see David Kapoor(Ranjin Singh) getting the job. He's the Head Writer of RAW.

I'm not sure who wrote the script for this weeks show and how much Gewirtz had to do with it, but whoever did needs to keep writing/overseeing it because last night's Raw was one of the best shows in recent memory. The only segments that I didn't like were Brodus and R-Truth (didn't make any sense) and Del Rio being interviewed by Josh Matthews backstage. Everything else was amazing.

    Gerwitz was removed on Friday.

Aaron Pankowski (spelling) who joined the company in February is the new head writer and the McMahons are really high on him at the moment.

    All Hail Pankowski!!!!!!

A wrestling world that doesn't have Russo, Heyman, Cornette, Sullivan, or Gerwitz in position of pwer far as booking goes anywhere. This is huge for the business rather people like it or not. Wrestling is actually in a real awkward spot right now and I love it. The King will still be The King and always make money, but the business as a whole is changing

What is wrong with Heymans booking? When he booked Smackdown it was on par with RAW.
