    Default Ryback isn't ready

Im gonna change my opinion on Ryback. I still like him and think hes fucking sick but holy shit he is green. His match against Tensai was nothing short of atrocious. He couldnt even convincingly beat the shit out of a fat jobber for 3 minutes how the hell is he supposed to headline a WWE championship pay per view with a fast paced semi-high flyer like CM Punk. On 1 hand I dont wnat to see it bc it will be amateur hour at its finest and just make a mockery out of WWE PPV main events. Yet, on the other hand I do want to see it soo that the WWE writers learn their fucking lesson and stop shooting their load prematurely on new talent that is just getting over. Ryback has the potential of being the Next Big Thing. But if they throw him to the wolves this early his character will never recover. Let him slap around jobbers and maybe dominate the IC divison for maybe another half year to a year and take it from there. Thoughts?

He couldn't lift him up on his shoulders again (like he did on Smackdown), which is half on Tensai anyway. Otherwise, there was no problem with that match at all.

Not sure I see the logic in saying that someone can't headline a PPV because he had trouble lifting a 350 pound guy.

When youre booked as a machine and you cant lift a 350 pound guy then yeah thats a problem. This was on Tensai though, why did he block it????

I couldn't tell if they botched it or what, but if ryback can't do the whole stomping think he does on tensai, then he isn't ready.....wait did he do the stomping bit on smackdown?

Yeah the Smackdown match was a better match. He did it and it looked great. It almost looked like Tensai just didnt want to do it, and blocked it stubbornly.

Sorry. I know I may be in the minority but I'm not sold on Ryback. He lacks versatility IMO but maybe he'll prove me wrong in time.

I am not a fan at all. So, I agree that he isn't ready. He needs to still prove himself more in longer matches.

Agreed. I'm all for them building new stars, but for the most part all that what Ryback has done is squash jobbers. I don't think that someone should be thrown from squash matches right into a main event match. Who knows how good he'll be in a high-profiled match with Punk when he hasn't even had any non-squash PPV matches.

Not saying Ryback is going to fail, but I would have preferred him to have done more than just a feud with Jinder Mahal before having a feud with Punk.

Ryback has gotten better but I agree that he isnt ready. His match with the Miz was ok and his first match with Tensaid was ok too. Just a couple months ago he was throwing around 2 jobbers. I am enjoying his build but I hope they dont mess up, like they almost did tonight.

Curious to know whether or not it was more Tensai's fault. I'm not a big Ryback fan, but when he attempted the lift, something seemed off about Tensai.

Good thing it didn't happen in front of a smark crowd like Chicago though. They wouldn't have let Ryback hear the end of it.

They booed a little. I wonder if Tensai or Ryback had gotten hurt.

I do not like him, so I hope they don't make him a main event mainstay. I don't understand why they have a guy like Tensai that can be great in the ring and instead use Ryback, maybe if there was a more meaningful push from squashing Heath Slater ten times to facing CM Punk I would care but I don't.

Many thanks to the one and only Fresh Prince of PW.

I'd say it was more on Tensai, only because on SD the spot seemed to go off without a hitch and no report mentioned a re-tape of the spot like they do when there is a serious botch.

Maybe Tensai's just looking for a way out of the company. This being by intentionally sabotaging a rising star's (Ryback) match.

Squashing Heath a few times was not detrimental to Ryback's character or streak. He successfully feuded with Ginder. Ryback convincingly destroyed a former champion - the Miz. Annihilated Lord Tensai on Smackdown, successful with the Shell Shocked. (I'm up for a name change.) Raw, Tensai failed to assist Ryback in any manner. It was more on Tensai, and the lack of body communication between the two. Nonetheless, a fierce clothesline does not harm Ryback's character. It enhances, illustrating the power he is trying to convey.

Now Ryback is setting his sights on CM Punk. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THEY'RE BOOKING HIM IN A CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH YET. WWE is hinting a confrontation, and interaction. If anything, this is new.

Ryback is so 'green.' What are you, George R R Martin? Should WWE continuously book Ryback in squash matches for the next year? It'll give everyone more excuses to bitch. Ryback is over. Ryback is ready. What will make his character greater, more promising, is elaborately tying him in main event story arcs and matches. I'm not advocating a title match with Punk. I doubt that will actually happen. Cena may beat Punk at Hell in a Cell, and the Rock will likely be given a boring run with the Champion. And meanwhile WWE can continue working with Ryback, to eventually headline Wrestlemania's against the big names. It'll happen whether you like him or not. He's over. DONE.

When did I say he was green? I don't care that he is over that does not change the fact that I do not like him very much, and I would prefer if others like Tensai were in the position Ryback is in.

Lord Tensei kinda got screwed with him debuting at the time Brock Lesner came back.

And about Ryback, I'm not really sold on him yet. He might have potential, but until we see him in longer matches, we'll never know.

Its no big deal for Ryback. He just forgot to take his Viagra. He'll get it up next time.

The Shield lost to Kane, Daniel Bryan, and Randy Orton at a house show in Anchorage, Alaska on 17JAN13. Don't believe the lies of the WWE announce team!
