Mr. McMahon to return to Raw this Monday

Mr. McMahon will be coming to Monday's Raw to deliver a State of WWE Address. What will The Chairman have to say? Tune in Monday at 8/7 CT on USA Network.

So, as expected, they're in a panic because of the low ratings and are bringing back a big name to try and solve it.

For reference, Raw this week will be going up against a New York Yankee playoff game as well as Monday Night Football.

So, basically, they'll get trounced in the ratings again?

Surely WWE will expect numbers like this going against a sport that is far and away more popular? Obviously doesn't mean they have to accept it but I don't think it should be 'panic stations' because a majorly-popular sport is beating them heavily when they run against it.

They're getting the lowest non-holiday ratings in 15 years, that's an unusual problem.

And no, I don't expect it to be any better. I know I'll be opting for the Yanks.

Biggest factor in this ratings slump is moving to three hours. I'd wager that business elsewhere stays the same. If they want to drag the show out over three hours, they should have expected that the ratings wouldn't be pretty.

I personally would have been much happier if they kept it at two hours and aired a 1 hour best of RAW show

And sadly, the ratings will probably increase with a Vince appearance.

They will have a bigger starting audience, but once the filler commences I would guess upwards of 500k would tune out. Spread over three hours, each segment has less weight. I wouldn't expect the rating to increase much at all especially if it's an important sports night in America.

I would expect the Yankee game to take quite a few viewers away from Raw. Especially in the New York market obviously, but they have fans all across the country. And then if they're playing the Rangers (which will be determined tonight), then you also get the Dallas/Texas market.

I'm no expert on American sports, far from it, so I can't really comment, but it sounds like they need a bit of perspective with this. SummerSlam was a huge success. Okay, it had a mega-match. But I think the NoC buyrate is more pivotal to whether or not they are in a short-term slump.

I love the ego on Vince, "Raw ratings suck? Ok ok ill go on TV and boost them back up". I don't know the ratings but do they actually go up when Vince is on? I find it hard to believe especially when anytime hes been on in the last 10 years its been pretty much the same recycled segment. Who's getting fired this time...

Punk is one of the few good things about the show, but it wouldn't surprise me. The only good thing about 3 hours is we seem to be getting longer matches. Other than that, the rest sucks as usual.

He's coming there to address the WWE Championship situation and Punk's refusal to face Cena. This will either be the moment when he forces Punk to face Cena....or he demands he put his title on the line against Ryback.

It would make more sense if Vince makes Triple H AJ's new executive coach, since he actually was a "player" and thus can coach.
