Is Kane really more interesting with a mask?

Kind of, Kind of, Kind of. I geeked when I heard he was coming back with the mask. Since then it's kinda meh to me, but I still like it better than the recent unmasked Kane. (First unmasked Kane, TOTALLY different story.)

I think it made his character look more badass/monsterlike again. Whether it made him "better" is up for debate.

People may think a mask is just a mask, but there is something different about Kane when he is in the mask. I swear I feel like the guy is better in the ring. Yeah, it wasn't smooth at first, but after he got away from Cena and the burial of Ryder, he's been having kick-ass matches and segments.

It's a nostalgia thing. There's no difference.

There were definitely times when he was entertaining without the mask.

No, he's more entertaining when he isn't used in the monster role. Kane is fantastic in comedy segments like the last few weeks. The mask is just there for nostalgia. The same goes for non-monster Big Show.

I don't think these anger management segments would have been as funny to me, if he was unmasked. There's something funny to me about a guy in a mask, acting like a monster, talking about his past and trying to hug it out.

IMO, Kane's whole character IS the mask.

It's what made him so damn cool in the beginning when he first appeared at Badd Blood 97 all the way till they screwed it all up and unmasked him in 2003.

Without the mask he's just another big guy wrestler with half decent wrestling ability.

But with the mask he's a true character.

To me it's the same difference as Undertaker "Deadman" and Undertaker "Biker".

Biker Taker was cool for what it was, so people may have even liked him better, but most people prefer the Deadman because of how cool that fantasy character is.

I feel the same way about Maksed Kane and Unmasked Kane.

I think Wrestling needs these far out fake fantasy characters to make things fun.

If I wanted real I'd just watch UFC or Boxing.

Masked Kane when booked correctly is an excellent character. Unfortunately that character hasn't been booked correctly in well over a decade and I doubt that will change any time soon.

Unmasked Kane is just a fat, ugly bald dude who's a bit of a psycho. Good booking or not I struggled to take Kane seriously unmasked.

Kane is more interesting with the mask on. He got so stale without the mask, even his look just seemed bland to me. It's not JUST the mask though, it's the suit that he wears with it. Looks more intimidating and more interesting

Not really, but it is a way, way better aesthetic look for him. Some angry bald guy just isn't as intimidating as masked and demented demon.
