Default TNA Forum General Discussion Thread

Shut it down if you must, but I often feel the need to discuss things that don't fit into the existing threads. With that in mind, why start a new thread that will get ten replies tops then die? So in the interest of getting this place as active as possible, an on-going general discussion thread seems necessary.

I'll start: Everyone seems to be under the impression that TNA just got good recently. While I'm thrilled that Bobby Roode's reign and the emergence of some new top-tier singles stars has gotten people enthusiastic about TNA again, I don't agree with their timeline. I think TNA has had the most consistently enjoyable wrestling product on television since WWE fucked up CM Punk's push last year by bringing in Kevin Nash. Shocking how long it takes to re-brand something, eh? With that in mind, hopefully they stay their course in spite of the stagnant ratings.

Yes! We so need a General Discussion Thread up in this bitch! Contribution time!

Kurt Angle tore into CM Punk on Twitter Monday night. Angle slammed Punk for apparently referring to TNA as an "indy league," posting:

Punk wants to Say Tna Is An Indy League? I Was On top in Wwe when You Were trying to Get a Job Anywhere. It Was My Choice to go to Tna

If I ever See You Punk, Hide Bitch!
So TNA isn't an Indy fed because Kurt Angle is there? You can do better than that Kurt.

Thankfully, Kurt Angle sucking at taking things in good humour and using logic doesn't make TNA an indy fed.

I'm definitely a newcomer to TNA. I have been watching since January of last year. In my opinion the show really blew when I started watching. It slowly improved in tiny increments and came to fruition at Slammiversary. Again this is my opinion on how I perceive TNA. Slammiversary was the culmination of the past year's hard work in changing things in my eyes. I am very happy with the product right now. I just wish they would leave the Impact Zone. The fans there are absolutely horrid. Especially for PPVs.

I think they've been fine the few PPVs. And as much as we like the idea of doing shows outside the Impact Zone, the live audience killed Roode vs Storm at LockDown.

The Impact Zone was fun for a while but it has become stale.

Yet I'm still not convinced they can work outside of it on the regular. That day hasn't come yet. I think we should reflect on all the progress they've made over the last year and be satisfied with what the Impact Zone has given us. Positivity, please.

First off would have been nice if you asked the TNA mod if she was cool with the idea first. Second I will keep an eye on this thread before I sticky it. IF its getting a decent amount of traffic, I will consider it. For now I want to see what sort of traffic it does generate.

I now return you all to your various thoughts about TNA.

I occasionally worry about Storm not catching on as well as officials had hoped. For that reason alone, I hope he's not a face challenger for Aries at BFG.

Actually, I've been noticing that Storm has been getting much better reactions from the crowd than Aries lately. In fact, it seems like Aries actually has to burn through quite a bit of his high spots before the crowd really starts giving him lots of love... Whereas Storm really doesn't need to do much to get them behind him.

Still, TNA does a fine job of putting Storm in matches where you notice he hasn't had years to get people on his side. Matches against guys like Angle, Hardy, and even AJ. If I was booking, I certainly wouldn't make the fans choose between our two new top faces.

TNA has done a fine job getting fans to care about Storm again.

These matches were recent. So I'm not so sure. Keep him against guys like Bully and you're spot on. But otherwise, you risk losing some people.

I love Storm, but I'm much fonder of Roode and him semi-main eventing rather than having Storm walk into a title change that's hyper-telegraphed and which people have had a year to digest and possibly disagree with.

As a Samoa Joe mark I'm glad he's been pushed again.

Too true. Slammiversary was a real thrill in that "Oh hey, Samoa Joe still rocks" way. You see his match with Kaz at DX last year? Another one of those fun reminders.

I don't mind Chavo and Hernandez at all. I think they'll make a good team.

As we get closer and closer, I fully think that AJ winning that match and stealing the win from Joe is a diversion to get people thinking Joe is winning the series. Still think we get Austin/Joe for the championship and then Storm/Roode after A8 proves themselves to have no affiliation with Storm at all.

That said...if they spend so much time with this Storm/A8 thing, where can they possibly go after revealing it's for nothing?

Same here even with the win I was like AJ is still 12 points out of of 4th place?

In regards to the AJ situation, I have noticed that over the past couple of weeks, they've been mentioning how he's only wrestled x number of matches in the series, just struck me as an odd thing to mention.

I'm actually fine with Samoa Joe winning the BFG series and them doing Austin Aries/Samoa Joe for the title at Bound for Glory but only if Aries ends up retaining the title in said match.

Has AJ had his match with Robbie E yet? That should earn him some free points.

Edit: Oops! Forgot to mention this:

Kurt Angle posted the following to Twitter after he threatened CM Punk and called him a bitch last night for having implied that TNA was an indy promotion:

I apologize to TNA and WWE fans for my comment. I don't expect Punk to apologize to TNA, but I'm sorry. Respect 4 The Biz.

I didn't apologize to Punk. Only the WWE (and) TNA fans. Punk disrespected TNA. He Has a lot to learn about fame and responsibility.
Kurt just needs to fuckin' stay off of Twittah. Seriously, no good comes from using Twittuh.
