    http://www.prowrestling.com/article/news/23816

The new show will debut on August 25th and run for 30 minutes each week. The first match taped was Kofi Kingston vs. Heath Slater with Santino Marella on commentary. Saturday Morning Slam will air on The CW network as part of their Vortexx Saturday morning block of TV.

Saturday Morning Slam is rated TV-G. This is unconfirmed but it's being reported that because of who WWE is marketing the show to, there will be no wrestling moves or submission holds done to the neck or head.

Here's the thing. Are you gonna watch it? I don't think so. Are you five years old? I really don't think so. So it doesn't affect you in any way, shape, or form. So bugger off about it, already.

So, if you're an adult wrestling fan who watches this who and doesn't like this sort of thing, WWE is to blame for it.

Side note about the Vortexx Block: How the hell is Cubix: Robots For Everyone still running??!?!?!?

It'll gain a new young audience who don't watch or don't understand wrestling. If they like it, as they grow up or as they learn, they'll start watching RAW and Smackdown.

Is it wrong that I'm mildly curious what these matches will look like? I mean I'm sure it's going to be a lot of working the leg. But I want to see it for myself.

So, ironically, John Cena can't use his finisher on the show tailored to his target audiance.

    Smooth Move, WWE.

Well it actually makes sense. It's going to be a Saturday morning G rated show marketed directly to kids. One thing kids like to do when they play wrestle is choke hold sort of moves or sumbmissions around the neck area. This way the new show can't get blamed if one of those kids gets hurt. Sure, it would suck if they had this rule for all WWE shows, but a Saturday morning kid show isn't worth complaining about.

In fact, look at all the people this effects.

Kofi Kingston (TIP), CM Punk (GTS), Miz (SCF), Christian (The Non-Acronymed Killswitch), Santino (Cobra), Ryback (Feed Me More Lariat), Kane (Chokeslam), Daniel Bryan (No Lock and any potential kicking in of the heads), Mr Ziggles (Zig Zag and Sleeperhold), Damien Sandow (Neckbreaker), Cody Rhodes (Crossrhodes & Beautiful Disaster), Zack Ryder (Rough Ryder), Drew McIntyre (Future Shock), Trent Baretta (Dudebuster DDT), Tyson Kidd (Blockbuster), Randy Orton (RKO, Punt)

I could go on, but I believe I've made my point.

    Thank you.

The amount of complaining I've seen about this is absolutely laughable.

Well, I may watch it, depending if the show contains any Lauranaitis upon his rumored return.

Speaking as someone who has a young son that is going to emulate all of these moves he sees on this show, I think this is a good move. I think this show for the young ones is great because Raw is not really appropriate for them imo, regardless of the rating.

If its wrestling and there are WWE fans, why should they be prohibited from watching? The show is featuring some of fans favorite wrestlers so I don't see why they should be restricted from watching.

Besides we need to stop acting like these 8-9 year olds just watch Barney and Friends and Sesame Street.....they play the same "violent" video games that we all do, watch the same "violent" cartoons that we used to(And to some, may still do), enjoy the wrestling that we all like even if they may think its real and not understand behind the scenes like we do and likewise don't like to watch a babied/dumb downed version of a show. I mean its WRESTLING. I get if they want to incorporate Santino or Ryder or Woggle and have them do skits and comedy but they are going to have matches. Why the hell can't they target the neck yet a punch to the skull/brain from a behemoth like Big Show is allowed?

RAW is PG rated and based around the kids....what's the difference here? This is purely a help for Linda's campaign and I know I'll make some people bitter over that. Linda's camp will say that her and her husband's product is putting on a successful wrestling-oriented show in the morning for kids/families to enjoy. That's definitely what I took out of it.

They can watch if they want, but they need to bear in mind that this is a show that is primarily for younger children and make judgments on it accordingly.

You can't tune in to a TV-G rated show and complain about a lack of violence, you just can't. I don't care if it's wrestling or not. Watch if you want, but if you have such a problem with this, don't.

Agreed with everything you said Blindy seriously so it's Ok for kids to play games like Call of Duty, watch shows like Family Guy and listen to music where rappers are rapping about fucking bitches but it's not Ok for a headlock to be put in a wrestling themed show besides any kid that watches this show chances are already watch the WWE anyway's.

Well considering their the ones making the product one would think so.

Call me crazy but isn't Monday Night Raw primarily for younger children these days just saying.

It might sound harsh, but I'm inclined to agree.

Seriously... I fear for future parents who have a problem with a lack of violence on a G-rated show.

How the fuck can WWE control any of that other shit?

Monday Night Raw is marketed towards children, as well as adults 18-24 which is a major demographic for them.

This show is marketed ENTIRELY towards younger children.

If you can't see the difference there, then I'm glad you don't have any say in what they're going to let kids watch.

Raw is for a mass audience. It is not tailored to children.

The entire WWE product is based around the kids and is PG rated....I think the viewers know what to expect. Its just silly to cut down on moves revolving around the neck, that's all. Again I'd have no problem if they wanted to do a Sesame Street/The Muppet esque thing with WWE superstars with funny skits and stories that might be educational.

I don't get why it has to be TV-G. Yugioh was what? TV-Y7? Power Rangers is TV-Y7.
