Anyone think hes good for a couple more years? Any thoughts on this?
Anyone think hes good for a couple more years? Any thoughts on this?
The simple answer is yes he is done.
He isn't looking in the best shape anymore I think he is relaxed and happy with his life.
And who would he fight? Punk Bryan maybe but I think he has had his time and his time was great and I think it's time to move on.
If he doesn't come back to work a match by the night of Wrestlemania 30 then its safe to say his retirement was legit.
We won't know until he's dead.
Remember when I had the MOST(~!) posts on the site? I'm third now. And the next few down aren't too far below me. #Lastyearsmodel
I still think he will shock us with one more match down the road.
Please let at least one unforced retirement actually be legit. As much as Shawn vs Rock, Shawn vs Punk, Shawn vs Lesnar etc would be awesome, I really want him to keep his word
( ?_?) - 97% of PW suddenly think Michael Cole is awesome. If you're part of the 3% that still thinks he is an annoying tool, copy & paste this into your sig.
Currently Playing: Suikoden 1, Max Payne 1, Beyond Good and Evil, MGS Peace Walker
Actually shown vs rock would be pretty awesome! Excuse me lack of ignorance my mind has gone blank have they ever faced off before?
I was under the impression they don't really like eachother which is why the match never happened and probably never will

Wow, this again
Im the biggest HBK fan and would want nothing more than to have him back on a regular basis but Id also appreciate if he keeps his word which I think he will. Flair lost a lot of respect after what he did and I don't something similar to happen with Shawn.

If he can still go and wants to do it, I see no reason why he shouldnt. You only live once, No sense in being "retired" when you can still wrestle. Retire when your dead
Im pretty sure they haven't.
Dont quote me exactly cause Im too lazy to google....I was under the impression they don't really like eachother which is why the match never happened and probably never will
From what I remember, Shawn didnt believe in/said something derogatory/etc to the Rock when he first started. Rock took this personal. Later on, after Rock became huge someone asked him about 'dream matches' and mentioned HBK. I believe the Rock said something to the effect of HBK not being a big enough star to work with.
Its safe to say that Shawn Michaels has already been done for good. He wont wrestle another match. Done with the WWE? No, we've already seen him back a few times and he will always come back to TV.
From what I read HBK was a real asshole to Rocky when Rock first started, like he was to most people back then.
And by the time Rock was on HBK's level and even surpassed it HBK was out injured, and when HBK came back Rocky was pretty much done with full time work, in fact HBK's comeback match came at the same show as Rock's last match as a full timer at SummerSlam 02.
The most in ring interaction they've had was HBK hitting Rock with the Super Kick to save HHH's ass during the main event of the first ever Smackdown show.
I personally think HBK should stay gone...nothing left to prove at all.
And retiring after the Main Event of Wrestlemania against Taker is pretty damn good way to go out.
Yes he is.![]()

Many thanks to the one and only Fresh Prince of PW.

The problem with poor Americans is that “they don’t believe they’re poor, but rather temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”
I'm not a big fan of these 'retirement' angles. If a wrestler is going to retire, I'd prefer them not make an announcement about it at all. I'd much rather leave the door open for return, especially if they are still in great shape and can still put on a performance that's better than 90% of the roster.
I'd love to see HBK feud with The Rock.
Had he not stated that he is retiring from the ring and had that farewell then I wouldn't have had a problem with him having a few more matches but no one respects a person who doesn't respect his own word.If he can still go and wants to do it, I see no reason why he shouldnt. True you only live once. Shawn prefers to be able to walk for the rest of his.
Wrestling fans will never, ever let anyone be done. It's sad, and it would annoy the fuck out of me if I was a wrestler who wanted to move on with his life.
Not a shot at the OP personally, just in general I wish people would lay off a little on the clamoring for every single legend to have one more match. Shawn Michaels had one more seven and a half year run after his initial retirement in 1998. Is that really not enough?
All we have is right now....
Go hard or go home.
Spoiler
Jesus, it's not like we are sending these wrestlers death threats if they don't come back for another match. And most wrestlers aren't Matt Hardy or Hogan who got so sucked into their own hype that whenever someone asks for another match, they jump at the opportunity because they can't let the past go and move on wtih their life.
slim slim slim chance of maybe some "unsactioned brawl" some time down the road. and even then i HIGHLY doubt it.
more likely he'll show up for the odd "dont forget me!" promo or reunion and to throw the occasional superkick. thats about it. and me thinks alot of that would be has a favor to his buddy hunter more than anything else...
